  1. Back to regular programming...
I have a JRZ carry bag that is HUGE (my pads go in it and there is still room) and it is VERY durable.  No tears,  no seams ripping, no zipper issues, handles are still firmly attached.

Previously I had a Brown bag that lasted 20 years, so can't go wrong there either.

Also, another benefit of using a carry only bag is that you can proudly say you don't wheel your gear in.

    Carrying > Wheeling.

    Bring the hate.

You can still find simpler designs from time to time. The 'fancy made up technical terms' as Tubby described may be ridiculous but the amount of details his assembly line team of painters put on his mask and how sharp those graphics are is just mind blowing.

    Fixed that for ya.

DaveBarf template:  Team logo coming off corner of the cage window.  Team city or name written down the centre of forehead.  Number or nickname on chin of mask.  Clutter up the rest of the mask with little details/"effects".

"All Adult Indoor Sports Activities have been cancelled until further notice due to COVID-19."

This is our newest edict as of today in British Columbia.  This wiped out both my hockey and Aqua Fit Classes for now(?).

Well, at least I got to play 2 games already this week............

Wonder, you are in Kelowna are you not?

Do you know any of the Asshats that went to Alberta and fucked it up for the rest of us?  If so, please kick the shit out of them.

Are you mostly at Weshills?  Has hockey been shutdown now on SVI?

Panorama, Archie Browning, Pearkes, and QCentre.  Haven't played Westhills since the summer.  All my sessions are still going at this point.

It's an interesting occurrence that is fading away with the current players able to use brand new gear right away.

    No more of this:

New Team, Old Gear | Nhl hockey players, Hockey goalie, Goalie

Absolutely stupid that he did not even have skins for his pants.
But damn, I love that setup.

  7. @Dumpy , I'll be honest, the only book I read was Jacques Plante's book.  And the only video I watched was Andy Moog's....  through the years I did observe the styles of Moog, Hextall, Kirk Mclean to pick up on certain moves in situations.
I am NOT the modern butterfly AT all... if you watch old youtube videos of Stephane Fiset, that is very close to my style.
Sorry I'm not much help as I am mostly self taught.

Oh, I also read Vic Lemire's "Goaltenders Are Not Targets"

I'll respond, being one of the grand-masters of this club  (I think @Wonder35 is the only one that presently has me beat):

First: I'll fix your last comments

Second: I'll warn you of a dangerous mistake you made - your comment "Can’t stand today’s warmed over remakes of classic movies." Whoo - DO NOT use the term "remake" in front of people under 30 - I don't know why but you'd be safer insulting their mother, car, S/O anything but saying that. I once told a bunch of ~ 25 year-olds that "Star Trek" Into Darkness was a remake of "The Wrath of Khan" (I didn't even say "shitty remake", which it was) - barely got out of the place alive - and 75% of the people that were openly hostile about it were relatives...

From your comments you seem to have what it takes, but as Jimmy asked "Are you experienced?" Do you have the age debilitating wounds that make you a true curmudgeon? Do you need to get up to pee at night? Do you have to eat fiber. Do you subconsciously know the shortest route to the closest restroom in any given store or mall? Do you remember the disappointment that came with breaking a yo-yo string? Do you still have burn marks on your fingers form that first Xmas wood-burning kit (what evil parent would give that to a kid and think it was OK to sen them off on their own and learn how to use it?)

    Show us what ya got!

I will add another.  Do you have any scars from Lawn Darts?

Have you yelled at kids to get off your front lawn?
Mostly, do you grunt/groan whenever to sit down, or get up?

    Welcome!

I haven't played since December.  Ever since some time in either April or May, I don't quite recall when, my right knee has been bothering me.  Its the same knee I injured a few years ago, slight meniscus tear.  I know I didn't do anything to tweak it recently.  At least, I don't recall a moment where I was like "oww that hurt."  It was just kind of sudden where bending down at the knees and coming back up again hurts.  I am assuming its from lack of my once/twice a week stretching that I would do before games as well as the lack of playing to keep me limber.  I need to do better for myself and start stretching every night to get myself back into the swing of things.

sadly, once it tears a little, it can tear a little more.  Something as simple as rolling over in bed while you sleep, if your foot does not move completely with the rest of the leg, it can torque it a bit and tear a bit

Tournament play went on as planned with no restrictions this weekend.  Full rosters.  Benches.  Box.  Open locker rooms.  Full contact during games.  The only thing they took away: no handshake line after games (which was weird since we all did usual celebrations after goals scored).  We did a stick salute instead.  It was awesome to get out there and eat up some live shots again.

Interesting - if I recall in that rink, you can see the dressing room doors from the ice surface, correct? It would be a bit difficult in some rinks where the dressing rooms are down a walkway not visible from the ice.

Yep exactly.  But with only one sub per side, guys would JUST sit down after walking from the bench, and they would have to get back up again and walk to the bench to go on the ice.

Considering their roots, they should have not only given you a free coffee but thrown in a donut as well...

    P.S. How was the session?

I was not nearly as gassed as I thought I was going to be, and not even stiff the next day.
It was... interesting.  The sub for each side could not even sit on the bench, they had to sit on a chair in front of the dressing room door.  I guess so the arena staff does not have to disinfect the benches between each group.
    Playing again Friday and Saturday.

    Update -

Mike got the arms, we talked for a bit on the phone today.  He's going to add a layer of plastic on top, and a soft layer of foam beneath.

    So... like a Brown??  LOL
