The "Official" Beer League Championship Thread
bildeer replied to SaveByRichter35's topic in Lifestyle
The college team I play with had their season cancelled, so I took my expertise to the local men's league. We won in overtime after tying the game with 22 seconds left. -
I have been using the factory mad knee pads that I got barely used in October of 19' They have removable pads for the area where your knee goes and also the top area. I take pucks to the knees all of the time because of how I play and I feel that they are very well designed, and can stand up to direct shots. I have only had two shots that I thought hurt in these and feel that they were a better choice than the koho's that I had been wearing previously. Another nice thing is that every single part on these can be replaced.

Long ago in my youth hockey days circa 2017. I bought the blocker on ebay back in 2013 and still use it to this day (and it's overdue for a replacement!)

I like the powerade 32 oz squeeze bottle. I have been using it since 2017 and it appears to be soft enough not to shatter when hit by pucks. I use a bright orange one to entice players to shoot at it. So far, none have hit it!

Haha, that's exactly who I picked that up from, but didn't know what to call it. A lot of the design considerations I have made with leg pad modifications were features that he had on his leg pads, like the toe buckles and the leg channel. Of course it would have just been easier to buy some Kohos, but by the time I was ready for new pads, they had gone extinct!

Sure, they are 7600 leg pads with the 7800 knee block and sliding surface. I tried this combination on my last pair that I ordered in 2017 and found that it slid better and was more stable than the v4 sliding surface. As for the modifications, here is everything that I remember 1. Iceberg graphic 2. Solid outer roll (with the stock double internal break) 3. Toe buckles (I like the way they allow my leg pads to sit on my skates) 4. Pro logos (not sure why this pair came without the v4 heat transfer, but my old pair did) 5. Quick slide material on sliding surfaces 6. V5 7800 knee block and medial edge 7. Knee lock and flap omitted 8. Foam padding on front of knee area omitted 9. Custom leg channel (like the one Jimmy Howard had back in 2013, will attach photo) 10. Name embroidery 11. Top strap omitted 12. One leather strap below knee that attaches to the same buckle as the top calf strap 13. 35+1.5 (35+2 on my last pair) Most of the specifications are the same as what I had on my last pair, but with some small changes. What's exciting is that this may be the first pair of leg pads that I don't have to do anything to!

Nice photos! Great to see another Central PA goalie here!

I believe that the length is the same across all sizes unless it says +1 and +2.

I believe a fit 1 is closer to a medium than a small. I have a pair of fit 2 14a's and I recall the waist measurements being 36-38 inches.

I'll be going through college and then OCS and TBS. And because I want to select the judge advocate MOS (4402) I will have to go to Naval Justice school too. I originally wanted to be an F/A-18 Weapons Systems Officer, but I decided to change my career designation since they are moving away from two seat aircraft, and thought law would be enjoyable.
