  1. I got mine from Goalie Parts, but you might have to contact them for a separate purchase with only buckles because they only officially sell them with straps. But they definitely have them
  2. I've had the set since early May and I play 3 times a week, plus a weekend tournament in these. The knee cradle gets completely soaked everytime I play. I have an abnormal physiological condition where I sweat tremendously when overheated or exercising and related to that, I go through 2 32 oz water bottles every time I play and a good portion of that gets sprayed in my face or in my jersey. So, they collect a lot of moisture and it's just from the abrasion from my knees when wet. Just about 100% of my gear is completely saturated every time I play (a huge reason why stock Mach glove strapping fails me).
  3. Looks awesome, congrats. The lightning effect is very cool and nice touch with Sportmask on the forehead.
  4. Wow, so awesome. One of the most convincing optical illusions on Bauer gear I've seen yet. Woah, nice 34-5 pads.

    Learning to skate..

So spot on. Any foundation work is easy to sleep on because it's not always obvious or noticeable, but it is always there underneath anything you do playing goalie. It's easy to trip on yourself just doing little things like turning around to grab your water bottle and it's really easy to look like a fool if say you get pulled late in the game and your team is yelling at you to "skate!" to the bench. Being comfortable with foundations of skating are lurking beneath stuff like this. Of course, technical goalie stuff like pushes is all edge work. Foundation is what you build everything else on and the foundation is 100% skating. Don't sleep on it.
  6. It's blocker side, so could be from my stick too.
  7. Appreciate the pics guys. Here are some of my Bauer M5s, just for comparison. You can kinda see the warping from leaning here, it's on the inside top corner of each pad but it's really subtle and difficult to capture on camera And here is a wear point on my right blocker-side pad. Not sure what it's from but it started very early and only in this spot
  8. Me. Too. And especially with the all white gear, I was like "oh hell no."
  9. Well, the good news is I regretted nothing going from Vaughn to M5s with the pads. It was a huge jump in build and I got comfortable and enjoyed the difference within 2 or 3 skates so I'm in the ballpark, err.....hockey rink, I need to be in.
  10. Makes me wonder which Pro Custom build the M5s are based on. I bet Cam would know.
  11. Played in a fun scrimmage this Saturday with a lot of my regular teammates and friends, got #52 from my bestie Dandee. Pretty rad logo, definitely the gloomiest, most ominous puck.
  12. I'm glad you're nudging me, I trust you. So you think this is the best option?
  13. Old man Winter Champs from January, forgot to post. Last season for me in Vaughn before jumping to Bauer
  14. There is a slight / shape to the Mach pads from what I can see, they're not totally straight. I'm not too concerned \ with the overall stiffness. The M5 Pros are by FAR the stiffest pads I have ever used. I really love them and have no gripes or wants for them (other than maybe a professor strap?). They don't really bend or move that much, but, I am an elbow-drive leaner and I am noticing a slight warp to them up top in the thigh rise area. If the Mach pads offer more protection from warping then that's a plus. I've for sure noticed the improvements and advantages of using stiffer pads in my game and welcome whatever increase the Machs offer over the M5 Pros.
  15. Who was the last goalie in the NHL to use Warrior gear? How many years did they pay fees for gear other than sticks?
  16. Good eye, thanks. You're catching me slipping after ignoring Bauer threads for many years on here, haha. Made the change to Vapor and changed the Line Zone to White
  17. Success, much easier to navigate on a real computer
  18. Thanks guys. @ZeroGravitasfor sure, thats what I'm noticing. I guess it makes sense with larger companies that do more volume. @Hockey34 thanks, I'll look for it. I was having issues navigating the Pro Custom site on my phone but I'll try on our laptop instead. The selection::scrolling interface is kinda wonky on a phone. Man.....I guess now I just need to decide if a glove is worth $600+. I added that with a normal blocker and normal pads, no issues on those, and it was just under $3k. Not for from the $2700 range of all my previous custom Vaughn sets.
  19. How though? I can't see an "add wrist strap" option on Bauer.com customizer I'm used to Vaughn where you talk to a guy about specs. Bauer seems very rigid and structured and automated online.
  20. Is the break on US the same 600 as Mach?
  21. Hopefully they go "oops" and fix it on Mach 2.
  22. That smells like death on SLS? Nah.
