With all due respect, it is difficult to agree that Warrior produces innovative equipment with advanced technologies. Yes, their design is completely different from the classic design of other manufacturers, but over the past 5-7 years only Bauer has truly introduced something innovative. Or maybe I just don’t understand the meaning of the word “innovative” correctly

You are correct. Warrior hasn't really brought anything new to the table in quite some time but with the way they've been building pads since G2, everyone's only recently caught up.

G2 had an integrated knee block, pretty solid rebounds, very good sliding for the time, super soft glove off the shelf, no wrist strap, adjustable blocker finger protection, inset knee strap for extra stability, and of course the wonderful shin pillow which made the pad feel more connected

One of these days we'll bully convince him to use Warrior gear.

Ironically I think it's a very healthy mix of everything he likes in a set

Obviously he's afraid he might actually like a 75 break glove.

Shhh just give him a 7.1 with a 90 degree palm and all will be fine

G6 already had one that was removable. The G7 is different. Looks like it was removed and modified to what you see now.

I like this new version. I use the inner flap for both my knee and upper calf straps on G6 but I can see how the inner flap would be annoying for those who don't use the upper calf strap at all.

I think the best bet is to try it on in person.

I fit pretty well in an NME mask in the past, but when I tried the Warrior just for fun I found it to be really tight on the cheeks.

And that is exactly why I love the warrior. NME and Bauer helmets in general have never fit me that great. Previous ccm buckets didn't fit me well either but XF fits pretty nice

  6. Interesting to see them abandon the internal flap and just make the sling wrap calf strap have velcro on both sides so the knee strap can just go over it. Probably cheaper and easier than making the internal flap removable for people who don't want to use the sling wrap calf strap. Considering how I wear my knee strap on g6 I'll probably remove the sling wrap strap on g7 because the new style lower calf strap does what my sling wrap does now

Love the texturing on the graphic.

It's also worth noting that pro is replacing the e+ line not pro+😉

Overall a very promising looking set imo

  7. My new junior team decided they wanted to give me a test run playing with their lower team for a game. I recorded a .968 on 63 shots against and had a secondary assist on our only goal for. I have now been moved to the higher team lol

Dude hasn't asked for a trade. I wouldn't be surprised if he's fine making his 6.4 million a year to live almost anonymously in Anaheim.

I would definitely be ok with that

My contributions to this site are garbage lol. But I'll take the compliment and run.

@SaveByRichter35 is doing ok as far as I know. He posted a lot of hoorah "veterans day is super important" stuff around that time down there. So dude's alive at least.

I have no idea how I got in on this as well but I'll take it. I try to keep my gear up to date and I guess that helps a good bit and playing a decently high level of hockey it's a very good test of just how well products hold up over time. My konekts and sticks are good examples...

    Buckle improved?

These are not konekt 2s these are konekt that I dyed the holder black on. Konekt 2 should have slightly improved buckles though the bigger issue in my opinion remains present.

Whether or not air france pays for my ccm skates I will be keeping them and switching to them over konekt in the off season.

In one of the last games after Vasilevsky’s return, I noticed that his skates were completely black. Couldn't get a better look. does anyone know the details? before that he had Konekt

Konekt 2. I claim partial credit for bauer switching to black holders on the new model

People used to store their gear under benches to force a curve on their pads. I always saw that as intentionally breaking down your pads early.

Might be worth a shot as springy as pad cores are now

Definitely. I wore the top straps on my double break V4's loose to the point of being pointless.

I never liked (and still don't) the idea of storing pads upside down for more curve either,

Most pads are too stiff or springy to hold curve just by being stored upside too. My G6s haven't really gotten the curve I'd hoped they would

The blocker is apparently a "615"

The 615 blocker style was introduced on the 7X3 intermediate blocker and moves the sidewall to the edge of the blocker, similar to ccm, instead of being offset inwards like the 605 and 595. Supposedly it changed the cuff and thumb piece too but I couldn't see any noticeable changes in the pictures

As for the Brian's gloves I know nothing officially but the blocker looks to be aimed squarely at the Supreme line and this could be the rumored brians 580 but I doubt it since Delia's using it and he's used optik/600 forever

Can either of you comment on how the shoulder floaters impact looking side to side? Glad to hear about the arm mobility, but my other pet peeve when I've looked at upgrading is I can't stand it if the chin of my mask is restricted by the floaters. I want the absolute opposite of what Matt Murray seems to want. Thanks!

I added an extra half inch of padding under the shoulders of mine and wear a throat guard  and still have no issues with mobility
