  1. Ordered these custom from The Goalie Crease a while back. Love the set have just moved on to a set of PX3's. Pads are a 35 + 2 Glove has a pro palm in it (glove is sold) Asking $600 Cdn for the set - Asking $400 for pads and blocker Would be willing to sell pieces separately. Located in Kitchener, Ont Shipping is at the expense of buyer.
  2. How is the unit working out for you? Seen it in person yesterday and was very impressed
  3. I had the chance to feel some today and they don't seem like a bad stick! Does anyone have nay experience with these sticks?
  4. I'm currently in older Reebok 11k pro pants with a Bauer ultra pro (the goalie crease) spec chest and I cinch the inner belt snug, tuck the chest and tight it down with the laces through the front loop of the chest. Then snug the outer belt and suspenders over the shoulders.
  5. If that's what they do to the glove I think I might be sold on it!!!
  6. Agreed, the lower the caliber the more unpredictable the play.
  7. I mean personally I also find it hard when the shot comes in super slow to direct it into the corner and what I have been doing myself for these is since the shot is coming in sower I have more time to actually centre myself to the shot and cradle it and usually not allow a rebound and stop the play.
  8. I didn't realize that Brian's would possibly make me an original Gnetik I should talk to the boys at the crease about that. Interesting on the Vaughn glove as I have never liked the feel of there gloves before but I'm not against giving them a whirl. I did find that the more recent versions of the Gnetik became very pancake ish to me and the new Iconik at least from the pics seems more similar to my original gnetik.
  9. Yeah I came to realize this as now that I have been using the 600 with my True set since August. I think I might have to go to the Crease in November and see Rance to try on the new Iconik glove as I'm having a hell of a time adjusting
  10. That's exactly what I thought too. Then you listen to ingoalmedia and the hockey shop and they tell you it's a 600
  11. Just to confirm I'm not going crazy these break angles are different right lol??
  12. I myself recently went through this same process as it was time for me to replace my Bauer Reactor 6000's from 2013. I am lucky enough that I live close to The Goalie Crease so I went in to see Rance and we went over my options. Going in I was wanting something that was a touch stiffer then my current pad and my gut was telling me to stick with Bauer as I had used them all my life (I know new Bauer is much different then old Bauer). Pre-covid I was going to put an order in for a custom 2x set but we all know what happened with COVID so that put a damper on that purchase. Regardless I was thinking Hyperlite but Rance did mention that they had much more "give" to them compared to the 2x. I ended up trying on the hyperlites which felt good along with the Mach which I actually preferred for shape and feel. So I was going to go with a mach pad but ultrasonic stiffness. Here is the kicker he then told me to try on one last pad which was the Px3. It felt amazing and very well built. I ended up ordering a custom set of PX3's. Once I got them on the ice I can tell you that they are drastically more stuff then my old Bauer pads however it only took me about 3 to 4 skates to get adjusted to them and they move so seamlessly with me now it is amazing and th stiffer thigh rise has certainly saved a few goals already. Sizing wise I was in a 35 + 2 Bauer and had to go down to a 33 + 2 in the PX3's. Sizing wise I also fit the same mold as you, I was in the top end of the M or a L. If I had gone Bauer I think I would have gone M for the Mach and L for the hyperlite based on how the pad was sitting on my legs.
  13. If you like the "smoothness and mobility" that you had with the 3x wouldn't you want to stay with the hyperlite stiffness or at least 2x instead of having them a touch stiffer? On the other hand I'm always up for new gear lol
  14. I've had this same debate over the years. I've taken a few shots off the collarbone and then go buy a neck guard use it for a game or two and then take it off. Then I get a dangler and then take it off as I hate how it blocks my down low vision. Right now I have a dangler again as I wait for my Vaughn SLR shirt as I hope that solves some issues but if not I might have to bite the buttel and grab a kova and just adjust to the break in phase.
  15. Yes I did look at those my only concern with them is that the spot I keep getting hit on is right at the top of the shoulder where the shoulder/chest meet if that makes any sense and it doesn't appear like the Aegis foams cover that but the Vaughn one seems to stretch across the entire front/clavicle/shoulder area
  16. Did you ever end up getting the SLR2 undershirt. I took a nasty shot of my shoulder yesterday for the second time in 5 months and I'm thinking I might want to try this one at least until i get my new chesty.
  17. When I look at the shape of the glove it looks to me at least like they have gone more in shape towards the original gnetik glove when it was released compared to the flatter presenting one of the last few years.
  18. I feel your pain on the 590 glove. I had a Reebok Revoke for a good 6 months that was essentially a second blocker, could not catch a thing with it. Have never wanted to go back to a 590 since!
  19. I've had a few skates now with the 4mm steel and what a difference, feels way more natural then what the 3mm steel was and I feel like i have more control and stronger pushes. The boot on the new CCM skates feels great, different then my Bauer's but certainly comfortable and now with the new steel I think they will be great.
  20. You could also be completely correct on the transition from Bauer to CCM skates as I have been in Bauer for over 10 years now but I was previously in CCM and Rbk skates. The difference in the blades was not as significant once I had the blade profiled but the biggest difference i noticed on the 3mm blades was the bite I would get on pushes in the butterfly
  21. I ended up getting the 3mm blades profiled at 24/28 and dropped the sharpening down to 7/16 and it felt way better but the blade dulled out by the end of the skate it was really weird. Ended up talking to Tyler from Tydan and he got me a 4mm blade and profiled it at 20/28 should hopefully have it on Monday
  22. Yes I was wondering about the same profile as well butI wasn't sure which was more aggressive that being the Detroit 2 or the Same.
