Just curious? Why do you think his order was "basic" and why should that make things move quicker? If they're backed up due to volume, business is booming and your place in line is set. I'm not sure a piece of gear' s degree of basic-ness changes things. Really, there can't be that much not-basic stuff. Most custom stuff is simply color changes and maybe some straps or the upcharge for colored VAUGHN logos. I doubt they ever bump stuff based on how basic it is. In the grand scheme of things, there's not much difference structurally to the gear in line for custom manufacturing.

...and you have every right to overrule your retailer and go straight to Vaughn. It is highly likely the glitch you are experiencing is with the retailer, not Vaughn.

I don't think colors determine wait times But, I ordered mine after you and received mine before you, it seems. So something is up with yours. You have every reason to be irritated and get an explanation.

He was told 4 months originally when he ordered them. He continued. His consent was given. There's nothing ridiculous about that. Vaughn is either first or second in how many goalies they outfit from juniors on up (CCM). It is perfectly reasonable to have to wait several months. There is a reason you can get Brian's or Warriors so fast and that's the inverse of above. You're point is well made: you hate Vaughn and the people who work there. We got it

    Agreed. Dennis is great.

Just call them directly. You can get their number online or on their site. Ask for Dennis, he is the custom sales rep. I wouldn't trash Mike online. That accomplishes nothing and production times have nothing to do with him.

Sorry to hear that. I see you hit them up on Instagram a lot. Have you called Dennis to ask what's up?

Early July. I was told gloves are moving through fast and pads are slow. My pads will be sometime in October.

Man, I know the saying that "a blocker is just a blocker" but there is nothing better than the way a brand new blocker feels with how snug and cushy it is. This VE8 blocker is like putting your hand in a snug cloud and it is so lightweight compared to my V6 blocker. So impressive.

Speaking of gloves, my new mitts showed up today as a complete surprise, about a month early. Pads shouldn't be far behind. VE8 Pro Carbon blocker and a V6 2200 glove They are perfectly in line with how I ordered them and I am super pleased.

If any Vaughn fans want to see some glove porn, here's the Vaughn glove guy's Instagram. His Instagram is of the reasons the new VE8 graphic worked its way into my favor https://www.instagram.com/jdc_gloves/?hl=en
  14. Love it. It really it quite strange what we goalies do and even stranger how we do it.
  15. Ha, I love this picture. It's so dramatic. GOALIE: A Musical.

    Brian's Gear

My buddy Dave is in his mid 60s and played goalie longer than most of us have been alive. I went over to his house for a hockey bbq today and got to reacquaint myself with his goalie archive. Check out all the old school Brian's pads.....he has the matching mitts for each set, too. Very impressive collection.

  18. Here's a great life hack I picked up on the GSBB: If the noise of a dangler annoys you, go to an automotive supply store and buy clear car door liner. It is like a puck, hardened rubber, with adhesive in the crease. Cut it into pieces and place it on the chin of your mask and/or under your cheek where the dangler might make contact with your mask. I use two separate 1/2 inch pieces on the chin and one 3 inch piece under each cheek. It'll significantly deaden the clanking noise and sound more like a dud/thud. Not sure if that was brought up on this site, but it works like a charm. You can see mine in the pics.

Confirmed $100 for cut/stitched VAUGHN logos for mitts and pads.
  21. Thanks, it's sorta weird wearing a non-painted mask right now, but I love it. The foams inside are so much nicer than my other mask.

I didn't even bother to ask. I had already paid upcharges for embroidery and ordering an older generation glove. I couldn't bring myself to send any more money, regardless of how awesome it would look to have the letters in my color scheme.
