How is there even any wisdom left to make an attempt to get an NHL franchise there again? Seriously. The National Hockey League already has enough dud teams in cities that didn't have any business having a franchise in the first place. I get that money talks. But there's so many advertisements all over the rinks, ice, player's equipment, the NHL looks like the figgen Yellow Pages. Find another sport as your platform to make money and leave those really appreciate our game alone.

In some cases I'd argue European leagues such as the SHL and NL love the sport more and have to put up with more advertisements. It's not as much about making money there as it is getting more people in the door to watch games and play the sport

Had no issue with my Pro+ other than it was maybe a size big for me and heavy. No mask interference, super flexible especially for the size, and minimal rebounds off the body. The weight just comes with having a proper pro level chest. Ccms pro spec chest (2018 and 2024 models) are both just about the same weight as my X3 Pro+. Jerseys can be difficult depending on brand. Adidas is for sure a no go without restricted mobility

I have switched to Mach since it's much lighter and more flexible than the pro+ while maintaining a lot of that same size. Protection isn't as good as Pro+ but still good

Did you get a chance to use it, or even throw a puck or a ball into it? Or was this strictly trying it on in a store...

Strictly trying on. The flat fingers do worry me a little but it's on par with bauer off the shelf

Well this is excellent news...do tell. How does it compare to the Axis 2 you've been using?

Closure is different feeling but this is quite possibly the first actual game ready ccm I've ever put on. Completely forgot that it only had a pinky and index loop and not actual stalls

I just got a fedex tracking number for my Axis XF glove that has shipped. Scheduled to arrive Monday 😃

Just felt one today and if it's anything close to that you're in for a treat

Guess the thick sarcasm I said it with on the other side of the screen didn't come through. 🤣 In short - they are short. How short? Who really knows for sure except the equipment manager (or not - since pro equipment is less so focused on sizing and points to the owner mostly and he probably doesn't carry around a tape measure (or doesn't he (?))).

    Oops

FWIW, I used to skate with some Ducks staff and one of the guys had a Ryan Miller stick. 24.5" is what was printed on the stick and also on the 3rd pic below. So Bobrovsky's might be even shorter (22" or 22.5") than what InGoal says.

Ccm measures from the bottom of the shoulder not the top. So while the bottom of the shoulders is 22 or 22.5, the top is still a 26ish so it's used more like a 24 or 24.5. It's the same situation with my saros sticks, they're labeled as 24 but I had to buy 25s to get the same overall shoulder height (and then trim the shoulders to match the saros stick)

  8. Wedgewood back in one piece skates, still using bauer glove and blocker but with a nice subtle matching glove graphic. Looks like someone just copy pasted the blocker graphic to the glove though. You can see the "stitch lines" are the exact same as the blocker lol

This is a hot option at Pro... Markstrom and Big Save Dave use it. Have any more pics?

Pretty sure Dave is just in a full on 581. Did you mean skinner?

  10. Second skate with the glove today. I can catch consistently with it! It funnels decently and is already giving my coworkers PX3 590 strong competition (his words not mine). It's far from my favorite glove out there but with a softer closure and getting rid of the ridiculous ridge in the palm it very well could be.

That said I could definitely use an intermediate palm to help it feel more snug and I still prefer my G6.1. 591 is a little similar to G6.0 in that it doesn't exactly feel like a glove compared to G6.1 and other brands' offerings. More like a mitt

If you can, give it a couple of good bakes as well. I found the foams and d30 in my 581 responded really well to heat and it made a big difference.

Will do. I'll throw it in the skate oven tomorrow and try to work the glove til it's cold again then tie it shut

  12. At the rate it's breaking in it should be about 1-2 weeks before it's truly game ready. I'll still use it whenever I can until then I'll be following a mixture break in methods, mainly TGN's (alternating opening and closing the glove every 24 hours as well as working the glove in by hand)

Got any pics of your mods?

Nothing complex just a sewn in loop for now. I'll make it adjustable on the 2in version. I also trimmed a piece of lace on the backhand to allow me to close it fully without restriction. Not sure why ccm didn't do that instead of opting for the hideous thing they did to skinner and Markstrom's gloves. It also allows the backhand to open fully as shown in the pictures.

How is the thumb angle, and the angle of the palm in general? What I mean by that is, is it somewhat flat or does it funnel and angle back into the pocket? I have the 581 and it's been worked in really nicely, but the one outstanding issue I've always had is the angle of the palm and the thumb. Relative to the pocket, and in comparison to other gloves it's really flat and tends to meet the puck at a perpendicular angle if you miss the pocket, which results in more pop-outs than I'd like. Hopefully that description makes sense. 😅

Thumb angle still isn't great but it feels like the thumb funnels well though the fingers don't. It's a hard piece to photograph so hopefully that pic gets the idea across

  14. As of yesterday I bought and used an Axis 2 glove to see how much work it needs to be a usable glove. They're on a ridiculous levels of discount right now so I figured might as well.

Before even getting on the ice I added a 1in pinky loop to help closure, which it did but not as much as I'd hoped. I need to go through and change that loop to a 2in loop to stop if from folding over, the same issue as EF6. I also need to add a index finger loop like EF6.

First on ice impressions the glove is light and is a pretty good shape for me to catch with still needs a lot of work to close since it's pretty stiff and squeezing rather than folding, an issue 600 gloves have as well. I'll probably put a lace pocket in it to help soften it

So I must have freakishly short calves for my height. I have a 18.5 FTK which puts me at a 31" intermediate on the knee, but I'm 5'8 (8.5 technically). They recommend a 33+1.5 for 5'8 guys (which is what I currently play with, G2's 33" and it works, though I land about an inch low of center on the knee stack). So if I was to custom order g7's, I'd want a 31+3.5?? What is wrong with my proportions haha. Am I getting that right?

I've got the same issue. I'm about 6' on a good day but I have about 19.25 ftk so I'd be ordering 32+2 or +2.5 pads. I'm in 32+1.5 now and they definitely feel small

MY best advice ordering 2 custom sets previously, follow the chart!!  Each time I did this warrior reps both agreed that the way I calculated was correct.  Remember as well, when you do this, if they don't fit Warrior will make you another set........anyways, track the FTK and line your knee where it needs to be.  For me, I am 21.5 FTK so that puts me in a 37+1.5 (stock thigh rise).  However, if you look at their chart, they also show you what the recommended overall pad size is based on height.  Since the 37+1.5 recommended body height is taller than I am, I went with the overall pad height recommendation for my height of 6' 1 1/2" which ends up as a 36+1.5 pad.  So simple math, keep the knee at 37 and drop the pad height by 1", puts me in a 37+0.5 pad.  Fits perfect.  Always feel free to reach out to warrior on IG or anywhere else to show them your stats and what pad height you want prior to ordering and see what they say.

Now that you mention it, that lines up perfect for how I was going to order my G7s this year

Found TGN's alternate account, no wonder I'm confused, there's no binding there. ;)

Well I haven't had any issues there myself nor seen or heard too many stories of other people's issues either. I'd ask @ThatCarGuy as he's probably the Warrior user here that puts it through the most work, but I don't think he's ever mentioned any issues on his G6.

    So yes?

Never had the fingertips split on any of my Warrior gloves before. Even my G3 that had some intense finger curl

  18. From my understanding, the reason warriors gloves are consistently good off the shelf is because the internal plastic/composite plates are actually laced in with the perimeter lacing making it near impossible for them to be assembled wrong. The center plastic piece that breaks free and ruins the breaks on a lot of gloves is sewn into the face of the glove rather than the sheet of foam behind it. According to Pete Smith, Warrior gloves and all of their equipment for that matter are purposely designed to be built easily and consistently overseas. Nothing overly complicated.
