I broke my EF4 stick, so I dismembered it for science.

Broke my stick at pick up a week ago. So I had someone chop it up for me.

Above is a picture of the shaft internals. The far end is the butt end.

I thought this was cool to see. That's it.

is that foam around the rod or some other filler material? EF4 = composite or foam core?

To be clear, it's a composite stick with foam filling to dampen vibration.   Once I get my chop saw back I'll repeat this experiment with my broken M1 Pro+.

My Ef4 broke in exactly the same place. I used it for about a year, so I can't complain. It was a great stick before it broke - I really liked the soft feel of it.

V1 pro has the same thing. In fact the cr series did too.

Fair to say I have a bit of chopping ‘for science’ experience! The ccm p2.9 was the same way as well as the cr which fun fact, is the only non full right member of this table!!
