  1. I was an old Graf Pro/750 guy for the longest time and could never get their next generations of skates to fit right (G50 and 7500). Baked these boots multiple times, punched them, stretched them, tried new footbeds, etc. I expected the newer boots to be stiffer but could never get the fit to feel the same. Not sure if they changed the fit profiles or what. But I went to a custom scanned True and have never looked back. (Except for the 3 weeks I tried a Konekt which I couldn't get to fit right either.) Graf is now a Vaughn company. Vaughn's goal skate didn't sell well. Don't know if that's a good or bad thing for the Graf brand, I'm leaning toward the latter
  2. Did you steal my yoga mat
  3. https://sidelineswap.com/shop/hockey/apparel-jerseys-socks/hockey-socks/pro-stock/l66365?brand[]=69&brand[]=6&brand[]=1 Preconfigured search on SLS for the CCM/Reebok/Adidas EDGE style socks Note that this style sock does NOT have velcro attachment to a jock short/pant, you'll need a garter There is still a decent amount of chaff on there. Either uninformed or dishonest sellers may post retail items as "pro stock" Look for the black branding badge on the item before purchasing
  4. Yes they are taking a slight curve now. I store them upside down
  5. Fastglide vs weave is not a durability conversation, it's a performance one. Fastglide is great on fresh, dry sheets. It's the worst material I've personally tried bad if ice is wet and/or choppy tldr; unless you're getting zams between periods stay away For sizing Use a trusted retailer (Rance at Goalie Crease in Toronto has always been great for me) Use your FTK and compare with sizing chart I've only gone with open boot, can't offer comparison with normal Thigh rise size is up to you, you can measure your current pads for comparison
  6. Personally I like to stay away from white nylon anywhere as it tends to look really gross after a couple weeks Navy nylon in that section with the light blue True logo should really pop
  7. Don't worry about that guy you responded to. Every third post here he writes out the same thing about wearing XL Bauers
  8. Going down a waist size in pants only takes an inch from overall pant length What part of the pad is getting caught? Guessing outer gusset but it's best to be specific Could be how the pants are sitting around leg. Are you wearing suspenders and how do you integrate your chest Are the pants new Pictures of your issue would be the best bet Need to see how the pants sit on your leg with your pads on and what part of the pad is getting caught If your pants are super short they may get caught on the outer gusset (ie if Quick's pants below ended at the red line)
  9. I'm between S/M in Bauer and fit 32/33 in True
  10. Unfortunately skates, like masks, are going to be unique for everyone based on their physiology EX: @ZeroGravitas are brothers with similar foot profiles (high volume, high instep, semi wide feet). Both have owned custom Trues. He tried Konekt and stuck with them. I tried Konekt and couldn't use them. You'll either have to do a lot of trial and error, or go the custom route. In talking with Rance @ The Goalie Crease, True's scanner app is available to everyone now. It's a high cost item but if you're having issues it's the way to go IMO
  11. If the playoffs started today they'd be matched up vs. Tampa Bay. 7 games is generous lol
  12. https://mckenneyhockey.com/en-us/products/xpg2-pro-elite-chest-arm This actually looks decent?
  13. Finalized an order for two sets of straps 2/13/23 Got pictures 2/24/23, promised it would ship following Monday 2/27 Followed up 3/6, no response Followed up 3/14, no response RE: the C/A. I've kind of kept my mouth shut about it the last 4 years as I wasn't sure if I was being whiny or not. Gave them an original Premier 1 to copy 2/13/18 Received mine 5/7/2019 Pros were getting theirs within months, understandable What I think is kind of fucked up is that retail guys were getting theirs before I did Reasoning I got is that "theirs are stock, yours is custom" Full disclosure, I did not pay full price on mine Nice guys, wish them the best, but absolutely done with them. Ordered the straps from Sara at PAW Finalized order 3/16 Got pictures 3/24, shipped 3/27 and received 4/1
  14. I had really good luck with my 3S sticks I ordered when the Ultrasonic was the top line stick. Good price point, all 3 sticks were healthy when I sold them.
  15. Practice environment or games? I catch all my bruises in practice environments where guys are just ripping shots off line rush During games shots don’t come as hard as they don’t have as much time to set up
  16. Don’t do it I think I’m on 8 weeks for simple straps and they’ve ghosted me also waited something like 9+ months for a chest when I gave them the original to base it off of. also this
  17. I had a Vapor with beefed up Mach arms in a camp environment last summer and was catching bruises through the arms from BCHL guys (let alone major Junior and pro) - however it was insanely mobile and was pretty good at deadening shots to the chest. Despite really wanting to make it work I fell back to my CCM AB18Pro. if I can’t find another one to replace it with I may go with a pro beef V5 or the new Brian’s chest @ZeroGravitas has a Passau and either likes it a lot or is too stubborn to admit he’s wrong
  18. Bauer One.9s are not pitched forward 1. True 2. Seems there are two questions here as you touched on both profiling and boot fit in your post. What were your XXXs profiled at? If you don’t know or never did it to those skates then it’s possible they have rounded out over many years of sharpening. If that is the case it’s is basically impossible to diagnose over the internet. Some good skate shops can blade match your old steel to a new set. Fit will be tough to gauge as well but if you’re looking for more forward flex you can experiment with skipping any combination of the top two eyelets. Graf will have the softest boot out there and can build legacy models that were available around the time of the XXX
  19. You can stitch one here along the outside binding of the pad. I think some of the modern True pads have this as an option. Won’t feel exactly the same but should be close enough There are some solutions that involve using the binding cord that runs through the pad (the thick white nylon cord running along the center line of your pad) but I don’t recommend it as excessive force may cause these cords to pull out, and you need these to hold the layers of the pad together
  20. Separate the ice facing knee wing and knee block, red and blue layers below There should be an entry point for the strap on the ice facing side of the knee block, toward the center
  21. “Hi, I was looking to buy these (Bauer pads) from you guys but the only catch is I live in the US. However I have bought (product xyz) from your shop before and I’d like to continue dealing with you because of (service/sales relationship/bad experience with US vendors/another reason of your choice). Can we work something out?” Again. Wink. Wink. Nudge. Nudge.
