  1. @ZeroGravitas have any feedback based on custom orders?

Mach and Hyperlite have the same connection points I believe, so they are interchangeable. I believe whatever you order is what you get  in the box. You will not get the Mach strapping too if you order HL on Mach.

You should be able to get HL on Mach if that is your choice

FWIW, I have used all OD1N pads... Mach is a major step forward for Bauer. It works well and it does not require patience dialing it in.

You're right they do sit taller, but when I drop I have no issues, I kinda like this. I ordered the same size as the Axis1.

@ZeroGravitas I would like a longer strap and maybe more velcro. I was able to stretch out the strap though and my 3rd game was better.

This chatter is actually inspiring me. I might try to make an extension to make them sit more like Axis 1.

My main issue is getting in and out of RVH or sort of 1/2 recovering. When I am in some scrunched positions, the pads interfere with pants and C&A. I can get through skates, but I am just not comfortable with it and would prefer a shorter version of this pad given the choice.

I wanna clarify once and for all that this skate was simply, an ordinary, crystal clear, unmistakable, frank as Frank Pietrangelo, a god-damn, mother f***in' PLAYER SKATE

    Nowthen...

How do I know for sure? Well first of all I was working in retail hockey at that time when it was released. And I did ask our sales representative when I did see it that I was curious about removable tendon guard. He said the reason it was removable was because many hockey players have a bad habit of taking their skates off like their sneakers--using their toe against their heels to push it off and that over time weakens the guard and cuts/breaks it off. So they would start offering the replacements. Tendon guards are in place to protect from injury. And the option to remove it was like the option to remove the seatbelts from your car.

Soon enough I got questions about if we carried the "Mako goalie skate" and I straight up told customers it wasn't a goalie skate. Some accepted this answer and some fired back with the same old question of "Well why is the tendon guard removable, huh"? So the only way to know for sure was to check the catalog and sure enough, no where did it say that it was  convertible goalie skate. I also called up Mr. Jeff Sarginson who was our Easton sales representative at the time and told me that it was indeed not a goalie skate, not advertised as a goal skate, not intended to be used for goalie and not built or designed for goalies. Period.

There were still yo-yos out there who were convinced it'd be cute to buy a $600 skate and still have to spend another $100 or so to put a Graf cowling on. And that's fine but anyway.

ironically, basically taking the tendon guard off the player skate is what we have now as goalies skates

I brought my glove into my local shop this past week to get it re-laced for $50 and when I picked it up today it seemed super tight. There's zero flexibility or give to the lacing, very uneven holes, and some where I can barely fit my finger through. From what I've seen it should be much looser than this so should I cut it and try to re-lace it or is it good?

This place feels like the last days of the GSBB. Forums are so 90s.

Oh well... it was fun while it lasted.

I just got my 56k modem installed too. Dang!

I am not sure TikTok or the Meta verse existed when this website started? I can say, our website hits are pretty consistent though.

It will be hard for the forum to grow, but it's not going anywhere. It's also the slow season before camps and the season start.

Skated last night, still got pain in the same pain points after the third (?) bake.  Not as bad as pre-bake.

Skated today, put in Superfeet and while they killed my arches for about half an hour, the pain was mostly gone by the end of it

Continuing on testing these things...maybe I bought my Step steel too early

Could you re bake with the superfeet in?

  8. Hi All, I have generally stayed away from promo codes. Don't want to badger people and they get cheesey.

However, I bought this stuff for myself. It's amazing. I saw that had a promo code and figured I would sign up.

These feel like a sport brand golf pants, but look like a suit.

Let me know if you have any questions? Happy to help out with a product I believe in.

I am using the skate lace loop too. I think this is a superior method to the one posted by @TheGoalNet (no offense) because it stays attached through the pull loop all the time and does not require you to reattach or make sure it stays on whenever you release the lower buckle.

Your idea of holding the skate lace down with the lower buckle is an interesting one. I haven't had any problems with mine above the buckle yet, but I may give your version a try.

    Non taken! All good

Im weighing my options. A pair of skates at rec level hockey but at this cost, I need to see these are not a waste of time and money so feedback is definately required here.  Early trends in resale ads, modifications needed and quality issues within the first 50 days of launch is not a good sign. If more Pro's reject these skates just for the sake of change too, it will probably be a no-go for me based on all that. Hopefully this model is tweaked in a year and bit from now though.

An adult rec goalie should base 0 purchasing decisions based on what an NHL goalie wears.

IMO, the Konekt flex has greatly reduced pain in hips the day after a game. It's a more forgiving skate. If you have the means to buy this skate and currently experience any joint pain after a skate, I think that alone could justify the cost? Who cares if they are 10% heavier and not accepted by NHL goalies... but they allow your body to accept the rigors of goaltending with less stress?

Has anyone weighed theses yet? Im hearing they weigh more then every offering out there including low end models.

Are you in the market for a pair of these? Or just challenging that people are actually satisfied with something  so new?

So the über-hard rebounds Bauer has are a function of pad core? That is interesting.

I'll definitely take a look at the Stabilislide Brian's knee block topic.

I'll have to wait for Optik 3 gameplay reviews to see if I might later be able to get a used unit.

Skin also has something to do with it too

But generally speaking, no one is close to Bauer in rebounds. The Bauer rebounds have velocity off of them. Everyone else just has distance, but it's not fast.

Wondering if anyone has any good ideas about how to best use ProLaces with the Konekts. @TheGoalNet previously posted a solution using an extra loop through the lower buckle, but I was hoping to avoid adding that extra step.

Using the ProLaces normally, it seems there is a risk that they will slip down and over the toe. Only idea I had was to stretch them to go through the rear hole of the holder and up so that the velcro tabs are between the two buckles, but then I'm a little concerned that they could accidentally flip the buckle forward during play. Any suggestions would be great.

Pro Laces sent me a piece of Velcro. it velcros on to it self. I wrap the loop over the mid foot buckle. Then put the prolaces velcro through that.

  14. I am guessing they are Miller. Maybe this is around the time the league starting asking for logo fees? Roy's pads were blank around this time.

As for the colors? Maybe he liked the feel of OG leather in the shins, but was okay with white synthetics in the less important areas for weight and durability savings?

What a dumb name.  Sounds like something Warrior would come up with in their earlier days.

All of True's name come from successful golf shafts.

    Project X, Hazardous, etc

If they come out with a Dynamic Gold, I will buy it out of respect.

Thought I would share some thoughts after a few skates:

    • As much as I love the buckles, I have two discreet complaints (both of which I think/hope could be addressed in a future release): 1. The micro adjustment on the “loop” side is achieved by twisting the loop. There should be a way to lock this setting in place (maybe a set screw?) once it is set. The problem is with taking them on an off that piece can get jostled around and twist out of its setting. And 2. Related to #1, the loops actually have “correct” orientation, which is indicated by the little green arrow that is supposed to face out. If the loop is twisted upside down, it won’t attach properly. Not huge issues, but minor frustrations considering the convenience the buckles provide.

    2 thoughts:

    1. I think if you clip the buckles back on the second you take them off, you will ensure that you minimize the number of chances to lose the position

    2. I have definitely had them twist on me, but I feel like I notice instantly? You will be surprised how quickly you get used to the feel. I twist them one way looser and they feel perfect again

I just used the insoles that came with the skate.   I don’t think you’ll need super feet - the fit is incredible.

I have had my feet scanned with Aetrex Albert scanner. I am in the 90 and 95% percentile for arch height. One foot is higher than the other.

The boot hugs your arches like I have never felt. I know everyone's feet are different, but I would be shocked if you need insoles on top of Konekt.
