They're in HZRDUS pads. The tell is how the thigh thins out, the outer roll, and the profile of the pad. I do think it's interesting that there were a few guys that were 20.x guys that ended up in PX3 pads (main example I can point out is Varlamov, if you want others I can dig a bit). I do find it interesting that Dostal is still in his 20.2 sets and how Soderblom is in the SLR4 (after being in the 20.2 last year). At this point, the 12.2 and PX3 are essentially melded since anyone can order the PX3 with the "mid-thick" thigh, like how the HZRDUS can be ordered with the same option to make it more like the 20.2.

Yea, after my comment I looked up Bob's '24 set and the notch is visible. True's new model is very on par with Bauer's in that options at full custom essentially let you pick and choose a myriad of specs that blends lines together.

Shit, if it wasn't for the defacto yearly release schedule, these guys may as well just be releasing one line at a time.

Obviously I can always be a little wrong, but True seems to be the least likely to totally care about skinning pads as something else just to do it. So much of the league is in the PX3 that if they were going to skin 'em as HZRDUS pads, I feel like they would have pushed that a bit harder.

Well all the 4.1 users pads are all skinned to the latest stiff pad version. ;)

I think True is fortunate that they have a wide spread of users at the NHL level that needing to tinker with graphics for marketing purposes doesn't make sense. They just naturally get it.

That is basically what it is, like how the PX3 was the next step of the 12.2. I think their custom program is finally in a good place, only took a few revisions (which seems to be the cycle for every company, really). A lot of companies have dialed in their custom program in the last few years in ways that have come leaps-and-bounds from where it used to be.

Definitely. The more options the better for us retail plebs. No longer is it CCM and Brian's for easy to acquire customization,

And where is the line between 20.2 and hzrdus now that you can order hzrdus with a thick thigh

Which is just a skinned 20.2 no? I'm under the impression the Hazardous is just a 20.2 with a PX3 thighrise.

Probably not totally factual at this point. From memory the 4.1 user list includes: Fleury, Hellebuyck, Tokarski, and Samsonov. I may be missing someone in the AHL, but I don't think so. The HZRDUS has: Comrie, Sandstrom, Bobrovsky, Blackwood, Bussi, Hill, and Montembeault.

But are those guys is Hazardous? Or are they PX3's skinned? Or 12.2's skinned? Or 20.2's skinned?

I think the 4.1's stand out more because of how easily identifiable they are.

Yeah, that's why I said "a bit" in this case. Having the one strap, in Price's case the leather strap, makes sense to me since it does anchor it. I do know of individuals that strap up their pads without anything on the knee block (the specific example I'm thinking of is TGN with the Supreme kneeblock style pads).

The elastic knee strap down to the calf on Mach pads is more of a suggestion.

    Stabilislide really is cool.

@coopaloop1234, all kidding aside, are the cowlings on your skates trimmed?  I'm still in Bauer Pros with Step Steel Extreme but am considering trimming the medial aspect of the cowlings for additional attack angle.  If so, can you share some pics and insights?  Thanks!

Nothing I've done myself. They're stock CCM Tacks, just before they completely abandoned using cowlings all together.

It's essentially just a toe cap for slightly better protection and style points.

I know I'm late on this but I tried it your way a couple times and the lack of rib coverage was always a concern while I played. Not to mention I now confirm that the body is too long for my torso. I could hack the bottom flap and shorten the sternum bar to make it work, but as I am actively looking at other options out there, doing so to it would highly impede in its resale value. We shall see.

None of the padding is going to be in the correct spots as the unit is far too large for you.

The resale on 2S C/A's isn't great, but, hacking up your current unit would just leave you with a C/A that's more or less useless. I'd highly recommend just going to get a proper fitting unit instead of trying to Frankenstein your current one.

When I was in San Diego, I just used a simple tree made of PVC pipes with a box fan in front of it. Worked well. But when I moved to Washington in 2022 I was finding that in the winter it was cold enough that my gear would never really dry, it would just freeze. And that both sucked to put on the next time, and made it stinky.

Bit the bullet and got a Rocket Dryer. Specifically, the mid-size "stall" model. Worth absolutely every penny. Dry in a couple hours in the middle of winter, even less smell than I used to get drying it on the rack in SoCal, and will usually go out about an hour before I leave and turn it on so everything is nice and warm when putting it on in the room.

It's not exactly "portable", though I have taken it down to bring to a tournament in Seattle once. It does have a bag to put all the parts in, but I definitely would not want to be taking it down very often. Was really nice having it in the hotel room, though.

Well, well, well. Looks who's back.

@Hockey34 those all look sick but make sure it's Kelly green not forest green

Yea, we'll have to have an intervention after your pads come in.

I was told that a Shadow chest protector is coming out. Anyone see it?

Just pictures. Don't expect anything too different than the current Mach chesty.

Which is a good thing. It's my favourite I've ever had

    I agree.

But- Atlanta is the largest US market without an NHL team. They have NHL quality arena and practice facilities already in place.

Honestly, they're the perfect expansion spot - less the Trashers and Flames failures. lol.

    https://www.sportsmediawatch.com/nba-market-size-nfl-mlb-nhl-nielsen-ratings/#:~:text=As of the 2023-24,Worth.

Wanted to do some research to see how true that is and I came across this. Atlanta is right up there for Big 4 veiwership ratings in the USA without a NHL team. Definitely makes sense why they really want to nail down that market if possible.

Funny enough, Phoenix isn't far behind. Makes sense why Bettman and Co. are just refusing to let the Coyotes leave and keep taking that embarrassment of a franchise on the chin

3 on order, have the HL2 set at home, so yeah, 4. Thinking of getting Axis XF...

Ah, for some reason I thought you had the XF on order as well.

    C'mon, do eeet

No. The graphic on my Mach pads was meant to be the TGN Graphic for all future Bauer orders. I had a HL2 order in and the gear never arrived, I decided not to do anything which could complicate the order...

    Brutal.

You liked the Supreme gear more than the Vapour gear anyways right?
