Any change to the materials on the sliding edge?

No, we've tested new materials every year and from an R&D perspective there's no factual evidence that one material slides better than another.  Anecdotally, some goalies believe i.e. weave slides better than regular but there's no data that proves it.  So, we offer weave at custom for those goalies who prefer it but it would be disingenuous  of us to put a new material on all stock sliding surfaces and say "It slides faster!" without being able to prove it.

Why would you neglect the most winningest team in the league, my beloved HABS!?! :DB|

Toronto or Detroit works for that! Just a tid bit of padwrap and you're golden!

@Kirk3190 One more question, will there be an NHL colourway theme senior lineup at retail this time around like there was for the G3?

We've always offered Toronto, Chicago & Detroit.  As well as all white, all black and white/black.

@Kirk3190 What is like the main difference between these and G4’s. I keep seeing how 2020 is gonna be a “HUGE” year for warrior but like why

That, my friend, you'll have to wait a little longer to find out.  If you look closely at the gear and think logically about what was changed from G4 to G5 you'll see it ;)

So post wedge is almost gone entirely.

Sure hope the nylon knee strap is included still.

Post wedge has been removed.  We designed a piece that covers the buckle on the outer calf wrap.  Keeps the "look" of a Warrior pad too.

Nylon strap at the knee is still there ;)

Does the color of the spines on the shaft mean something?

I have 2 26 Bishops in the same color,  both V1 Pro+ and the colors of the spines are different.

Unfortunately,  I don't have a side by side pic, but i bought this one in Surrey,  BC and they're purple.

My other i bought online with Goalie Monkey and they're black or grey.20190511_164952.thumb.jpg.0b41f9b65fece949c99659b6bccf06bd.jpg

I'm not completely following what you're asking.  Can you show a side by side of the Surrey stick and Monkey stick?  It's possible your Monkey stick was what we would refer to as SMU (Special Make Up) aka a special colorway only offered at Monkey.  The stick from Surrey is a stock stick with stock graphic/colors.

All very good points. Admittedly I just ran into the store I work at on my lunch break from my real job to grab that shot quickly.  I was a little surprised to see that a couple sticks the Warrior be taller than the CCM given that mine are almost exactly the same, but the difference in curve/blade length explains that.  I'll do better next time!

No worries!  I get pictures like the one you took sent to me a lot.  I just like to set the record straight when I see it done that way.  Every store lines their sticks up on a rack this way so I understand why it's the most natural assumption.

@Puckstopper Not looking to cause a fuss but this is the worst way to gauge/measure paddle height.  As others mentioned the lie is not taken into account.  But more importantly, the blade patterns are different, toe shapes are different & lastly the blade lengths could be different.  All factors would give an incorrect visual impression of paddle length when sticks are leaned up against a wall stick rack style.  The best way is to lay the sticks flat on the floor and line up the heel/blade as best as possible.  From there you'll not only see the difference in paddle length, but also get a better perspective on the lie and shoulder slopes.

I would say there is room in Warrior's portfolio for a more flexible stick like the EF4 or the 2X.  Whether we see them do that any time in the near future (or even distant future) is something only the team at Warrior knows at the moment.   TBH, I'd like to try a Warrior stick with a more flexy paddle, but the V1+s I'm using are great sticks so I'm not sure this is something Warrior NEEDS.

One thing I would like to see  them do is cut the number of price points down to 3 and/or work on a better naming scheme.  Certain customers get lost when trying to keep track of the benefits of the Pro+ vs the SR+ vs the Pro.  The old system of CR1, CR2 and CR3 was way easier for customers to keep track of.  Warrior certainly isn't alone in this trend but it is making things harder/more confusing at the retail level for people who aren't total gearheads.

Thanks for the feedback!  We are always in development of new constructions and performance benefits.  Flex profile being one of those at the current time.  I understand your comment about model names.  The "+" is something we introduced in 2019 with the R/V1 sticks and also R/X2 Jock & Knee.  As time goes on you'll begin to see it in other areas of our product offering.  Once it becomes more common place I believe it will instinctively clear up some of the confusion.  In a very general way, the V1 Pro, V1 SR+ and V1 SR are separated by $50 and are on average 50g less/more in weight than each other.  The V1 Pro+ being an outlier because it's a LOT more than 50g lighter than the V1 Pro.  Hope this helps!

Hi, I have a few questions about the goalie sticks.

    1. Which curve in WARRIOR is same as Bauer P31 curve ?

    2. Warrior don’t sell Rask curve anymore. And which curve is more similar RASK curve in rest of 3 curves?

    Hi Leo,

    1. Our Bishop (TWT) pattern is closest to the P31 curve

    2. From the standpoint of having an "open toe" the Mrazek (WDG) pattern would be most similar performance wise to the Rask.  Very noticeable difference between Mrazek/Rask is that Mrazek has a rounded toe while Rask did not.

Set looks awesome!  I am a big fan of when goalies incorporate black or brown with classic tan & white.  Nice job and thanks for choosing Warrior!

I feel like im turtling in it, even in a small. feels way to broad around the shoulders and arms when compared to my old V7 XF. Ive tried tampering with the adjustments, which is a positive ive found in it is all the adjustability

Hmm.. If you could send me a few pictures (direct message - or in this thread would be fine) that would help.  Turtling makes me think the adjustment would be in the neck/collar area.  The broadness would make me think it's in the outer shoulder area.  Pictures would help a lot to pinpoint it!

  13. @motowngoalie I'm glad to hear you're liking the new GT2 SR C/A so far.  One suggestion I have is that you snug up the 4 elastic straps (elbow cap) on each side.  You don't need to crank them down.  Just a little bit will help get a more comfortable fit and help keep your elbow in the right spot as you start to sweat like crazy mid-game.

@Max27 Sorry to hear that you're not satisfied with your current G4 Senior model C/A.   Increasing protection was a MAJOR focus for us on the GT2 C/A series.  I am confident you will not have that same issue should you move into a GT2 Senior.  To be honest, I am a but surprised to hear you believe the G4 Senior is crazy bulky.  Our C/A models are widely known for having exceptional mobility/functionality.  Is there an area in particular you're thinking is too bulky?  Chances are I could recommend some tweaks to the unit to help reduce the bulkiness you are experiencing.

Was yours a full set? I ordered mine April 28th and still holding my breath. Does anyone know if Warrior posts every custom set they make on their Instagram? I keep hoping I'll see mine on there as a signal that mine will be shipped soon.

We get a lot of custom order images & it would be impossible to post every single one.  Sometimes the images go up before a customer receives it.  Other times it could be an image posted a few weeks after they received it.  If you have received your order & still want to make sure your gear gets posted on WarriorGoalie IG - Just shoot a DM to the IG account and we'll get it put into our posting schedule! :)

The new "360 active drop" system they have in place on the G4's and GT2's is more to blame. Because the calf wrap lost a lot of the rigidity that was apparent in the G3/GT1, there is a lot more play in the channel than there was previously. Especially when guys strap down to the calf.

I currently strap down to the calf on my GT1's but I'll be trying out behind the knee initially to see how it plays.

Not sure if you already have adjusted it or not, but keep in mind the Calf Wrap is adjustable on G4/GT2 now compared to GT1.

Interesting to see your floppy issue. How do you think the new material in the GT2 will hold up compared to the GT1?

I’m having the same issue with my G3 but it seems much worse than on your video. Without much effort I can bend the thigh rise 90 degrees. Im playing with those pads for a little over two years now, 4 times a week on average. I remember when I first got them they were super stiff. Now they’re just floppy. The last couple of weeks I had a couple of shots where my stick wasn’t in front of the five hole, the puck hit the thigh rise and it just opened like a revolving door.

I’m thinking about buying new pads and switching from the G3 to the GT2, as I don’t have a super wide butterfly and the design of the GT will be the better choice. Am I thinking right or not @Kirk3190?

The G3 had a double internal break.  Since G3, we have only produced single internal breaks.  You should notice a significant improvement for thigh rise stopping power on GT, G4 or GT2.

@Kirk3190 After seeing the pictures of new R\GT2 sets posted here and elsewhere online, what was the design decision for going to a binding around the main knee block on the R\GT2 and R\G4, when the R\G2, R\G3, and R\GT all had completely bindingless knee blocks? You can see the snow buildup on it in the picture below for the R\GT2, and the binding in the picture of the R\G4. As the first (or one of) the first companies to do a bindingless everything, I'm curious as to why Warrior is re-introducing the it in this area.

Hi Teezle,  There's really no "single" answer to your question.  It's more of a series of designs, efforts and developments linked together.  One of the main things that changed for G4 was the AIRslide feature.  Constructing this was no easy task.  Coupled with the improved integration of the Knee Drive System on the G4 (& now GT2) series, there simply wasn't a way to include both new upgrades in a bindingless fashion.  If you look closely at the GT2 knee binding, you'll see it's recessed whereas on G4 it was not.  This gets the binding off the ice during slides which is a nice improvement.  It's always our goal to improve the slidability of our gear.  Design & development truly are extensive & continuous problem solving exercises.  We're on a constant quest to advance our products.  With slidability being a primary focus, you can expect to see a continuation of improved designs for years to come in this realm.  Lastly, while there is a small bit of binding near the knee on G4 and GT2, you will be hard pressed to find anyone who would say these pads don't slide quicker and more consistently than our previous generations.

So there is an internal break above the knee in the GT1? And here I thought it was just a single outer/inner break below the knee.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the G4 also has the internal break above the knee right? Or was that only the G2/G3?

G2: Double Internal - Single Outer

G3: Double Internal - Single Outer

GT1: Single Internal - Single Outer

G4: Single Internal + HyperComp - RVH Optimized Outer (No External)

GT2: Single Internal + HyperComp - Single Outer

    G5: ********************************* ;)
