Jealous. Im drooling over the SLR4 chesty. I have a pro stock V8 and i like it, but i do see the bicep gap folks talk about.

Tomorrow is 7 weeks since order date. No update from pure hockey and havent heard anything from vaughn. Hoping to hear by next week that theyre at pure hockey warehouse. Refreshing my email about every 5 min

Mine are supposed to be complete a week from monday. Wait is killing me Pure hockey rep said they would be sent to the PH warehouse, theyd do a quick check to make sure the specs were right and then send them to me. Hopefully that turnaround is only a week but im bracing for 2.
  6. Ah ok then i misinterpreted the argument. I agree the skin itself may play a role but id argue its small relative to the underlying construction.
  7. Theres a lot about the materials and construction that may look superficial but have a huge impact (pun intended) on the performance of the pad (density, foam type, construction/gluing techniques) and improve its ability to absorb and transfer energy back to the puck. Sure the foam absorbs energy but the design itself can dictate how the energy is dissipated, whether into the leg or back into the puck. Id be very skeptical of any claims regarding the skin material improving rebound control.
  8. I cant imagine the skin does much of anything in terms of rebounds unless it just helps keep the foam tension. Having a hard plate on the surface with softer foam underneath probably drives most of it. Im sure there are a few other engineering tricks to get more force back into the puck
  9. Nick dahan on youtube emphasizes that movement a lot in his videos: when dropping into your butterfly to make a glove or blocker save, bring your chest. Lean into it so youre closing gaps and not extending your arms. Its a difficult movement for me to get into but it might help your struggles.
  10. Where is elite in their product stack? Its their senior line but not their senior pro right?
  11. Thanks man appreciate the feedback. I may see if i can get my current runners profiled and see if I like it...then go with whatever works on a Ti or bladetech runner. Should wait for a bit after my pads get here though so my wife doesn't throw my shit on the sidewalk
  12. Yeah i agree but i was thinking more to the extent of rigorous testing under certain parameters to evaluate things like flex, rebound extent, etc. Vs straight garage engineering. Using a formal DoE approach can be very cheap as well if done right, just depends on the background of the designers/company culture.
  13. They market the "agility" runner as the SAM profile but to your point maybe they just do that for the Pro skates and dont sell it that way as replacements.
  14. Looks like a mix of foam and composite...the "pink" foam above looks like standard blown polystyrene which backs up a carbon fiber composite face. Im sure they use different types of foams/different densities to achieve the flex/stiffness they need. I wonder how much is hardcore engineering vs. Trial and error.
  15. Hey Guys, are there replacement LS5-G Agility profiles for sale anywhere? Want to try out the SAM profile and the agility runner comes stock with the SAM profile (on bauer pro skates). Looking to pick some up, but might just go aftermarket if not readily available.
  16. I have a squat cage in the garage i hang my gear on to dry out. Afterwards i store in my bag. Might try spraying it with IPA though, seems likena good way to dry it out.
  17. Thats a pretty solid solution, would be pretty anti-microbial, helps break up proteins/oils from sweat and makes the water dry a bit faster.

Emailed them this morning and Dennis just got back to me and said the due date was 4/8, would be right at 7.5 weeks from the order placement. Seems like theyre on track!
  19. What are you goaler swift? You change gear every intermission?
  20. You have a set of these and the SLR4s? Im jealous
  21. How does the leather/colors hold up against the IPA?
  22. Ive got russian sleeper cell on my nighstand and havent even opened it yet. I spend most of my free time with the kids or scouring the internet lookkng for mor info on the SLR4 pads

My bad, i thought they still offered the V10 XP but would make sense if they rolled it into the SLR4 since both gloves had the same stock break (well SLR3 and V10). Wasnt the V9/V10 a two piece and the SLR one piece or did i get that wrong?

How you mean? The SLR4 offers a 60 and 70 deg break option? Or are there other aspects?
