  1. Congrats and good luck @coopaloop1234
  2. @Lucky Pucker Chevy was the man back in my day (though that was mostly because he was the keeper on the hometown team). That said - he did get a lot of unwarranted venom spewed at him. He was a stud in that 3-1 series deficit against the North Stars - back to back shutouts in games 5/6 I believe. Those were the days - we didn't have cable but I'd listen to every single game on the radio. Shit. I'm old(er).
  3. @CamWardFan - nice. If you ever want to go fancy(er) I think a red base coat with a white cage window (and then your stickers over top) would complete the look nicely. You could even keep the black lettering since you've got the black accents.
  4. If I'm recalling correctly - in order to make a Warrior glove a "pro" palm - there is an insert to add to the liner. Think sheet of foam that goes into a flap in the liner.
  5. @A.YOUNGoalie13 - here's a shot of the original RBK PII glove (before they "rebranded" as Reebok) for reference...
  6. Based on the shape and cuff - looks like the old "RBK PII".
  7. Sooo legal - but penalized for looks??? Shiiit. I should be racking up fines left and right. Was a wonder Hank wasn't run out of the league.
  8. I tend to agree with you. Just couldn't remember what the cutoff was from JRZ/old skool padz to the new fandangled, space age/Bauer only approach.
  9. @estogoalie FYI - JRZ was THE builder for Itech back in the day (RX9, X-Wing, etc.) and then became the builder for Bauer when Bauer bought up Itech. I forget the last line they did with Bauer (Reactor maaaybe?) before parting ways and putting out their own brand.
  10. (Kind of) close - those two gents are most commonly known as The Bushwackers - Luke (right) and Butch (left)... but of course went by other names in other territories.
  11. Spot on @chakal... and appreciate the wrassling reference.
  12. I think some of you are missing the point I was trying to make... 1) Do your research (including asking "others"). 2) Weigh the pros and cons as I'm willing to bet no matter what you are asking about - you will always find both if you dig even just a little. 3) Make an informed decision. For some that might mean you need a 90% confidence/10% doubt ratio... or 75%/25%... or 51%/49%. Spoiler alert - even the most informed decisions can backfire - every once and awhile you just have to bite the bullet and try shit for yourself (and it might not end up how you expected). This doesn't include devolving into internet pissing matches and stating your point over and over ad nauseum. Make your point/provide your feedback and then move on. People will either take it or leave it. I don't see a lot of value in asking the same questions, getting the same answers and then arguing about it... over and over and over... to the tune of a dozen or so posts in two pages worth of a thread - just clutters the board and makes me want to avoid certain threads. But hey - this is the internet so I shouldn't expect anything less. Sometimes you just have to agree to disagree and go your separate ways. End rant.
  13. I know - we can smell our own you charming, handsome devil you.
  14. @coopaloop1234 - isn't everybody "convincing" on the internet when they refuse to listen and ramrod their opinion over and over again until everyone else just gives up and/or ignores them? Seem like winning to some I'd be willing to bet. We're all winners on the internet... unless we are the ones getting irritated by the lack of common sense/civility. Then we're just... angry.
  15. Seems like this all boils down to - if you have done legitimate research and have reservations about a product - DON'T buy it. If you've done legitimate research, satisfied your own curiosities and have a level of comfort and confidence in a product - DO buy it. If you don't know what you're talking about - consider talking less... and maybe listen more intently to those who might know what they are talking about. Just food for thought type stuff... for the internet in general. World peace type stuff and the like.
  16. RIP Bunny. Thanks for passing along the news @seagoal - never fun being the messenger when it comes to things like this.
  17. After by pretty much all accounts being a douche everywhere he's been to this point - I think he's probably earned it.
  18. Intentional. I set 'em up - you knock 'em down. Indeed - since the bulbous black mass betwixt the legs is highlighted ever so perfectly by the stark contrast of white socks/lighter colored wall. Sorry about that @ser33 - Google is not generally going to be your friend for my type of humor/sarcasm.
  19. @seagoal during the summer my 6' - 4" buddy occasionally tends the net on the other end while my 5' - 4" frame does its best to tend to the other. Its funny to watch him and how he "fits" in the net versus knowing how I need to move and how I (literally) fit IN THE NET. Its like real life Mutt and Jeff. Anyways - I'd be fine with any of those guys winning. Even Markstrom has the rags to riches thing going on so that redemptive arc is always a feel good story.
  20. I have always preferred watching the smaller guys play. Guys like Bishop always just seem to lumber around and have the puck hit them (which is a credit to them). If I'm watching I'll take controlled chaos any day. Plus its always fun to see David go up against Goliath... and win.
  21. Interesting that the lineup consists of only one behemoth along with two smaller guys... there's still hope for me.
