Well quite convenient timing, but the pads seemed to have turned up at the store yesterday.
Of course, the store didn't tell me that initially, it was only after I pestered them again in the evening that I got the reply "Yes, the arrived this morning". No idea why they wouldn't have told me they arrived right away.
So hopefully I'll be picking them up tonight.
PICS!!!!!!!!!!

@cwarnar which design did you go with??

@Puckducker I just did a custom RGT set with @TGC-Rance and was quoted around 9 - 11 weeks. I know there was going to be a factory shut down for a big holiday in Veitnam
-
@TheGoalNet why do those P2 floaters look so horrible???
-
The Onty guys are great to deal with... and make a nice mask... you’ll pay far more for the Onty than for the ProTech.
The trade off will be wait time... 14-16 weeks vs 4 weeks for the Onty
Ron at Coveted makes a nice 960 clone as does Masked Marvel

@TheGoalNet Did you notice a huge difference between the existing Tack line and the AS1?

Currently the V7 C/A retails at $650 CDN. And say that $900 mark is CDN as well, spending $250 more for a C/A that is just a slightly updated version of the V6 is a sure fire way to price themselves out of the market.
Again, I doubt it.
Porter's has the NHL Beef Up package... Likely increasing the bottom line

@RichMan everything but a test drive. What do you need on the skates?
First impressions... Comparison to your 2S demo set... Any idea on price point?

I've had my eyes on that CCM bag for a while now. Looks nice. If you do pull the trigger on it, please let me know how it is for you Best of luck!! I am also in the market for a new wheelie bag since my old bag is falling apart after a good run, haha.
I ended up going Passau back pack bag... Love it.

I like the Passau bag, but I'm not paying $50 in shipping, sorry. I even asked if I could ship it to my sister's house near London (Ontario that is) as Canadian shipping was like less than $20, but no dice. My search continues....
Unfortunately any bag likely will be pricey to ship. I was impressed tho at how compact the back it when they ship it. They also use their poly shipping bag as well.
You want a carry or wheel bag?
-
UPDATE - I ended up going Pasaau back pack bag... So far so good. Way more space than my previous roller bag. The love the standalone mask and skate compartments, plus its easy to carry. A few local guys gave me positive reviews, the biggest being a wheel bag tracks sand, snow and ice into the rink, my vehicle and my house... the joys of living in Saskatchewan!
@GoalieTimmy33 and Passau seem to have a winner on their hands... backed up by all the guys in the dressing room taking an interest in a goalie bag

- I find it much easier to balance and set my feet in my stance. Feels like my skating lines and shuffles are much cleaner, and even swifter now.
- Pushing from in the butterfly or RVH feels notably different. Your foot can get much lower to the ice, and establish a good grip much quicker.
- Skating out to play pucks feels much less hindered and clumsy.
- Feels like the edge goes out quicker on the steel. I had done a lesson and two games and had to resharpen already. I usually go 5-7 skates before sharpening.
- I recommend you go down one or two hollows for your sharpness at first. I'm usually a 3/8th guy, but the attack angles and better connection to the ice has made me go for a 1/2 instead.
- Also; I normally have a hard time dialing in fit. I've worn them only four times and already they feel really comfortable. It usually takes me a lot longer for new skates.
What were you wearing before? And same size in the new skates?
I'd likely upgrade to Tydan steel... Seems what most in new Bauer are moving too

Well the Medusa straps are just shock cords and cage clips essentially with a few tabs sewn up, there's not much to mess up with that.
I'll chime in and say there are a lot of companies doing open harnesses now, and they're relatively easy to find - I would avoid the Nash offering though.
@Doobiesnax I told you so. My blocks were quoted out at a few weeks, but ended being around half a year before i got my blocks. I also ordered HAL straps and K-Straps on the same order that I would have appreciated if they didn't wait all that time to ship those out too.
Also... has anyone seen their new product "jock blocker".....I honestly can't understand who would order it... I know my Brown 2300 pants came with a lace in crotch protector that went inside the pant... I removed it as I thought it was overkill... This thing seems like the Pontiac Aztek of the goalie world
At $50-60 USD no less

I was considering ordering Medusa straps to show off mask art better. I’ve seen some quality concerns for other products, but no one has mentioned the Medusa. Should I skip it and go a different way?
Dragon
Skip the headache... I have outsider straps from Doug Wager... Do the same thing and don't take months to come... Dennis always has them in stock as well:
