Just got a new EFlex 4 stick!!
If anyone has any questions about it I’ll try my best to answer.
Should I do a review or do you have that covered @TheGoalNet?
Looks sweet! No tape so assume you haven’t used yet? I’ve had a P2 pro for a bit so was curious of comparison to that.
What model are you coming from?

I have a hard time playing well in just one set...
@TheGoalNet noticing the subtle height differences across sets (and your OCD in arranging by said order ).
Did you order same size for each and these are just the typical variances across models/brands?

@dstew29 or anyone else, how do you manage to get elastic toe laces through anything other than the toe hole? Looks too far away to be reached elsewhere.
Those skates look like beauts.
@keeperton Thanks, so far so good!
Good observation. So I have pro laces on my pads and have been using the middle hole to lace them through. It's pretty taught so I actually fasten the velcros about mid-way down the female side (meaning about half of the male and female velcro pads are not connected at all). I haven't had any issues with playability and they've stayed fastened without issue.
I did notice that a handful of NHL guys that use 1-piece (Rinne. Saros and Georgiev to name a few) will use skate lace or similar bungee type lace versus the velcro pro laces (probably for the reason you're mentioning - so they can control the tension level).

Here they are!
Of note...
3D Molded - NOT full custom = Made in Vietnam and baked in Canada
By size chart, I’m a 10.5D usually. I’ve worn both 10.5 and 10 in Bauer over the past few years. 10.5 One100, 1S 10D, and 2S 10D. In Bauer world I think my best for goal is Vapor and I’m currently in Supreme 2S Pro.
I prefer a more snug skate and default to 10D. In a 10, my toes barely graze the toe cap if I try. In a 10.5, I believe my skates fit “technically” correct and there’s just a small gap between my toes and the cap.
I would say these fit like 10.5 Bauer One100 for length. I’ve pulled out the footbed to check size and it’s pretty solid.
I let the machine do it’s magic here and I’m an 11D. Please note, based on the fitting video... I’m a Tacks foot
Im sharing this for reference, because I was shocked when the 11D showed up!
I was guessing I’d get a 10 or 10.5. As the custom molding program transforms and shapes the boot more than the regular bake, I’m guessing the larger size was used to stretch around my foot that isn’t naturally a JetSpeed boot?
These look amazing. How’s the fit in the heel? I was very close to waiting for these but went with the true 1 piece. The fit is so locked in with the True boot. It actually takes some extra effort to pull them off!
can you do a height comparison picture next to your 2s? Would be interested to see how the height stacks up versus True and Bauer competition.

Did you profile them, or sharpen them differently as compared to the 190s? If not, how is the stock profile on the True 2-piece? I haven't gotten my hands on them yet (a couple more weeks before I have the free time to drive up - curse you, waiting!), but I've heard that you don't need as low of a radius with them. I currently use 3/8" on my Grafs, but I've also never replaced the original steel that came with them (I think it is pretty soft), so who knows what the profile on them looks like now.
@Teezle I think we put our True orders in around the same time in March and I just picked up my 1-piece skates last night! Got them baked and sharpened before I left, but the LHS didn't profile runners so that will have to wait.
I was told to go with a more shallow sharpening radius since you get extra bite from the better power transfer of True skates. I have been getting 1/2" so I went with 5/8" to start out.
Let me know what you end up going with for your profile if you get it done. I was using a 20/32" dual radius on my last pair of skates so I'm thinking I'm might go back to that as it worked for me. Not sure yet.

Are the solid suspender connections a new standard design of did you request these?
Not sure if these are new standard or not. I was actually assuming I’d get the more linear connection piece you’re referring to. Might have had something to do with my button placements? I have CCM shield 2 pants.
will let you know how they work after a few reps. Should have them any day now

Yes, it will be comparable. Pricing is always something we strive to keep low while providing top notch handmade Canadian quality.
Can you do 2 piece cuff on this glove.

Got scanned for a 2-piece on Monday when I was in the area for work. Now the wait!
I tried on all the brands of skates in the store, including the "stock" True in my size. Compared to my current Grafs, True was the only one as comfortable - in fact, the True skates I tried on in the store were even more comfortable than my current well-loved and well-used ones. It will be an interesting transition to both a cowlingless and taller skate, but I'm excited for it.
Congrats! Can you maybe shed some light on True sizing? Sneaker size vs Graf vs True?
I ask because I tried on an 8 True and they were too small but I just heard True doesn’t make half sizes?

Quick rant. Stopped by a big box LHS yesterday to get scanned for True 1 piece. Huge True display, w display skates for all models, goalie included. Was told by associate and manager that they don’t have the capability to scan there. So I naturally asked, so what happens every other time someone comes in wanted to buy True skates? No answer. Unreal. I’d be livid if I were tied to True brand.

No problem, it was a spontaneous thought for an easy solution.
I actually use this type of wrist band as my sweat band in my mask, which I love. It offers great spatial coverage on my forehead and offers heavy duty sweat retention.
reminds me of a few games ago when I couldn't find my sweatband and assumed I'd be fine without it

Looked cool from far in the vid but even better up close! Great execution on the paint. The new era stuff is waaay too busy. Plus the 90s era chin banner is a must if I get my next one painted!
I love that shell but my head doesn't fit in the xpm. There's a Coveted 906 model that takes some heavy inspiration from 960 that I've been eyeing which would fit me. Same one Subban wears (one of his masks anyways):

First "unnecessary" windmill in the new stuff against the weakest shot thats ever been shot.
its not a real windmill unless you partially dislocate your shoulder
the new setup looks awesome on-ice, nicely done!!
Nice mask too. Which brand/model is that?

Nope, no upcharge on the extra break in time. Would recommend it on any custom order. The difference in closure is HUGE between a stock glove and this.
wow, no brainer then. good on ya Brians!
I thought they were trying to pull the old "here are some bland chips, now do you want guac for a reasonable upcharge?" ...of course we all want guac

Btw, is the "extra break in time" an additional charge? lol

I am big dumb. What does this mean? I know what a T is and I know what a floating T is. No idea what an anchor or floating anchor T is.
It's a floating T. I think it just has to do with Brian's patent on the "Anchor T" branding. It's like a standard T but with rigid material to better keep the pocket open i.e. deeper pocket, less pop-outs, etc.

Good luck man. My Step blades that NoIcing set up for me were the best set of steel I've ever had. I'll be sending my current set of Tydan steel off to NoIcing shortly for a double radius. The Goalie-Sam profile that Tydan put on the blades for me before shipping just hasn't worked well for me, so I'm looking forward to getting back onto something I know and trust.
Any idea if Tydan makes Graf runners? I’ve only seen for Bauer and True.

So how is this working out for you?
I really like the new setup. I feel very balanced out there vs feeling pitched forward or on my heels at times with the old steel. The extra height of the Step was a little adjustment but I’m liking it now. Holding a good edge still too.
now just need to figure out if I should replace the old steel altogether and get a 2nd Step set or just profile the old steel. I don’t think I trust my LHS to sharpen and not mess w the profile.

@dstew29, Just curious did you buy the Grafs new, how long have you had them and how often you sharpen them, what type of machine is used for sharpening?
I wouldn't be surprised if there is a lengthy adjustment period, that is a huge difference between the 2 blades.
Bought used from a member here, maybe 6 months ago? Have only had about 6 games/skates with them but it was very clear early on that something was off with the skates or blades. Had this constant feeling of sitting on my heels or falling forward i.e. no balance/stability.
Granted, prior to this year I hadn't played in 15 years so I knew I'd be re-adjusting to new gear/playing hockey again. Hopefully the new setup and profile will be a big improvement.

Newly profiled step steel arrived today (ordered thurs night- very fast turn!! Big ups to Bob at No Icing). After a quick back and forth via email, Bob recommended a combo radius, 20’/32’ with some forward pitch. Said my 1/2” hollow is a good depth so no change for me there.
Probably wont get to play in it until next week but snapped a few pics for now.
First two pics show new profiled step vs the stock runners. And holy shit! Look at the difference in shape. No wonder I was having serious issues and felt off balance. The old steel looks like a player radius. I did not expect this drastic of a difference and I personally would have never guessed the steel was this rocketed by looking at it.
Third pic is just my new stetup w the step runners. They’re slightly taller than stock as well but not much. Maybe 3-4mm.
