  1. First point: You are correct; cheerfully withdrawn. Second point: old man injury...? Maybe - but I can't remember.
  2. Dude - you didn't just cat-GIF, did you? What a commoner thing to do - I mean, don't we get enough of that cat crap all over the internet from millennials? This is behaviour unbecoming of an elitist. I think I'm gonna have to go back and UN-like a few of your past posts...
  3. Nice! Fingers crossed for that clearance, @bunnyman666 !
  4. Deviled Tropical Urban pheasant? Yes, you should have posted that! I mean, I started this thread, and with all the power that comes with that (read: no actual power) I say yes to BBQ pics in the beer thread! Maybe you'll be enjoying a beer 'round about 2:00pm EST today...(?) Big match for the lads!
  5. So I’m having a mediocre beer (IPA beer by Woodhouse brewery) but I just wanted to make some of you jealous with some hot, hot BBQ porn! Cedar plank salmon. Happy Canada day!! ??
  6. Well, can’t goaler right now (probably never could) BUT saw my new physio again today, and she is UNBELIEVABLE!!! She’ll have me back on the ice by late August! In the meantime, I’m doing the exercises, saying the prayers, and taking the vitamins- and supporting small business, so here is my beer: Starring Zythos, by Beyond the Pale brewing company. (If you’re ever in Ottawa, first ask yourself “WTF am I doing here?!?!l” but then check out Beyond the Pale)
  7. Sorry coops; only a Dad can call another Dad a “bad Dad”. Are you looking to forfeit your “DINK” status...? Lol!
  8. Early Father’s Day present! Apparently my wife asked my kids what to get Daddy, and they both said “beer!” I’m so proud of them.
  9. My action shot - from physiotherapist’s arena. Er... office.
  10. It's nice that we can joke about our chosen sport and related injuries, but on the opening day of the World Cup, let's not forget about those poor footballers. I mean, judging from their reactions at least, they step on landmines and get shot by snipers every game. Wouldn't mind getting my hands on some of that magic spray though; a shot of that, and it's almost like these guys were never even hurt in the first place!
  11. I'm a fan of this thread... plus, I'm not playing right now because I'm injured, I have no money to spend on new gear (and my stuff is only about 2 months old anyway), and I don't have a wealth of knowledge or experience to share while convalescing, so imma gonna BUMP!
  12. Gaping hole, like you’re getting beat there? Or you’re looking at the pics and thinking there’s a (very small) gap? might simply being a case of one being one’s own worst critic. ?
  13. Great news, Jeff! I hear ya on "...some of the butterfly movements..." I thought I had been feeling pretty good lately, so I also threw the pads down on the basement carpet to see. I tried to mimic a push, and definitely felt it.
  14. Anybody here on the IR with good news stories or updates? My physio told me "optimistically" that things with my MCL were progressing well, I might be ready to play in another 5 weeks (!) I think I might just call it for the summer, and make sure I'm completely rested and ready come Fall.
  15. Stationary exercise bike, to help rehab my stupid MCL. Does that count? If you think about it, CCM stands for Canada Cycle and Motor... Man, "injured me" is lame...
  16. Probably not strong enough to even clean said car parts...
  17. The beer that follows an unwanted period of sobriety is a mighty brew indeed! Enjoy the blue moon!
  18. My brother in goal and in beer!!! A virtual toast to you, good-sir! I even found a beer for you (perhaps presumptuous of me, but worthy nonetheless:)
  19. Are we still doing this? Well I for one am “still doing this.” I’m probably a summer away from being able to play again, but I can at least drink beer like a boss. Started at beer o’clock sharp, with a new Dominion City beer called Horseshoes and Hand grenades - and it’s close to perfect, but then being “close” only counts in... how does that expression go again...?
  20. That's kind of interesting... any thoughts as to why that is? Maybe when there's no formal defense, the goalie is more prone to injury as they over-extend themselves, trying to make miraculous recoveries and/or saves ...(?)
  21. Hey @jeff da goalie - any update on your situation? Did you get in to see a medical professional yet?
  22. I think you're right about this. But how is this (perceived) pro focus working out I wonder? Let me ask you this: of the 8 goalies listed in the rosters for the Finals (3 for Washington, 5 for the Knights), how many of them wear Bauer...? Not the starters. Hell, even GruBauer doesn't wear Bauer! LOL!
  23. Damn... sorry to hear that, dude. When I originally posted, and wrote the line "misery loves company," I wasn't implying that I wanted people to replicate my own injury. I mean, I'm flattered and all, but... Glad you're set up to see someone, and here's hoping you have a safe and speedy recovery.
  24. So ... I have to ask: all totally worth it, right...(?!?!)
