  1. I've tried Bauer, but I haven't had much luck. I wouldn't mind CCM or True. I would prefer a more modern durable stick. I would go for something mid-price point, because the $300 US sticks break too easily.
  2. I'm looking for 24" full right sticks. I have 26" sticks, but I'm looking for something lighter and shorter to have a less pronounced 7-hole. The only place I'm seeing anything is Sideline Swap, so I'm curious if y'all have some other leads.
  3. Lefebvre gloves. The Reebok glove I got when I started playing in goal was horrible. I couldn't close it properly after 3 years of use! Runner up are Vaughn chest protectors. I had an old Vaughn Vision, then a newer Vaughn V7 Pro Carbon, and finally a pro return unit. I got stingers to the arms like they were no one's business.
  4. Interesting. So the arms are adjustable to a certain degree, but custom is the best (and most expensive) option for someone with odd body proportions (e.g. S torso, M arms).
  5. I'm curious what you should do if you have a shorter torso but longer legs? I've mostly worn Large chest protectors, but I wear small T-shirts due to my waist, and M Warrior fits the best on me. I'm curious what sizes I would fit in CCM and Bauer.
  6. Is there a link to that video? I would like to see it. Maybe that can explain how Bauer, and to some degree Brian's, have the explosive rebounds that they are known for. Maybe Warrior can catch up to them with the G8s.
  7. Wow. It is crazy how Bauer's skin really makes the rebounds fly. Of course, the construction helps too. I would imagine Warrior pads are closer to a Vapour in construction than to a Supreme, but Warrior doesn't have the CORTech equivalent that can launch rebounds beyond the blue line like a Supreme or Optik pad.
  8. Interesting. How does stiffness correlate with rebound strength? Both Vapour and Supreme lines have explosive rebounds, but Supreme is the stiff line and Vapour the softer line.
  9. Trav posted a review of them, but he's the only one who has done so at this point. I'm curious if anyone else has. I'll take a look at G6 reviews. Maybe there is a way to make Warrior rebounds harder. Until then, Brian's and Bauer are my best options.
  10. How do G7 rebounds compare to Bauer and Brian's rebounds? AFAIK, Warrior rebounds are longer than Vaughn and EFlex rebounds, but they have historically not been as long as Bauer or Brian's rebounds. Has this changed with the G7? I'm curious, because I'm trying to figure out what would be a good replacement for my Ultrasonics down the road.
  11. Actually, I found another pair of Ultrasonics. I first tried a pair of 35" (L) Ultrasonics, but later found a pair of XL (36) Ultrasonics that fit me better.
  12. Congratulations to you and the future Mrs. Indykrap! I'm a similar height, but I'm in the opposite boat. I'm more legs than torso. I would still prefer a shorter stick, if only to take away the 7-hole. If the GSX is good, and has full right 24" sticks available, I'll think about buying a pair.
  13. That is why I went with PAW. I was able to get a custom glove/blocker set for around 800, including shipping. That's not cheap, but definitely cheaper than the big boys. Bauer would have cost me about 1200 (1167).
  14. Does anyone have a full right 580 glove they would be willing to part with? I found this glove on SidelineSwap, but I'm not sure how good it is. I was also thinking about buying a Warrior G6 and putting in a 90° liner to see how it works before committing to buying an actual 580 glove. What would y'all recommend?
  15. Will the traditional ProSharp profilers still be available?
  16. I've tried tucking, but it never worked for me. I would always have my suspenders fall off my shoulders when I tucked.
  17. Warrior is pretty common for beer league goalies in my area. I've seen one goalie with CCM pads, one with Kenesky, and a few with Bauer, including myself. I've seen one or two goalies locally with Brian's pads, but none in Hockey North America. The young guys often wear Bauer or CCM, with the occasional Vaughn or Brian's pad.
  18. That is true. 1/2 on 4mm is equivalent to 3/8 on 3mm, or so I heard.
  19. Wow. Is this convergent evolution (Bauer and Warrior happen to be the same size)?
  20. Large in Bauer is, at least nominally, a 35" pad. That said, Warrior runs small. I would need a 36" Warrior pad. Warrior has a 1.5" thigh rise as stock.
  21. Basically, Brian's inherited Brian's name, but nothing that Brian's did since the 2000s involved him. Maybe that is why Brian's and Vaughn pads are very similar.
  22. Is there any relation between the Heaton pads and the current Brian's pads? I wore Brian's Demons (old, pre-lockout Brian's butterfly pads), and would have gone with Optik pads if I haven't fallen in love with Bauer. Brian's and Vaughn are very similar in terms of performance characteristics (Primo and Quickslide are very similar substances), but I am curious if Brian Heaton contributed more than his name to the SubZero, Optik, and/or G-Netik lines.
  23. I wear Ultrasonic. I might go Mach once my Ultrasonic pads no longer work.
