  1. Saw the retro tan and got excited for a second. Alas, my wait continues...
  2. Honestly, I feel just the opposite. I'd like to see less of the neon and either use black or white for the bindings. The green really pops when surrounded by mostly black but the little bit of white on set 2 is eye catching. If he made a smaller area white I'd be afraid of losing the effect. Again, with the neon colors a little bit goes a LONG way.
  3. Personally I dig using the dark brown as the primary contrast color on retro gear with selected use of black. I like the stripes on the gloves and would probably duplicate those,
  4. Knee rolls... Check Vertical stiching... Sort of check Retro classic GT2s are some of the best retro options out there right now, although I do wish Warrior used the Bucky color that Brian's and Vaughn use instead of camel. CW, I didn't mean my comments as a shot at all white pads. My last three sets have been some variation on stock white and I'm personally eager for a change. Also damn near the entire pad wall at the store I work at is white. We got some all black EF4.9s in last week and people haven't been able to keep their hands off them. I think the market is moving darker.
  5. I'm on a bit of a "white is boring" kick, so I like the bottom of your 3 designs Coop. Kirk's look has it going on too though.
  6. The one thing I'll give Warrior is that they've kept the Classic option around as a no cost option for people who don't care for the stock graphic. It really works well with the GT/2 especially.
  7. Thanks for the updates. Unfortunately there's not much commonality between our choices in catch gloves for me to take a guess at how well the GT2 will work for me. One thing I know I'll like is the weight. I just weighed my VE8 Pro Carbon for kicks and grins and it came in at 2 lbs 4oz. I thought that glove was noticeably lighter than my GNetik 2 but measuring the Gnetik alongside the Vaughn it's only 2oz heavier. Trying them on side by side I realize that the difference I'm feeling is mostly weight distribution. Combining shaving almost 1/3rd of a pound off the glove with the great weight distribution I've seen on every Warrior catch glove I've tried on has me really excited to see how I do with this puppy.
  8. I'm lucky enough to play for two teams with similar color schemes. Thursday: Sunday: My gear is currently white with some Pad Wrap in black, green and a little orange, but I've got some retro brown GT2s coming with a few team color accents (think Andy Moog's retro Vaughn gear in Dallas). It'll be a huge improvement in both looks and function.
  9. I'm obviously a fan of composites, and understand if you take anything I say with a grain of salt. With that said, a couple wraps of stretchy foam tape takes most of the vibration out of the sticks I use.
  10. I've got to be honest, a green logo outlined in orange would have been FIRE as far as I'm concerned. However, given that these are decals not paint it seems like there would be more errors in the process if you have to line up 2 decals and more cost or a longer lead time if you had to prepare each 2-3 color decal on a custom basis. Not worth it in my book.
  11. I'm in the US, but preordered my sticks back in early March. I agree, I'd have LOVED that yellow/orange grip section on mine with the orange decal. In the end I don't really care though since I use stretchy tape to build up the paddle and provide padding.
  12. My custom 3 pack of R/V1 Pro+ sticks showed up today and all I can say is WOW! The Holy Smoke clear coat on the paddle and shaft look fantastic and a great alternative to just leaving the paddle black or going with paint if you want to save a few grams but have your stick stand out from the crowd a bit. The balance feels fantastic and the stick is noticeably lighter than my CR/1, just as promised. Mine are 27.5" and weighed in at 667g (almost perfect for ol' @bunnyman666). When picking them up I got to compare them side by side with the new CCM EF4 and Bauer 2S Pro. They're right there with the EF4 for weight and of course are slightly behind the 2S Pro. Next time I work at the LHS I'll try to take in my scale and get some actual side by side numbers. My next ice time is 10 days off, so I'll update with impressions after I get them out on the ice and follow up with a full review some time in May/June. Edit: Big props to @Kirk3190 and the team at Warrior. The promised turn around time was 6 to 8 weeks and these showed up 4 days before the earliest possible day I had marked on my calendar. If the pads show up similarly early I'll get the rare privilege of breaking them in between sessions of competitive play. Fingers crossed!
  13. Oddly, having tried on both a 34" and 35" CCM I liked the way the 35" fit. Based on the fact that I'm a 35 in Warrior or Brians, I fully expected to be a 34 in CCM but it just felt like it was a tad short at the knee. I guess the moral of the story is try gear on whenever possible!
  14. I inquired for a customer who wanted EF4's and was told 10 weeks.
  15. Agreed! This is the piece I'm far and away the most nervous about.
  16. Yep, I've got an Andy Moog inspired set of brown/black/green Classics on the way along with a 3 pack of matching v1 Pro+ sticks. I know the prevailing opinion is against retro/color combos, but I think I've found a setup that bridges both of my teams fairly well. After trying on the GT1's I'm pretty stoked to see how the GT2s do once I get them on the ice.
  17. Thanks for letting me know, I'll calibrate my expectations accordingly. I kind of figured it would be towards the end of the 8-10 week time frame I was quoted with it being a new line and all, but was hoping for an Easter miracle.
  18. What was the turnaround time like? I didn't get my order in until last month, and can't quit looking at the projected delivery dates on my calendar. As they say, the waiting is the hardest part.
  19. Those are pretty nice looking. I know my home made RRC's improved the rotation of my SubZero 3's tremendously. I'm curious how they work on Warrior pads. Trying on the R/GT pads prior to ordering my R/GT2's it seemed like they already rotated perfectly, and it seemed like keeping them closer to your leg might work against the design of the pad.
  20. My wallet really doesn't like you.
  21. Same. It might be how my blocker interacts with my C/A but I can't make it work.
  22. Seriously! I'd planned to replace my OG Ritual C/A with the older R/GT unit when it went on clearance. Now I'm going to have some thinking to do. Dammit Warrior, quit making nice things!
  23. Or perhaps you underestimate the depths of depravity I'd be willing to sink to in order to make sure we all got our money's worth? Realistically though I'd probably get a nice email from Warrior saying that there is no way in hell that they would be willing to embroider some of my ideas on their gear.
  24. Who wants to start a Kickstarter page? I'm sure "Help us buy a set of goalie gear so tasteless the recipient refuses to wear it" would be a huge hit.
