That's really unfortunate, though I'm impressed they kept it up at 8 weeks for as long as they did. I was told by Brian's reps that it's like 25-30 weeks right now, corroborated by their website and one of the kids I play with (when he's home in Summer) not being able to order gear for his next season because of the lead times. I think Vaughn is in a similar boat too, but I'm not entirely certain.
Was quoted 20 weeks for pants back in May with Vaughn

fit 1?!?!? Where did ya pick that up? You had a fit 2 before correct? Any big differences between the two?
Snagged it up on Sideline within hours of it posting.
I'm currently something advertised as a Varlamov return with -1 arms. Not 100% sure of the size as the tag is missing. Could be a Fit 2 or Fit 3.
Haven't been skating recently due to hip issues so I haven't really been nerding out over gear as much

Now I realized that you mean suspender over chest protector to hold it in place. Never tried, but looks like Hanks solution works.
Lundy's Vaughn was custom cut at the bottom to accommodate for the suspender attachments at the belt

Well I did this all wrong..
I started including 90/90s into my stretching routine a while ago, but this is a great video and very helpful for what I'm trying to do. Thank you for providing this info and being honest about it. I need to incorporate a lot of these into my regular workouts.
90 90s are great if you're advanced, but if your butterfly looks like it does in those pics you are probably compensating a lot in your spine. I've been practicing FRC for the last 8 months and I'm not even close to a seated 90/90 yet.
The whole juice of the routine is in the PAILS/RAILS stuff, so if you're stretching without that push/pull you're missing out on a lot of possible improvement. You want to isolate a specific joint/muscle group and get it to work to create change in both your physical and neurological systems. If other areas are doing work simultaneously you won't get the maximal benefit

Here are some pictures of me in my butterfly and stance. Are these too short? Do I need another Inch? Or am I just not flexible enough to close my five hole and need to continue my stretching regimen?
I know some people cheat and get taller pads to compensate for lack of flexibility, which I understand but I don't want to buy a new pair of pads if I can get my hips in better shape.
Thanks!
IMO (I am not a PT, athletic trainer, or a Doctor) and I apologize for derailing the main content of the thread
You are going to hit a point where your gains from simply stretching will cap out, and probably very early in the process as well. What you are actually looking for is not flexibility, but end range strength.
Basically, flexibility in the athletic trainer world does not mean much. You need to be training for mobility (mobility = flexibility + strength), which means not just being able to get to an end range but having the strength to get there and back to neutral in a controlled manner.
For butterfly specifically, you need to train hip internal rotation, which means strengthening your hip flexor, abductors, glute med and the surrounding musculature. These are the push/pull groups that help you push and hold your ankles out in the butterfly.
Look up some FRC (Functional Range Conditioning) stuff. Definitely stay away from the 90 90 stretch, she covers it here. Start with a Hip CARs routine (easily searched), do these, and close with another set of CARs.
If you feel like you've capped your gains after doing this stuff for a while you may want to see a PRI (Postural Restoration Institute) trained PT as you may have underlying compensations that are limiting your capability

I've been wanting to announce it but in all honesty I have no decent pictures to go with it lol
For those wondering, I've signed with a J20 team in Tumba all the way in Sweden. It's a tier 2 junior team directly connected to a division 1 (tier 3) professional team. Super excited to have this opportunity since I'd never been to Europe until I went to try out with the team a month or so ago.
Heck yes

Not at all! My next game tomorrow I’m going to try the pads without the slide plates. The plates do allow me to play roughly a foot farther out than I normally do because I’m able to slide fast enough to get to back door shots. That said I was unable to do knee shuffles, struggled to keep 5 hole closed because my knees would slide apart, and occasionally over slid on rebounds. Also considering doing dual toe ties using skate lace as a limiting strap and stock ARS straps for rotation
I'm kind of in the same boat with PPF on my Trues. Found I'm slightly overturning my pivots from my knees. Ended up taking off the PPF on calf and am debating removing it at the knees too

Welcome to the Dark Side where we stand up, let the puck hit our pads, play our angles and don't drop into prayer mode on every shot ....
It's funny how things come full circle.
Coaching in the late 90s went from "meet the shot on your feet" to "slide and make it hit you" and now we're back to "meet the shot on your feet"

You're not kidding. I had it on a leased car. Lease ended, returned the car to the dealership, and they still kept calling to get me to subscribe.
They called me every other day for a month trying to get me back in.
Also got postcards/letters/other material from them in the mail weekly.Car I have now has 5G/Spotify built in so I'm well away from them

@Puckstopper Are you still on the 15/20/28 profile? Thoughts?
@Chenner29 Are you still on the 24/28 profile? Thoughts?
I had been using the 20/32 for a while. Switched to the SAM for the past 2 years. It's been ok. Just bought some NOS Tydans with a CAG 60/120 already on them. Excited to try them out, but curious about others experiences.
Yeah, I haven't thought about changing my profile in a while.
Wishy washy on the SAM. I had it put on my Konekts for the couple weeks I had them and it seemed to work really well with those skates. Not so much on my one piece Trues. Didn't like the short front profile as I'm a toe pusher.
Good luck with the CAGs. You'll have unreal stability and pushes but they will feel like skis. Maybe get them cut a little shallower than you're used to. SAM has a 50mm flat spot, that CAG has 120 so more than double lol
