Have you had a chance to use the CR3 yet?

Used my CR1 last night, it's a tad shorter than my 25" swagger. Took a bit to get used to it, but I think I prefer it.

Not yet.  I’ve used my 1S primarily.

Next pick up session I wanna pop it’s cherry

Quick, 25" Paddle. It was the only curves in the CR1's that were left over. Which is fine.

I'm not exactly proficient at playing the puck so experimenting with different curves is kinda necessary for me.

Nice.  My back up CR3 is a Mzarek.  I had a Quick foam core and liked it

  3. I’m on the list to be a member of the ProTechSport Club! (In 14 short weeks)

Full Kevlar, Matte Black Mask and cat eye cage.  Black straps and a chin sling.

How many guys/gals have used the head measurements vs the head mold??? I’m not crazy about doing the mold...

Glad to see you like them. They have quite a bit to tinker with despite the seemingly lack of straps. You may want to try doing the knee strap across the knee instead of down to the calf. That may help, as well, a tighter boot strap on these will help too.

I went the opposite route. Knee strap down to calf (just enough so all the velcro touches and that's it), calf wrap to second stitch line, boot strap as loose at it will go and I removed the calf wrap from the calf landing area. Made the pad feel more free on my leg.

I found the same issue for the blocker as well, just loosen up the velcro tab for the index finger a bit and you'll notice a large difference. Padding still sits on the paddle and protects your finger, but allows it to move when you need it to and feels less constricting.

Knee block won't soften up really. It's going to be like that for at least a while (i've been in my pads for 6 months now)

Had my set out for skate number 2... it was night and day... major adjustments:

    - wore the Sr knee pads

    - ran knee block strap across the knee.

    - used ARS toes and ran the boot thru my Lundy loop

Felt far more connected to my pads and that feeling of them being “sloppy” was gone.  The knee pads seem to soften the knee landing as well.  I wore them under my under armour compression pants and had NO slippage issues.

Won 7-2 and even my teammates were commenting how comfy I looked compared to the previous skate.  Still have some adjustments to weight on the glove. I overplayed the first 2 shots of the game, both goals, but settled in nicely for the rest of the game.  Can’t wait til the set is really broken in...

Went with the PL33. Dave said more of a catching glove suitable for smaller hands. Hope he is right! I should get it early next week. Back hand is standard for the glove except for the wrist strap through the backhand for easier tightening.

Been in my Agatone for 3 seasons. It was a great glove but if the WGD plays as good as it looks, i'll be super happy.

You will be.  The RGT I’m using now is light and great, but I love Dave’s glove as well...

For any Smith loyalist, did he design the V2 tiger stripes or was he had he left by then?

Pete left Vaughn in 2002... The V2 tiger stripes were out in 2005

Coveted - their site is under construction and they have not returned emails.  I would like to know more about their masks and prices

Are you on Facebook?  Matthew Gibbons is their main rep and is super fast and solid with communication

    Correct - thanks.

Just to throw more into the mix - the Otny X1M looks like a really good mask. Any  thoughts on this one?

sorry to keep asking so many questions and throwing in different masks  thanks again for your patience and willingness to share your thoughts

Tons of positive feedback on Otny products... Maltese is nice touch but shouldn't be make or break for a mask

  9. Finally got my RGT set on the ice last night... first impressions...

Crazy light... even the guys in the room couldn't believe how light the pads were.  Glove is money... snap shut closure right out of the box.  That being said, It's going to be an adjustment moving from my WGD Summit to the one piece RGT.  Had a few pucks deflect off the thumb area, as the difference in shape will take some getting use to.

The pads slide very well, almost too well in some cases.  I over slid a few times and it cost me a few goals... but its really effortless.

I don't think Warrior products integrate well with shock cord based toe straps.  I'm going to move back to the Skate Lace for now until I can source some ARS toe straps.  I think rotation was affected by the shock cord as the pads were under rotating a hair.

I found the pads a little more "floppy" on my legs, vs what I'm use to.  My Passau set had a closed and tight leg channel so these are very loose compared to them.  A "professor" type strap at the knee would help my leg feel more connected to the pad.  I ran the sling wrap down to the knee and had the calf wrap as snug as it would go.  I ran the ARS boot strap thru the rear most cut out in my cowling as well.  I may try my Lundy Loop next skate.

Blocker is a blocker.  I found the stick opening between thumb and index finger a little tight as well, but that should stretch out with more use.

Finally, the knee block was somewhat stiffer than I like.  My previous Smith 6000's had a homemade poron XRD stack I made myself and my Passau's had a maltese landing.  I may try and soften up the block if it doesn't naturally soften while I break them in.

Overall I love the set, and am happy to be back Pete's gear!

That's what I like better about the HAL straps as well but I have read too much negative feedback about Monster so I would prefer not to deal with them.

great products... too big, too fast... can't meet demand on even "in stock" items...
