  1. Thanks, I really appreciate that. I miss the Marine Corps, a lot. Same with me though. I'm getting all the nice shit for myself now as an adult since I couldn't then as a child. Unfortunately that time is starting to come to an end though as my first born is due in July. That's a funny story about the oral surgery. Kudos to your parents for rewarding you like that haha.
  2. I wanna delete some of these emails so here's one more batch lol
  3. Hahaha nice. Be sure to post some pictures. Photographer took 100 pictures of my game last night. There's a lot of good ones of me in there. I still have some older ones to post as well though.
  4. And I appreciate the kind words as well. My parents could never afford all the good stuff when I was growing up, at least not until I was able to start chipping in. I think that has a lot to do with splurging for all this stuff as an adult. The mask and my first custom set of Vaughns were all paid for with money I made on my last deployment to Iraq so I had plenty to burn. I'd never be able to do that again. When I got my current set I just bought the pads. I paid for most of the glove with the rebound rewards I got from GM, and the blocker is still my V4 that I just sent back to Vaughn to get refurbed. I actually just got it back last week from Jason(Keeps33) for its second refurb. He went to town on it. I'll have to post some before and after pictures of it. He did an amazing job on it. I highly recommend him for any gear repair you guys need.
  5. This was a save Idk wtf I was doing with my stick here
  6. Yea he was a big loss the the hockey industry that's for sure. I didn't know him personally, only a few emails/phone calls and the GSBB.
  7. I guess I will get it going. This mask is, wow, almost 5 years old already. This is a copy of the first post I made on GSBB when I received finished pictures. Its a Pro's Choice Vapor painted by Ron Slater and as you can tell it is based off of the mask of the legend himself, Mike Richter, but with a bit of a personal touch to it. As I describe what each part means it will really bring the whole story together and show how each piece of art relates to each other. I hope you guys appreciate it as much as I cherish it... This side is a tribute to the men and women who lost their lives on 9/11. On the left is the famous picture of 3 firefighters raising a flag at Ground Zero. This picture is often compared to the famous WWII picture of the Marines and Navy Corpsman raising the flag on Iwo Jima, Japan. Next to that is obviously the twin towers. This side is a tribute to my time and love for the Marine Corps. It features the flag raising on Mount Suribachi, Iwo Jima, Japan from WWII. It is also the scene depicted in the Marine War Memorial. Next to that is two Warrior Memorials. When a Marine is killed in combat, it is a memorial constructed to honor the sacrifice he made. It is made up of a kevlar helmet perched on top of an M-16 rifle standing behind a pair of combat boots. Two Marines from my company were killed at the World Trade Center on 9/11. Unfortunately I never had the pleasure of meeting these brave men but the Marines who did know them do a great job of keeping their memories alive and passing stories of their heroism to the Marines who have joined the company since their passing. The chin features a yellow ribbon which is for support of our Armed Forces. The back plate shows one of my favorite quotes. It is an excerpt from a speech President Bush gave after 9/11 prior to our invasion of Afghanistan.
  8. Haha thanks man! It's kinda tough to make out in the pictures but one side has the Marine War Memorial(Iwo Jima flag raising) and 2 Warrior Crosses(a pair of boots with a rifle standing between them and a helmet on the buttstock) to honor two Marines from my old unit who died at the WTC on 9/11. On the other side is the Twin Towers and the scene from Ground Zero of the firefighters raising the flag that is always compared to the scene from Iwo Jima. I'll post pictures in the mask thread so you can get a better idea.
  9. Same, air flow and also almost like an extra cushion to aid in absorbing shots.
  10. Love those Koho pads, such a simple yet awesome graphic.
  11. IF, a big IF(first born on the way), I ever get another set of gear I am thinking about going with a vintage tan set. I usually don't give a shit if I match my team jersey but lately I've been thinking it would be nice for once. It's been a while lol. Not that tan/brown would perfectly match my team which is Black/Yellow/White but it would surely be better than Red/White/Blue haha
  12. Thanks! Yea they gave me a hard time about it until I told them how I wanted it. All it really is is a vertical stitch retro graphic and I asked them to add the V6 graphics as an overlay. When I originally asked what I wanted they thought I wanted the whole V6 graphic and stitching with red knee rolls. They wouldn't do that but they had no problem doing my idea. The Passau sticks were great. Absolute tanks. I bought a Custom 3 pack a few years back and they lasted a long time. I am using Warrior sticks now though.
  13. I have all of those except for amazingpads, I'll check that one out
  14. Discuss everything mask related in here, all brands are welcome.
  15. These are from 2 seasons ago, sometime early last year. edit - WOW that was much easier to add pictures by dropping them in the media section than it was getting the code from tinypic.
  16. So here is an old one from a few years ago when I was with my former team. I screenshotted a ton of pictures but I won't overload the thread all at once.
  17. Oh ok, to be honest I figured you mean "ones" but I wasn't sure what you meant. I don't recall posting many on there. I have a bunch more recent ones but I gotta remember to screenshot them on my phone.
  18. Gotcha. I was never a fan of tucking, myself.
