I think if Netminder actually got to have more open of discourse, they might not have become as caustic of an individual, and yes I'm totally aware of his propensity to immediately view everything as an attack.

Some background on this.  He was banned from GGSU for starting arguments with "hot takes" like he did here, then reporting posts to Facebook that mildly called him out (ie. "don't be an idiot").

Then he got himself banned from GoalieGearNerd's account for posting some caustic things re: Warrior gear. I think if you go back far enough on here, he started a whole thread about it.

He came on here full time and the behavior didn't change.

After I (thought I) banned him, he could still report things, just couldn't post.  So he reported them until I actually banned him from interacting with the board.

I don't know if the dude had some weird obsession with being a lightning rod/victim or if he got kicks off seeing other people get in trouble/banned but it got real old real quick as a moderator on this forum.  I'd guess the other mods feel the same

That makes more sense. Matches his helmet and his True colour set lines up.

Dude used to wear Warrior G5 gear. Can't say I'm surprised he's trying the Warrior catcher again after some time in Lefevre gear.

I naturally squint so it was easy for me to see

Plus if you look closely, I think the CCM logo is actually blue Canuck colours, and the efex 6 logo on the boot is green Canuck colours, so this has been intentionally done and I guess is his setup for the year? 😅

I suppose we'll find out but it seems like this isn't just a generic white set he picked up to fit with his next team...

but i just wanna be a brat and start unfounded rumors

Warrior glove on an NHL goalie.  Not exactly sure but here are the current goalies in the roster,  looks like Boyko has a 4 in his #

They tagged Boyko in that image. So it is him.

Interesting change since all previous images of him have been in all CCM gear and using a 590.

Back of the glove has Lindbom embroidered on it

In desperation, your feeble mind attempts to see the pad graphic as Bauer inspired. Anything to to shield your weak psyche from the truth - the graphic is basically a Warrior graphic and, likely soon, you'll be wearing these abominations on your legs.

    Welcome to hell.

Careful, I know where you live

The HZRDUS graphic is actually shaping up, in my opinion, to look decent and/or very flexible. As I posted on, I believe, TGN's post, I think people will look back on this graphic positively in like 6 years, but the hate-dumping on Insta is nuts right now. It's been growing on me.

I'm getting a bit of a Bauer TotalOne vibe with the way it's used here.

Like @Puckstopper said it is 100% a feel thing. I strayed from the 580 with a set of custom 2X Pro and the glove felt so wrong I sold the whole set. I went back to CCM w/ Axis... and the 580 felt more normal to me... but just couldn't get it to ever feel "right." Fast forward 18 months or so and I picked up a new pro-stock True 580... single T... and it's glorious. Only worn it twice now... so it still needs some break in time... but it's the closest to what I think a "real 580" is. So FWIW @IpaddyTECH... if you want a full 580 experience and order a custom set... do yourself a favor and pick up a True... and IMO a single T.

I have a feeling that would by denied by Whitmore in a heartbeat. Isn't that just a small boot foil?

No protrusion, just a hard piece there

Not sure what it would do either lol

The trend from pretty much everyone is to move away from that solid, raised, fused boot.

Ultrasonic moved away from that a bit, and Mach even more so. I can't see them reverting back two generations to something that's not sought after in the market.

Lame, steep boots were great lol

With pad toe box to post becoming the norm for RVH, I'm wondering how much guys are factoring in their pad shape/boot flex & angle to their gear decision process.

Along those lines, I'm kind of wondering if we'll see anything on the underside of pads to help with RVH, like a plastic bar between the toe binding and toe bridge.

This past year CCM hasn't promoted guys like markstrom and Demko nearly as much as they had previously which means they've probably given up on that pair and are focusing more on younger talent like Devon Levi.

If CCM's gear contract ends with Markstrom this year that leaves the door open for Warrior to hopefully once again pursue Markstrom. (No idea on the timelines of equipment contracts)

A dated example, but I was a fly on the wall when Jose Theodore switched midseason from Vaughn to Itech.

They removed him from all promo material pretty quick.

Now the question is, do I get a couple sets of the Tydan mirrored steel, or get one set of one of the DLC coated steel...two sets of the Tydan + profiling will cost the same as one pair of the DLC before sending out for profiling.  I'll save more over the long run with sharpenings, but I'll have two sets of the Tydan which will last probably the same/close to the same duration as one set of DLC between sharpenings...

I'm all aboard with the replies from @Snowman30 and @beansbats.

I'm one of those weirdos who will buy sticks in pairs, even if I'm trying a new pattern.

Buy the two sets of Tydans and sell the rest on SLS or something.

That's a great looking bag. Cool how it stands up like a suitcase. Is that custom name embroidery on the hand grip?

First thing I noticed too.  Looks very easy to navigate between doors.  Smart design

I have been using Graf Goalie Pro skates (the beluga whale toe cap) for years but decided to upgrade to something modern. I now have Bauer 3S pro skates and I feel like I'm glued to the ground. I think the main issue is that the blade length extends beyond the toe in the Bauers so c-cuts and pivot/turns feel more cumbersome (I have also toe-picked during a butterfly slide which was very... interesting).

Is this a something that I will eventually get used to or is there something I can do to help this? Would profiling the blade make the transition easier? Thanks for the help!

Stock profile is 30' for most brands, I believe Bauer falls into this.  Graf used a 30' profile as well.

Based on your description, you never re-profiled your Grafs.  Over the course of multiple years of sharpenings, the blades have rounded out to something more in the player spectrum (9' to 11'), very little blade contact on the ice.

You could round it out to a 26 or 27' if you want something a little bit less than what you currently have on your Bauer.

You could also go with a Goalie SAM, which is an 11' front third.  Middle of the blade on these has a 50mm flat spot and back is like a 27' I think.

Would also recommend giving yourself time to adjust.  The new holders are like 1/2" taller than the old cowling combos.  It doesn't sound like much, but your entire body weight is 1/2" higher so weight shifts on your feet feel more dramatic.  I tried skating with that style skate for over a year and couldn't get used to it.
