  1. How could you forget Stanley Cup champ Antti Niemi?
  2. Alright now everyone's doing it. Since @coopaloop1234 still thought I was 13 until I posted action pictures a few months ago, I'll make this list from a 2000s kid's prospective. Keep in mind I actually follow hockey and its history so some of my answers will still be older goalies. Ducks- Jonas Hiller (Gibson if you're a baby born after 2004) And yes really the Hiller/Quick playoff battles were great back in my day Coyotes- Mike Smith (anger management) Bruins- Rask (more anger management) Sabres- Dominik Hasek (they've never had a consistent guy in my lifetime) Flames- Mikka Kiprusoff Hurricanes- Cam Ward Blackhawks- Corey Crawford (carried by good teams, from a kid in Chicago) Avalanche- Semyon Varlamov Blue Jackets- Sergei Boobtitski Stars- Kari Lehtinen Red Wings- Jimmy Howard Oilers- Fuhr (who else am I supposed to say? Viktor Fasth or Jeff Deslaurier? ASS) Panthers- Rubber-Toe Luongo Kings- Jonathan Extremely Fast Wild- Niklas Backstrom Canadiens- Carey Price Predators- Pekka Rinne Devils- Martin Brodeur (special shoutout to Corey Schneider when he first got to NJ) Islanders- Billy Smith (they had 2,000 goalies before Sorokin took over) Rangers- Henrik Lundqvist Senators- Craig Anderson (CYA alumn) Flyers- Ron Hextall (although Hart's going to become to most well known once he goes to prison for sexual assault lol) Penguins- Marc-Andre Fleury Sharks- Niemi or Jones or some other guy that was good for 2 seasons Kraken- Philip Grubauer (6 million for more injuries than seasons played with the team) Blues- Brian Elliot (was so underrated in the late 2000s and early 2010s) Lightning- Ben Bishop (for my era but Khabibulin is iconic. Vasy is getting there too) Leafs- Curtis Joseph (Holy fuck maybe if they won a playoff series once in a while we'ed remember one of their goalies. A sad Freddy Andersen or James Reimer comes to mind) Canucks- Roberto Luongo (real stud Lu in VAN. Rubber-Toe edition was in Florida when he was stiff and lived on the ir) Golden Knights- Oscar Dansk (hehe just kidding it's Malcom Subban. gotcha again!) Marc-Andre Fleury Capitals- Braden Holtby (won them a cup when nobody else could so...) Jets- Onjrei Pavelec (Hellybellybucykuk needs to play longer and have more success. when I think thrashers to jets relocation I think of Pavelec)
  3. Miller for Anaheim is wild. It should Obviously be Jonas Hiller. That Giguere guy was trash Hiller was so much better. He is also top 5 all time in playoff save percentage which really means he is the greatest goalie in NHL history. He also played for the Flames so that means he is also their most iconic goalie ever. Goat!!!! Jokes aside I would pick Giguere, Hiller, or Gibson before Miller for the ducks. Vegas is still probably Fleury but in a few years I think it could be Thompson. I just don’t see Hill being there long term for some reason. Columbus has got to be Bob. Also Parent has got to be in there for Philly!
  4. I have an extra vapor 90 I bought for practice this year. I maybe used like half the time? Once I get back from my games this weekend I can post pics. Its a nylon lace double tee, game ready palm and reinforced tee.
  5. Screenshots? Its trying to make me pay
  6. I have a double tee with nylon on my practice glove. I don’t mind that, but the single is still better imo
  7. Thank you Joann Fabrics. I swear the weirdest people are always shopping or working here. Guess I fit right in as a backwards goalie. Anyway, got the 550 cord since its a level or 2 above 425. Seems close to what comes from the manufacturer.
  8. Too soft when pucks enter it. It cushions the puck too much to where you can’t always feel it in there. With the lace I can really feel pucks snap into the pocket more.
  9. Anyone have a source for the nylon pocket lacing? I hate the skate lace pocket and was looking to just relace it myself and save myself $50
  10. Logan Thompson with one of the 75 ccm pro chest protector models and an ancient bauer neckguard
  11. How’s turning 20 in April for qualification? And I only ever play forward in mens league, perfect for observing lots of gear when I’m jamming annoyingly at rebounds
  12. Simply my objective observation of mens leagues here. For the kids, it depends heavily on the age group.
  13. Oddly enough in the Chicago suburbs it almost seems backwards. I’ve noticed this: Brians CCM Vaughn Bauer Small companies like Factory Mad, etc Warrior True
  14. Also probably doesn’t help that with social media and such, its now out there that almost no nhl goalies actually wear whatever pad that matches their graphic. Even younger kids are now aware they can’t actually have what their favorite goalie has. Now that said, plenty of people don’t care and just want the same graphic as their idol and so on. For me though, I was never able to have exactly the same gear as any of my idols, whether it was a 580 with Hiller, or Quick’s super soft leg pads. And even now, no Bauer goalies use the newest stuff. We talk all the time about how they all still use ultra sonic gloves and 2s pad flex. Hell, Askarov’s gloves are eflex 4 clones. With it being so difficult to get what nhlers actually have now, I seems super pointless for companies to worry about pushing pros as an advertisement.
  15. Whoever was running the padstracker site needs to make a comeback or goaliegearnerd needs to update the spreadsheet they have on their site. Hasn’t been updated in years
  16. Askarov with a grippy looking inner glove
  17. The hyperlites have double internal breaks in addition to the pre-curve. They can be broken in pretty soft
  18. Glad to hear the durability has gotten better. I remember the v1 pros I had totally shredded at the heel until I started putting electrical tape under the regular tape. Might jump on some Francouz pro returns on Sideline
