I must have missed the recent part of the thread where there was talks about size comparison.
Am I to understand that if I wear 34/medium Hyperlite that I will be a 33 G7?
Yes that's correct. Sorry, hadn't refreshed my page

Anyone know if sizing has changed? Meaning if the same size from previous years to the G7 is the exact same or are they now bigger? Anyone have that info?
G7 will fit the same as G6 and only G6

Wow. Is this convergent evolution (Bauer and Warrior happen to be the same size)?
They were but they aren't anymore. Warrior 32 now equals bauer 33

Large in Bauer is, at least nominally, a 35" pad. That said, Warrior runs small. I would need a 36" Warrior pad.
Warrior has a 1.5" thigh rise as stock.

And so you’re saying going with a 34 G7 might be too small for me?
As coop said, G7 will run bigger. My 32+1.5 G6 pads fit and were the exact same size as my 33+ Machs and HL2s.

I do really like my Stabilislide as it is though and have never felt it getting in the way.
I never noticed stabilislide getting in the way either until I was going back and forth between it and Warrior's knee block. Stabilislide felt a little clunky to me after using a softer knee block for awhile

Speaking of the blocker, looks fine and nowhere near as bad as the catalogue made it seem. Saying that, still looks like it would be a bit cumbersome.
I like the more flexible nature of the older Supreme styled finger protection. Feels like a nice middle ground between coverage and usage.
I haven't had any issues with the finger protection either, I'm still surprised it's been changed.
Completely agree. It looked awful in the catalog and doesn't seem to bad here. I've never been hit on the fingers with a Bauer blocker either so I don't understand the change. It is very similar to how warriors sidewall is though so guess I can't complain

Where are these pictures from? Any actual better pictures of his strapping set up?
It kind of looks like the old CRS set up he's always used.
Both came from Lundqvist's instagram. If you look closely you can see the tune fit plus strap overlapped by the knee strap at the calf

Just watch, he's going to show up with a Warrior glove for a couple of games just to throw everyone off.
I got Scheel to try one a few years back before he got sent down but he wasn't feeling it which understandable since he's still using a V7

Wedgie would put everyone here to shame with how much of a gear whore/nerd he is. He'll talk you ear off about this stuff. He's probably the one who talked Otter into True skates.
I can second this he's done it before. Very curious to see how he specs out his bauer leg pads when he inevitably switches to them.

So here’s a (very blurry) example of my 12.2s over rotating during skating. I felt my pad slip like this a lot doing t pushes and any suggestions on how to stop this is appreciated. My current setup is about 3-4 inches of slack on skate lace, tight top frs loose bottom, knee elastic down to the calf.
Had a similar issue when I was using centered skate lace toe ties. I had to use so much slack to stop my ankles from hurting that the pad would over rotate in my stance just like yours.
I offset my lace toe ties 2 holes towards the inside edge, shortened the slack, and haven't had issues with over rotation since.

That specifically is a pro series body which I'm pretty sure has wider shoulders than the normal Mach chest

Interestingly I've always had the opposite experience with whistles as far as dark equipment goes. More often than not I got a slower whistle because the official wasn't sure it was covered

Kasimir Kaskisuo is currently using a Mach C/A with Laval in the AHL.
https://youtu.be/YD-q2Kug6J0?si=LtT4Ie0l5gQTLlVY&t=453 (what's in the bag for best view)
https://youtu.be/BfefjR1Wsk0?si=5j-bxda3Aqkq_Dvm&t=878 (same C/A hanging in the stall)
I noticed that as well which is very odd considering Mach definitely isn't legal. I assume he gets a waiver because he just rejoined the nhl and hasn't been given a new chest yet

Like I said in some other thread, bauers performance is at the top of the league. From my understanding the reason more people don't use their equipment is a comfort thing and sometimes a build quality thing. I had no issues with the durability of my HL2 though I didn't put much use into them
-
Better question, why? If you're going for a looser fit try wearing the tune fit strap to the outer calf wrap that way you don't completely eliminate the strapping and potentially have your leg pad fall off

I’ve always wanted a Brian’s set/gloves and if it wasn’t for the price I would have probably went with this 580 over the Bauer vapor90 but the price is starting to get pretty ridiculous. Like most gear the price is starting to be crazy. 600/700+ for a CA that won’t give you bruises etc…
The prices are getting ridiculous for very small changes. Brians is way up there in pricing but at least you get what you pay for
In my personal opinion brian's and warrior are the top 2 brands right now. Both have phenomenal gloves, above average pads, and average blockers. There is obviously some bias here since Bauer pads just don't feel as connected for me as warrior (on ice) and brians (in store) have. In every measurable way Bauer leg pads blow the competition out of the water. It's the ways you can't see on paper that keep me from wearing their pads. And I don't really like bauer gloves.

Who would've guessed that when you put a plastic holder on a plastic boot designed for a position with a lot of lateral movement that things would go wrong.
Still better than bauer putting a rubber outsole on the vapor player skates

I still haven’t had any problems with the buckles on mine after almost a year being on the ice about three to four times a week. Though now that I just said that it will probably break on me tonight lol
I've had no issue with the buckle durability but the holders loosened up a ton and the rivets feel like they have oval holes in the boot since I can move the holder side to side.
In other words if you see some size 8 konekts with black holders on sidelineswap this spring, do not be tempted and do not buy them.

For me this glove release is stupid
Offer those option with your 2 collection you already have.
they make a different graphic so if you want it with a optik or iconik line you have to pay extra fee for the custom design
18 minutes ago, purplepedialyte said:Changing the graphic to match is normally not an up charge considering you have to custom order these already.
it’s meant to be a stand alone line, different from the others. So why wouldn’t they have a different graphic on it?
From my understanding it has a very simple graphic so that it'll match nicely with other brands. Brians graphics don't generally work that well when mixed with other sets and eclipse is meant to fix that.
Those who want a matching set and are already in brians pads can order a matching graphic eclipse glove and blocker if they wish.

They have not updated the size chart. I'm basing this off personal experience with my own G6 set and talking to reps about G7. I wore a 33 in G5, 33 Mach, 33 HL2, and 32 G6. I did have 34 G4 but they were too big for me
