The taped up channel locks... so ghetto yet so great.

    The ghetto-ness runs deep?

UPDATE: so I used the channel locks along the “crease” approx. at each finger stall and can say this has definitely sped up the process. Did this for a few days then back to alternating between stretcher and hot glove wrap (with a few tennis balls in the pocket). Much snappier than its ever been. See video:

That is actually a great idea! Do you dampen your glove with this clamping? Sara from PAW also suggests to clamp the materials where the glove creases; this is just opened up.

    Good onya!!!!

Thanks mate. Actually glad you’ve heard of this method from a manufacturer. Part of me wasn’t sure if it might jack with the padding/protection. I think it’s fine...hopefully

thats a good thought. Maybe I’ll try spraying the material before clamping if I’m not getting good progress.

@TheGoalNet @Aquilzz another vote here for the Hot Glove. My 1S glove was still stiff after more than a season, and after about 5 rotations of stretcher, then Hot Glove with a puck on the break, it finally got fappy. Oooh. #FinallyFappy lol

    ? #finallfappy

Going to try this new method before going the bake/soak route. The CCM interior palm feels like a firm gel type material that seems too firm at the crease. I grabbed an old pair of channel locks with some tape and going to try and clamp down at each finger stall to see if this eventually helps. Going to keep the hot glove on as well.

Will report back if this finds the elusive #fappyplace

  4. I got a varlamov pro return Eflex 3 pro glove last month and I’m having a hard time breaking it in. I’ve been religiously alternating between the stretcher and the glove wrap almost daily and it’s not quite where I’d expect. Still way too difficult to close the last quarter of the way. Its a “game ready” palm but think most of the difficulty with closure is coming from the thick layer of D30.

Anyone else having similar break in issues with CCM pro Eflex 3 or pro p2? Is it the D30 that’s harder to break in?

  5. I honestly have no clue but I think I recognized the player as ND’s Morris. Found a couple different angles that could help.

Played my first game in this yesterday and really impressed so far.

    any questions - please ask.

Nice, been waiting for a Shield II CA review! What unit are you switching from? Any major differences between the two right out of the gate?

For me I never had a bag big enough to fit my pads so I always carried them.  I feel a bag that would fit everything would be too big to carry.

Thanks, makes sense.Yeah my old bag fit everything but it was a bitch to carry at times. That sumo locker bag looks like an interesting third option that i might check out too.

That's my personal feeling as well. I tried the carry-everything bag when I was younger and people used to say I'd bust through door frames like the Kool-Aid man. OH YEAAAAA!

? laughed pretty good at this one. And I've definitely been that guy leaving a trail of carnage behind me to and from the locker room.

  9. Was taking a hard look at Brown’s 2400 goalie bag. Seems to have all features I’d want and looks way more durable than most goalie carry bags I’ve seen. Like the grommet vent holes for ventilation too.

Anyone know about how much this one is? No pricing on the site.

I do like the idea of the Passau backpack though. Might look into this too.

  10. "Goalie specific"?

I could be completely wrong but these appear to be the exact same holders, save for the triangular punch out near the toe...

If they are the same (punchout aside) my point was simply why not make a "goalie specific" holder that would emulate the height of the 1 piece unit?

I'm not knocking True at all by the way. This is just my personal preference for something that isn't available yet...

  11. seems odd that True couldn’t partner or develop a new mold for a goalie specific holder. They obviously appreciate the market’s desire for a lower profile skate with their 1 piece unit.

Id consider ditching my cowling on my Graf dm1080s but I don’t like the added height on the step player holder and vertexx.

I'm testing out a pair of Graf DM1080s, which are a pretty big change from my VHs on Bauer cowlings. So far, so good.

Murray, any chance you could shed some more light on the DM1080s you've tested? I'm starting from scratch to build a new setup and was considering these or the new AS1s that are due out soon. Haven't been able to see either skate in person so just trying to gather info relative specs vs the cowlingless Bauers.

  13. Also not a big fan of the new graphic. Anyone have experience with vaughn custom graphic options (variety, pricing, etc.)? I'd probably go with some version of the pulse graphic or a cleaner setup like Brossoits V7s w/ vertical stitching. No one is like Brians custom, but was wondering if they were getting more liberal with their custom to compete...
