  1. He just gives goalie names; that doesn't mean spit to me. Is it a Warwick, Harrison, CCM or Bauer/Itech? I have no clue! And to add- I will not know what shell I can fit into UNTIL he does the positive head cast, and that's when he starts. Again- pro level protection starting at a lexan price.; what is there REALLY to complain about? But as I say- Michel is so fantastic that this is not much of a criticism.
  2. If I had one criticism, it's not that he is entirely clear with which shells he actually sells. It could be the language barrier. But this is minor. I guess since I have not asked the right questions, I don't quite know what he sells. I also can't name shell shapes, it's embarrassing! Roy's is so distinctive compared to the others! They kind of all look the same to me, especially with paint on them. Like I say- very minor criticism. So far- I have been very happy with how Michel has dealt with me. When he does my positive face cast, I will ask him to show me pix of all of the shells my head fits into. I also got the news that my helmet will be started this time next month.
  3. There would actually be holes to sew through, just like on HDPE for certain parts like player shin guards. A needle could not penetrate laminated CF.
  4. Update: was told my casting was good; will still not know what fits my head until he does the positive casting, which is not done UNTIL he starts the process, which is at the end of this month. Michel runs a tight ship and I have thusly been impressed!
  5. I'm with @Fullright here- too much risk there, except to practise your paint skills on. I don't know what is in those shells. I won't buy from ANYONE that won't disclose their build techniques. I have never asked Tony how he builds...
  6. Yes- well then let's merge all of these splinter groups into one Happy Family!
  7. In my case, I would have to sell a LOT of things before I would not have ANY backup stuff LOL
  8. That's what I told the wife it could cost to fix the pool and we needed a new car this summer. I got to HATE all of the unexpected guests who would over-stay their welcome from that stupid pool... Yes- the lead time is agonisingly long. I am actually fine with it, myself. I still need to see what shell I fit into, as I want something unique. Hoping for Roy, but I fear my head is not big enough! But I broke up the wait time by waiting until now to do the mould. Now it only feels like two months wait rather than six!
  9. Why yes! We need more members, just like AARP and CARP!!!!! Your application should be in the mail for the SOMG club, standing for Short Old Man Goalies. Meetings at 8:30 a.m the second Tuesday of every week!!!
  10. It has a BAD leak. Next year is when it gets fixed or filled in.
  11. Got the wifey to agree to mould my head; mid mould pix to come...
  12. Actually- if you're LUCKY, you'll get there!
  13. Remember when AARP limited their membership to 65 and over? Then it was 60 and over, then 55 and over and now, you get membership applications once you hit your mid '40s to remind you of what's ahead... I have a wife who is 100% in your club. We've been married a very long time; she calls me someone 12 years younger but 15 years older in the head! But hey- in North America, you're not called an "Old Age Pensioner".
  14. We're extending it to mid/upper 40's, under 70" tall. Just those of us who are younger have to provide metamucil and tennis balls (for the walkers) for the meetings and either have to be naturally, noticeably grey or balding or combination of both (I am noticeably grey, thank you very much!). Arthritic limbs are a bonus, and I have that in spades.
  15. Mid 40's and above and under 70" tall!
  16. Thank you! The unfortunate part is that I really DO need fibre!!!!
  17. In order not to upset the apple cart, I have started an old man topic. But I had better get going as the senior discount at the Sizzler starts in a minute!

I learnt to drive in a Firebird.

Fair enough. To clarify my remarks- yes, the modern CCM stuff is essentially Koho; however, the Koho stuff is just like the difference between a Chevy Camaro and a Pontiac Firebird, which is the same thing in slightly different packaging. The CCM were designed as their own, but the Koho gets slightly differing cosmetics; essentially the same pad. Yes- you could argue that it is Koho through and through with Lefevre running the show. It depends on how you see it. The most embarrassing thing was the Great Gazoo Jofa helmet- Jofas were known for being very low profile helmets with long lasting liners and then CCM comes out with this huge, ugly and full of bicycle helmet foam monstrosity with the Jofa name on it!!!

For me, this is CCM Koho, not Koho when they were an independent company. Just like the last Jofa helmet was nothing like any Jofa I knew, the current Koho, whilst trying to look like the old stuff, just isn't. But that's me. That being said- I would buy a Revolution graphic blocker for old time's sake!
