I’ve seen a couple AHL goalies wearing a Mach without a wrist strap.

And the Mach was my favorite glove until I just got a Vapor90 and still don’t use the wrist strap on the Vapor90.

My Vapor90 is MIA, so I don't have personal experience with that model, but I wear the True 580 completely unstrapped. Once you go unstrapped, I find it hard to go back

Obviously I'm not going to be 100% right on this, but I think that Vasilevsky is the only NHL guy to be using a stock Mach glove.

    I'm basing that off of:

    1. No wrist strap flopping around
    2. The backhand being the same as Mach catchers.

I think most guys are still using Ultrasonic or 2S builds and the backhands reflect that.

Curious thing about Vasy is that he's still using a US blocker based off of the wrist cuff.

Did you M5 actually fall off your hand? Even before using the zip tie method I never had the glove actually come off.

Sure felt like it some days though.

Can't find a clear image, but almost positive Woll is using it too. I know he was at one point, because I posted it on the gram. Not sure if he still is.

Haha, or conversely, maybe some people are excessively embracing of change?

How many pros are using a stock Mach glove without a wrist strap?

Hate this argument... we are not pro goalies. How many pros use sticks that are a current model? Yes, "change for the sake of change" exists and retail release calendars force brands to change things... but just because pros don't like something doesn't mean it's not good innovation or better for average goalies.

How in the hell did you get this?

But the only thing I need to know is if the Shadow glove has a damn wrist strap?

Downgrade... Mach is Bauer's best glove to date! People are too reluctant to change

I could be mistaken but I think this was one of their earliest attempts at printing. And it's probably also the reason they don't do much printing on speedskin anymore lol

Yes, CCM is on like iteration 5 of printing. That's why it's been launched at Pro and not retail, yet. Working out  the process and doing with R&D with the pro clients.

Worn mine for around 20 skates - overall pretty happy with them, they've become my go-to base layer due to breathability and the comfort of the D3O pads.

Only concern is that the stitching on the pants where you insert the pads is beginning to fray surprisingly quickly. I remove the pads for each wash and then insert them back in when the pants have dried fully, and I do wash after every skate / hang dry.

Okay, sorry to hear that. I will share that feedback with the Aegis team.

If anything "breaks", please email Aegis. They have great customer service.

Now I see it! But I don't think Hayward had these pads for a long period of time.

Someone at Brian's probably had a picture or memory of the set? This is what I always associate this with

    welcome back!!!

I heard this was a tribute set and that's where the colorway came from.

Today I learned warrior protective equipment was used in the league as late as the 2015-2016 season.

Justin Peters using some Ritual pants at the start of that season (switched to bauer when he was sent down to Hershey later that year)

That's old... I think that is pre 1S when those pads were called OD1N. Fun fact, Peters and I were in a group together back in the day at goalie camp

Carboy was showing the update. Original picture looks to be the 20.2 due to the lack of notch.

Yes, I was highlighting the “notch” as I like to call it too

  9. 7 hours ago, ThatCarGuy said:

Looks like 20.2. His newer Hzrdus PX stuff is even thinner. Part of the reason they look so thin is they're also huge

Those are HZRDUS. Look at the thigh rise above the knee. You can see the notch from the PX line. That is on HZRDS and not on 20.2

@TheGoalNet can you wash the pants with the padding in or do you have to take it out each time? I wash my garments after every time I skate

According to D3O, their padding is not supposed to washed. The concept is that you pop the pads out, throw in the washer / dryer, and then pop them back in right before you skate

Happened again tonight. Lost one during warm ups and the other during the first. Wondering if I stretched the pockets getting the pads in/out and now they are less secured. Definitely seems like they need a little velcro to seal the pocket like player jock’s have for the cup.

I am sorry to hear that. I haven't experienced that, but I understand everyone is shaped differently, moves differently, etc.

If you are unhappy with the product to the point it's problematic, send me an email? Thegoalnet@thegoalnet.com

We can definitely take that suggestion into consideration for version 2.0

How's it tuck otherwise? With the first generation of bauer pro pants my chest would come untucked every save because of how low the waist was

No issues with that, tuck is fine. I think I just have too many years without an internal belt and it's just a preference spec, that it's not adding a ton value to me.

  14. 2 hours ago, RecoveringGoalie1 said:

Same with my CCM pants with Mach C/A. Cinch the internal belt nice and tight, use the front lace to tie the C/A semi tight to the pants and that's about it. No suspenders or further straps.

No suspenders, interesting... I am still using suspenders.
