Final question...is this the pro or senior version? This is a warranty claim and I stipulated I wanted the Axis XF Pro, but that was back in the fall. Have they dropped "Pro"? Or did I I get stuck with the senior model?
That's the Pro. Mid-level is called the F9 and the lowest is called F5.

FWIW, I used to skate with some Ducks staff and one of the guys had a Ryan Miller stick. 24.5" is what was printed on the stick and also on the 3rd pic below. So Bobrovsky's might be even shorter (22" or 22.5") than what InGoal says.

So.... I tried on some 33+2 in the store. And they were huge. See below. I've been a Bauer Small with the flat Vapor boot for the last 4 years or so. This is my first Vaughn pad.
After talking with Vaughn, I decided to go down to a 31".
Per Vaughn, going from 33" to 32" is 1/2" on the shin and 1/2" on the top.
And from 32" to 31" is 1/2" on the shin and 1/2" on the boot.- 1

I ordered mine through pure hockey and i thought it was weird that goalie monkey is quoting 10-14 weeks also. Not sure what other US retailers are quoting.
From his profile, it looks like he is in Canada.
Wouldn't be surprised if Monkey did not update the wait time.

For what it's worth, I'm currently in conversation to get a set of SLR4s and I was told 6-7 weeks, as of a couple days ago.

I'd defnitely check out the HF2 if you can. Your old steel should fit if you're going into the same size skate. It's a bit pricier than the Elite, but I think the thermoformability and hinge and the resulting performance increase are worth it. Stores should let you bake them to see how they feel before you buy.
True TF9 might be worth it especially if it is on deep discount. There's a new line of Catalyst goalie skate that is coming soon but I don't think it's going to be a huge change as going from a traditional skate to Konekt would be.

SLR4s rolled into my shop sometime in the last week. Knee blocker feels nice and stable, close to Stabilislide stiffness.
The catcher felt like a mix between a 590 and 580 break. It had a bit of the flop in the tee that the 580s are known for. Palm felt really beefy too.
Blocker felt pretty good too, but they need to tighten up/thin out the palm materials, IMO. But I could be too used to a Bauer palm.

An article came out on the Athletic about how pro gear reps influence athlete decision-making in November.
https://theathletic.com/5075492/2023/11/22/nhl-equipment-bauer-ccm-warrior
There was another slightly older, Athletic article - https://theathletic.com/4285023/2023/03/23/nhl-goalie-pads-gear/
QuotePad manufacturers have reps that pair with goalies when they enter the professional ranks. Most will partner with that goalie for their entire career, or for as long as they stay with the company. Unlike reps for the skaters’ equipment, which are divided by region and work with the teams as a whole, goalie reps work with each goalie on a one-on-one basis. Even if a goalie is traded, he keeps the same equipment rep.
QuoteBauer has three goalie reps in North America who handle every goalie wearing their gear, from the NHL to the American Hockey League.

Those are UltraSonic built for Woll
Sad - I thought the material and design on that backside looked exactly like a US pad.

Some pics and video from GoalieGearNerd
Looks like they brought that nash-like material back for the leg channel and back of the pad!

Went to a local NHL team's locker room sale a year or two back and got several Under Armour pants. They look like this - https://www.icewarehouse.com/Under_Armour/descpage-UAHCL20.html?from=gshop&gad_source=1 but have grippy material on the shins. I think they were $20 each, brand new.
I don't need the velcro sock tabs or grip, but $20 for Under Armour pants seemed like a great deal.
As for tops, I have a couple of the older Reebok (Speedwick? PlayDry?) long-sleeve shirts. They look kinda like this - https://sidelineswap.com/gear/apparel/base-layers-compression/6563003-reebok-play-dry-base-layer-compression-shirt-short-sleeve-size-men-s-large. I like these a lot since they feel more like cotton than some other baselayers out there.
-
I'm gonna guess that's pretty accurate - or at least up-to-date - since they're listing the Hazardous pads.
Looks like my guess was pretty accurate!
I wonder what's more demoralizing for a company - the damn-near-overnight jump of CCM goalies to True, or the slow bleed-out of Vaughn to other brands.
-
Was using Google Image Search to try to get some Bauer Digiprint ideas and came across this.
Makes me wonder - where are we at now 10 years later?
My guess:
The number of goalies that were CCM/Reebok are now all True.
The number of goalies that were Vaughn are now Bauer, maybe a little less.
The number of goalies that were Bauer are split now between Vaughn and CCM.
The number of Brians goalies is pretty similar.
Obviously no Warrior and no Koho (goodbye Jonas Hiller).- 1

Shout out to my captain who put it together. I'm fairly certain this is the Axis XF set I'll be getting in a couple months. Jerseys are done by Men's League Sweaters.... but their 60G seems a little smaller than my 58G Adidas practice jersey - I have a little trouble getting the MLS jersey on.

Stock is 60, but they offer a 70 degree which is similar to the 580 break.
There was a brief period where Vaughn offered a V10 XP catcher and blocker which seems to have become SLR4. Not sure if that's the original plan or if customer/pro feedback on it was so good they decided to use it as SLR4.
