Fawk! The one on Sources, but when it was teeny-tiny, right? Like before they put in the Guzzo theatre? It had a certain charm to it - but then I never worked there. I did work at a butcher shop in the Marche de l’Ouest a bit further up Sources; wouldn’t recommend it
Before that one though, the Canadian Tire on Sources was on the other side of Brunswick/corner sources. Not sure if you remember it…? Circa mid-late 80s, around the same time that the store at the north end of centennial plaza was Toyville
(apologies to @seagoal for high jacking the thread, and setting a course for memory lane)
I was still a wee lad probably still in Korea depending on how mid 80s.
Marche de l’Ouest was a gem when the Arcade was still there!

Fun tidbit: Canadian Tires also used to give out paper Canadian Tire money that looked and felt like real money to offset the 3% credit card upcharge if you used Debit or cash. Some not so nice Canadians used to use them as real currency abroad. Now they just use a loyalty card like everyone else. I miss them because I used to use them to light my cigars like in the movies.

Thank you! I'm pretty much always in between Medium and Large with everything, including T-shirts lol.
I'm going to just order a Medium to know for 100% certainty and return whichever feels worse.
I know your pain being in the middle. I always joke to my wife that there needs to be an Extra Medium sizing.
Good luck my twin-sized friend.

First time leg pad buyer here: how should the GSX fit? I measured FTK (20" to 21" depending on how I measure) and ordered a Large accordingly. However, they feel much bigger than what I'm used to wearing, which are some very old, heavily used 34" pads.
I don't know if I'm just used to a smaller pad and Large/35"+1 is what fits me correctly, or if I somehow measured wrong and should get a Medium. My knee seems to land right, but there's a good bit of overlap in the thighs when I'm in the butterfly. How high up my thigh should the top of the pad reach when I'm standing?
There's no where around me that has Mediums in stock to try on.
My FTK is pretty much the same. I wear a 3X which should fit like the GSX. I was told that I was right in the middle and could get away with a Bauer Large, but I went with a Medium instead and I'm happy I went with that.

Every car model sold has ones that disappoint people. Stinks. The 90s Grand Cherokee - the ZJ - was ground breaking at the time. But, like all new from scratch models, they are plagued with issues that come up. Later generations typically work those bugs out.
I have a 1995 Wrangler today that I bought new. $12,500! No radio, no ac, no airbags or ABS. Safety? Sure. Still have it today and drive it as much as possible with 250k on it now. I've owned two 4 door wranglers, a 1999 Cherokee (shoe box), and some others.
This is the truth, I think that and coupled with the fact that the dealer at the time was pretty scummy about warrantied repairs (not just me apparently), it made the brand sour around the area. Having experienced repairing some of the Jeeps over the years, I've come to the conclusion that Jeeps are either lemons that will give you misery or will last till the end of time with basic maintenance.

I had a 90s Grand Cherokee and it scared me off of Jeep/Mopar altogether. but I think the next gen 2005~2010 was much better in terms of reliability.

On this line of thought, it would also be kinda cool if you/someone made a skate that leveraged and reused the Bauer liner (as those are for purchase separately).

Any skates that are baked or sharpened can't be returned, no exchange or refunds. But I do agree, that would make a difference.
Yeah B-Sharp told me you can bake/sharpen/play in them and if you don't like it, you can return the Trues within 30 days from purchase.
My TF9s are slightly cramped at the toe on the pinky side and it's a different feeling for sure, but I am used to it now and I don't even think about it anymore. There is also a wide version like someone else mentioned, that might serve you better. I would highly checkout B-Sharp and ask for Joe, he will be able to fit you properly.

I know it's not a solicitation for pucks, but are you looking for any from the Ottawa/Montreal region? I can get some OHL ones for you too.

Vapor90 users - quick question! I just got my glove and used it for the first time yesterday - have you found that the glove doesn't seal the ice when freezing the puck?
It seems I can either put the palm/heel of my hand down on the ice, but then the pocket of the glove is off the ice and the puck could slide out the front, or I can put the pocket down on the ice but then my heel is up and it could slip out the back.
Thoughts??
I heard from someone that it will eventually wear in and you will get a better seal on the ice. I wish I remembered whom so that I could ask more details.

Through a series of coincidences, I had the opportunity - and privilege - to meet one of our members in person last week! Strangely, we were both playing out as skaters though - lol!
My buddy told me about a pickup game he was going to join, having not played in full gear for a good 20 years. When he showed me the lineups in BenchApp, I saw what looked like @johncho’s name, so I messaged him to see if it was him. It was - and what’s more, he invited me to join them as a skater. I accepted, then went directly to PIAS to get gear, since I have NEVER suited up as a player. Was completely gassed, but had a blast - and a nice West Island connection between me, my buddy, and John! A great member on the forum, John is even nicer in person. Thrilled to have had the chance to connect!
I hadn't skated out in a long while, and it was super fun. Hope to see you out there more often.

Yeah I had both as well, the Supreme ones hurt my legs and came loose mid-game every game. Vapour ones are just perfect.
-
He looked like he dislocated his shoulder or something in the beginning and then came back after still in pain. What a tough player, I'm super impressed at how he battled through it all.

I thought the CVTs were a later thing for the Subarus, I believe the 2.5i base still had the 4-speed which I mean wasn't great either. I think that was the first gen of the Muranos, and they had some design issues (which the owner may have resolved I dunno).
With either of these cars, do spend for the independent Pre-purchase inspection, it will save you so much in headache and more money. I've seen some nightmare scenarios.
I personally would go for the Subaru it's a better more capable ride (especially with our winters) and a refined design over the course of many years, but at that price range it's a bit of a toss up which will be better for you.

Another question is if anyone's tried the new ProSharp Ellipse.

What is the stock profile on TRUE steel? I kinda like it so far.
I used to SAM before and that felt decent too but less agile slightly? Too many variables to consider though

@MTH How you holding up buddy?

Losing Gudas early in the game didn't help either.

Do you have exposed velcro on the chin cup strap in your helmet? Looks like velcro burn to me.
This looks like it imo, and it's on one side, which would make sense. If so, then cut a opposing velcro part to match it up to the exposed part

As someone who has and is being coached by a european goalie coach the past several months, I can say for a fact that it’s a game changer. I wish I was coached this way sooner.
What is the main difference? Just more emphasis on movement?

Yeah when I tie knots with leather it never seems to land where it supposed to and then it stretches as I'm making the knot. I'll give this a try.

Secondary Markets for Full Right Gear
in Gear

It seems like from what I can see at the local youth level that there's much more Full Right kids starting up now than there were before. FR gear may become more and more available in the future I bet.
