FTK measures to 20.5 - 21. According to Bauer, that puts me into a the top end of a M, or into a L. Too bad, otherwise I would have taken you up on your offer.

I assume if you've got your Ultrasonics up on the block, you've moved on to either HL1 or 2? Did you find it a worthwhile jump in quality/innovation between them? Would you think it a $400-$500 jump in quality/innovation assuming you are in HL1?

Thanks to everyone who have responded so far - really appreciate your opinions.

I've had US, HL1, Mach, and now I'm on HL2. My favorite of the bunch was the US.

Stock, off-the-shelf HL1 and HL2 are pretty soft pads by Bauer's standards. Springy knee break and soft boot. Mach is much stiffer by comparison and I wouldn't recommend it. For me, the US stiffness was just right.

Sounds like you've been playing a long time - how much butterfly have you incorporated into your game? Are you looking for better ice seal, stability in the 'fly, big rebounds off the pad? If so, then Bauer sounds as if it could be a good match for you.

In terms of innovation... it depends on what you're looking for. I wouldn't say there's $400-500 worth of changes going from HL1 to HL2. Relatively minor things, IMO - calf bracket, grip knee, different calf pillow/landing plate, different skin.

In terms of quality... it's pretty similar across these pads. Not as nice as a the domestic-made True or Brian's, but the performance is outstanding.

The mask has the labeling on it that says it has D30 in it, but I'm not seeing any of that trademark orange (and/or yellow) foam anywhere in the photos.

I think the 3D printed nest tech stuff is interesting, it's super comfortable on the Tacks helmets for sure. Was reading a guy on Instagram talking about how it's not designed for the kind of impacts a mask typically deals with and was instead designed for torsional impact, which I'd love to read more about or for any test information to come to light from. The goalie world could really benefit from some damn citations, but everyone seems to hush-hush about anything and everything.

I'll also agree that this is a pretty damn ugly mask. Maybe that shouldn't matter as much if it's a great unit, but I'm having a hard time getting over it.

Believe D3O is just in the chin cup. D3O used to be used as a layer in the foams, now the NestTech is taking center stage

Sorokin also debuting a custom graphic. Guessing Bauer wants to push goalies with unique specs into digiprint pads rather than have them wear a stock graphic.

The shape of the lines looks kind of like the Shadow....? Anyone else seeing it?

I'm getting a bit of a Bauer TotalOne vibe with the way it's used here.

In desperation, your feeble mind attempts to see the pad graphic as Bauer inspired. Anything to to shield your weak psyche from the truth - the graphic is basically a Warrior graphic and, likely soon, you'll be wearing these abominations on your legs.

    Welcome to hell.

What is your source for the Brian's 90* rumor? I've been a Brian's guy for 30+ years and I just tried out a True L20.1 580 glove today and was blown away with it. Would love it if Brian's had a glove with same break/attributes. I'm hoping the rumor is true (haha)....would order a brand new set as soon as available.

I think a couple members here have spoken to Brian's reps and the reps hinted or outright said there's something similar to a 90 degree coming. Some members on the board have seen the customizer and it does look like a 580-style break.

Someone has to. It's not like Warrior was ever clear on what all their new customization options were.

Hell, even how they describe the difference between the G6 and 6.1 glove with being a "wide shape" and "long shape" and ignoring typical goalie catcher break conventions is a bit annoying. Especially since they designate different liner breaks anyways...

Surprised you'd go with the 7.0 blocker though. I really didn't like the protruding board of my G5. My GT2 was a way better blocker.

    go off king.

Hope they really beef up the customizer booklet for 2024.

  7. The manager at my store mentions he's been seeing a few of these of warping near the rear/trigger. These were engineered to be stiffer in the front and more flexible in the back. Maybe they're too flexible? I noticed getting the steel into these seems a lot more difficult than with the previous Tuuks...

Is Michel's email address still the Gmail one?  Tried sending an email to start an order and haven't had a response in the past few weeks.

Try m.doganieri AT outlook DOT fr

He emailed me just yesterday.  Maybe tell him his Gmail doesn't seem to be working as it seems another member here had problems with the Gmail address too.
