  1. I have been dinged in the head four times wearing my helmet with just a “thonk!”. No ringing ears, no headaches, nothing. I did get into a collision that knocked my helmet off having to be my own defenseman.
  2. It just proves that many still want to emulate the pros.
  3. The biggest thing is to prevent too much deformation of the material on impact and disperse the shock. There are several ways to do it.
  4. Carbon fibre would be best used in the inner-most layer on a masque. The outer most layer would be the worst place! Weirdly enough, when building bike frames, kevlar only went where there was direct impacts, like chain stays. I understand where Michel comes from as far as not using carbon fibre on a masque.
  5. If it works well, you don’t think about it. ?
  6. You shoulda gone “Billy Smith” or “Ron Hextall” on ol’ Pacifico #44. He was getting in your grille big time!!!!
  7. Put a simple water mark on your pix. That would solve the problem on content theft. Don’t know what a gear slut is; they give it away for free?
  8. I had decided after getting pinged in the jaw that combos are not that safe any longer; However- I may have to reverse engineer the Jofa helmet/mask. I like the protection for the back of the head from a helmet.
  9. Ahhhhh! You speak of the Onesie! Not mine, don’t own one. That bloke is a former police officer.
  10. Never saw it that way, meaning that I did not think you were knocking the medical appliance company buying them. There is probably more precision in medical devises than in aircraft in some ways!
  11. Actually- the medical composites industry has tolerances as high as aircraft. I was actually thinking of expanding into prosthetics before my business-killing design got sold! An engineering student who was testing my bike parts had a brother who had lost a limb and approached me. I really wanted to do it. This young lady ended up working for a prosthetics company, and was instrumental in a few cool designs. She was very fun to work with. I know which one you speak of now. What I just showed you was MKII of the SK2000. It was my favourite because it was slimmer and more form-fitting, though I had to cut out the ears to make it fit over them!!!! Regrettably, it developed a crack and is relegated to skate shoppe decor duty! The one you speak of is on my Instagram @bunnydevildude . It’s not on this phone. I’ll have to pull it off my iPad...
  12. A Shawn Schroeder SK2000 clone: Mod edit - pictures were deleted by user, sorry everyone
  13. Well, my new meds somewhat work. But the damndest thing is that my BM habits are still a bit sporadic. All that and now I have to drink three times as much water or my pee gets thick. But then drinking all that water makes me get up four times in the night to pee-IF I can get it out!!!! This getting old shit sucks!!!!! If you can say this with your friends in a restaurant and everybody can one up you on it, THEN you can join!!!!!
  14. Hey- I resemble that remark!!!!
  15. I remember speaking with Gary when buying my first HM-30 cage. Nice bloke. I thought he would be around a few years longer...
  16. I should ask Michel this, but does anybody who has a 960 from Michel use off the shelf 960 cages or is it a Michel-only cage for that masque?
  17. Things are looking up. He even asked me what types of things customers would be interested in, which is a GREAT sign if you ask me.
  18. My wife will kill me, but soon I will be ordering a spare fibreglass masque from Protechsport as I can’t bear to think that my CCM fibreglass helmet may not be the safest thing compared to a Protechsport. Yes- I have abandoned the combo. I should have done that awhile ago when I got pinged in the jaw. If Shawn (Kustom Composite) gets back going, I will probably have him flesh out an experiment we had discussed.
  19. Thanks!!!! Whilst not making up for the rust that has occurred over the last 9 weeks, the masque was not a distraction. The mask did not make me play worse; my illness made me play poorly from all the rust!!!!! I could see perfectly out of the masque. It is light and balanced. It fits PERFECTLY. The ONLY drawback is the wait and sometimes the wait does get extended without much notice, but the quality and price makes up for those factors. Or you could say there is no such thing as free lunch. Just have something okay to tide you over for your seven months!
