I use the Aegis neckguard and am very happy with it so I am excited about these new products. I do have two questions:
1.} Will these be ready for the start of this upcoming season?
2.} I understand the concept behind having the D30 in impact areas such as the clavicle, ribs etc. However, as the foam hardens upon impact wouldn't that create a not so soft landing zone for the knee area or is the impact from the butterfly drop not enough to change this property in the foam?
1. its available now on their website
2. It's multiple density foam on the knees. There is a cushioning layer. -

As long as it's site content, fully encouraged!
Appreciate the forensic science here. If they went to Kask, I would assume it's built off the pro dept production line which is the same as the Total Custom Pro. -

Not sure how but I actually remember IPV6freely. Maybe I just looked at an old forum once that he was in but I remember him from somewhere. Hills is about as relevant as Hockey Reviews
IP helped design the forum aesthetic because he had experience with it.

Pretty sure we're just a handsome collection of retards.
I understand this was used as an effort of self-deprecation and I have 0 patience for opening a discussion on "Cancel culture". I know you're always jovial with your posts and this was not meant to be mean spirited.
But yes, "retard" is a word that is not longer socially acceptable and people can take offense to it. Let's refrain from using it.

Would be cool if they added the inner thigh padding these had. I took a freak inner thigh inline shot and bought these over a decade ago. I have two pairs that are almost decayed and Shock Doctor discontinued these. I know the chances are low of a shot there, but I liked having the padding there evere since.
We definitely had that concept at some point in the project.
at some point in the project.
Each new padding pouch increased the cost significantly and increased the manufacturing complexity. We tried to find the balance between something unique and not over priced

Any idea if the back of the shirt is open and ventilated like the Vaughn one is?
Yes, with flat seams between panels

Gotta say it's nice to hear confirmation I'm not the only one who can't stand him or think it's outrageous that he posts his God awful in game play. Major, major cringe factor. He is ABOSULTELY in it for the free gear, there's zero doubt about that. The fact that True seems to have made a custom set for him just boggles the mind.
I don't work with True corporate like I do Bauer or CCM. I have a friend in the Montreal factory for my True connection and that's how I got my demo set.
So maybe he is working with them? But from what I know, he is NOT getting free stuff from Bauer or CCM. Last I knew, he worked at a shop for the employee discount and leveraged that to acquire gear. -

Hockeyreviews is a joke, he was crying here when he left as if anyone gave 2 shits.... when this is a community of one another helping each other, it was about himself. He's bias, and that palm test was a complete joke. Any puck that hits the sweet spot will hurt that's why we have pockets. Move on from him.
For anyone wondering... this is some old stuff, haha
Initially, anyone who volunteered to be a mod and offered a skill set which I did not have, was "hired" (it's a volunteer thing).
HR (Hills) and I generally had different view points. He got frustrated I always picked my own path instead of his suggestions. Two sides to every story? He probably felt I was stubborn and didn't value his input.
He wanted a poster banned, the poster in question had some offline conversations with me, and I wanted to give him another chance. I asked Hills to take the time to discuss this situation with me on the phone and also review revamping the mods role. He said he didn't want to talk me, I said it didn't make sense he was a mod anymore, and he started his own content creation after that.

I take all reviews with a grain of salt, but lately I find myself putting less stock into what Hockeyreviews says because of how subjective and hyperbolic against whatever doesn't work for him and his game. Even on his CCM 581 Reddit post, when people give opposing opinions, he seems to get pretty defensive and talk about his sources which I mean could be anything.
I try NOT to follow other reviews. I don't want anyone's opinion to cloud mine.
If am I unsure if I trust my opinion on a topic, I ask GGN, InGoal, or some other trusted people...
But what is the opposing views on 580? He likes it or does not? -

With how the new glove has its T set, it's got me wondering if it's the Brian's take of trying to make a 90deg. I'm not so sure about the new line's blocker, looking forward to more information.
From the picture of Igor, I'm supposing he's in the stiff version of the Iconik since he was in Optik 2s last season. The bend angle, outer vent, and knee cradle shape+material all align with the new pad. He does have the Raanta calf strap (single thick instead of GNetik double but thin).
I have gotten pretty rusty on my Brian's, but they generally just updated logos / graphics every year to help push the new line? They generally don't have an Optik guy and a GNetik guy? That's why it's hard to tell sometimes, IMO, without going side by side with retail pics and a pro.

I got mine at Sports Etc, ordered online

New line for 2023 called the ICONIK.
Picture by Goalie Gear Nerd on Instagram
Got to play with the customizer a bit, graphic looks great!
This is the replacement for GNetik.
I would NOT place too much stock in what we see a pro wearing right now... could be existing player spec with the new graphics.
Independently, new glove / blocker line coming too -

I did a lot of research prior to buying my eflex 6 set (lifelong Vaughn user), and it was pretty incredible to see how split people are on the whole CCM speedskin/weave/, and just in general "do these pads suck at sliding" debate! I haven't been able to get them out on the ice yet but at this point I just can't wait to try that first butterfly slide
what were the key features of EF6 that had you pick it over Vaughn? What pads are you coming out of?

I've got a handful of skates in my set as well and I will say that the weave on the ef6 slides better than the primo on my optik2 pads. I had no trouble pushing across the crease whether it was fresh ice or an hour into the skate.
This is where some of these subjects are subjective or local ice dependent?
I haven't used Brian's in a bit, but those always slide so well. I don't think EF6's standout feature is the sliding. However, my PX pads are just weave and they are some of the fastest sliding pads in recent memory, so I don't doubt that someone is having a good personal experience with weave. -

How's the Weave sliding vs speedskin axis 2?
Would take speed skin at the moment, ice has not been the best. See humidity in Chicago in the summer, so I am hesitant to cast that statement in concrete.

@froese the loops get the 5X1 glove design from odd to usable IMO. 591 pre-loops was just awkward. Now it just comes to down if you like it or not? It's very mechanical hinge like closure compared to a baseball glove feel from the rest of the market?

Have 3 skates in... feel free for anyone to ask a specific question they are curious about?

Bauer and their desire to skin everything as their most current released brand is always a tricky one.

agh! those Micron skates. the padding wore away in mine and the ankle bolt/rivet dug into my ankle and screwed me up bad. they were just plain terrible. i had some older d&r pads that were heavy and soaked up water like a sponge. bayard pads were heavy too. not great.

I have never had a chest protector with arms that didn't slide down during games. Like everything, it's a preference, so maybe it doesn't doesn't work for everyone, but I think it's one of the killer features.
