Not going to give the elastic strap that comes with them a try?

The ARS strap for the RGT's is not included... must be bought separately.  I would love to try it, but am very comfortable with shock cord based products

    Have you received it yet?????

Purolator came on Friday but I was at work so I finally picked them up today...

Initial thoughts... SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO LIGHT!!!  I thought my previous Passau's that were stripped right down were light... but these seem like feathers compared to them.

Glove is game ready out of the box... and very comfy.  I came from a Smith 2000/5000 then NOTHING but TPS/WGD, but the RGT feels great on the hand.  Blocker is a blocker!

Loving the strapping system on the pads as well.  My Passau's were all elastic so the sling wrap system on these is perfect.  I'm planning to swap out the skate lace on the toe ties for my own shock cord toe system.

@Kirk3190 and Pete and the rest of the folks at Warrior knocked this line out of the park!

I'm curious what kind of foam Pro's Choice uses.  My foam never gets hard.  It is always soft and supple.  I think I went something like 4 years before I decided to get it repadded but it was still as soft as day 1.

Not to hi-jack the thread... but there's some good foam options out there now.  These are from Coveted Mask, black is Neoprene foam and the green is their "Dual Density" foam

We need to do some board superlatives in the next year. . . I think you ordered Factory Mad's too? If so, we will definitely nominate you in the "most sets of gear" category. I'd call it the "gear slut" or "gear whore", but I think we can come up with a better name?

I always loved the "gear whore" from the GSBB days.

Im actually quite the opposite... I only have 1 set at a time. Been kinda lost since moving my cherry Smith SP5000 set.

Since then I've had a Boddam, Passau and now Warrior.  I had Dennis mod up my V6 chest but not any gear from him.

No... stupid Labour Day weekend F'd me... hoping tomorrow or Thursday at the latest.

Popped into my LHS this morning... must say I much prefer the feeling of the RGT glove vs the G3.  Feeling and closure seemed better... and closer to the old Smith line of gloves.

Well like I said some of the Masked Marvels are made by Coveted so you're not totally wrong I guess?

Ron Stefaniuk is the genius behind Coveted... Also ghosts for both Otny and Masked Marvel.

And they are just in the CSA/HECC certification process

Thank you for the question.  I reached out to one of our Pro reps who handles a large portion of our NHL goalie clients. Here was his response:

...I think there are 2 things at play here, first and foremost the 1 Piece was totally new and different and certainly a welcome advancement in a goaltending position where we have not seen anything game changing in some time.  This past week I can confirm to you that the we have now confirmed Roberto Luongo in the 2 Piece with Step steel, Matt Murray has switched from a cowling to our 2 Piece with the TRUE holder and Step Steel, and Brian Elliott also to the 2 piece from a cowling as well, so it seems the pendulum is starting to swing a bit.

One of the most common statements I do get from the 2 piece guys is that in some situations they feel there is more of a “disconnect” from the ice, understand this has nothing to do with the skate (Bauer 1S guys say the same thing) but rather with the height of the holder compared to that of a cowling or in our case the 1 Piece skate.  It seems the taller guys felt the 1 piece brought them back down lower to the ice and somehow gave them in their words “more control” again.  This is what Carey Price had conveyed to me seeing he is 6’3-6’4 he felt he wanted to get lower to the ice again when he was having his issues around Nov last season.  I find the physically smaller (shorter) guys are drawn to the 2 piece as the added height for those guys actually gives them the ability to take away more space between their shoulders and the crossbar, helping them to take away more net, which obviously would be a welcome addition to any goalies “toolbox”

@Tim_TRUEHockey is this from Jorg?  Any chance of him joining us on the board?

What exactly is a Darling spec glove?

"Darling Spec" is shortened finger side plastic to (a) create a more square overall shape and (b) to make for a wider t-bridge, a unique "baseball glove" style break-in that is unlike any of the gloves in the line, and a few other small tweaks.

Design looks little confusing to me, but maybe it is just from the picture... should it be reference on this?
