  1. Some shops have an exception where if you’ve bought gear there in person they can ship it to you. It’s very much a wink wink nudge nudge scenario
  2. I think I'm completely done with small manufacturers. I don't know what it is about them not being able to hit dates. What's really sad about the whole Battram situation is that instead of going online and being apologetic about it to the general public he started ripping back on people. I think it had something to do with a divorce or separation he was going through at the time? If it makes you feel any better, I once waited 15 months for a chest protector. I provided an original for this small manufacturer to copy, they started selling them to NHLers and retail people before even starting on mine. Original shipped 2/13/18 and received mine 5/7/2019
  3. I don't see a question here. It sounds like you know your answer already (bold) I provided my opinion, which is to go by the sizing chart. I am sure other guys on here who also own the pad, as well as your retailer, will recommend the same. But you do you.
  4. "top of the pad" meaning the thigh rise or the outer gusset while in butterfly? More pictures would help. How the Px3s were configured at the knee for this floor model may help or hinder rotation Also possible some pieces of the knee pad were impeding movement But my first impression is that the pants you tried on were either too long, worn too low, or possible technique issue You can look at getting a custom pant. L or XL waist with Medium length
  5. Knee block is in the same location, refer to sizing charts they have been spot on for me. Px3 is brand new and slightly in the foreground, that is why it looks taller (boot compression, thigh rise curve). Also note Px3 boot is slightly chonkier than 20.2, when sitting SxS the Px3 will look taller, but Px3 also has more of a boot channel Due to the composite insert in the thigh, Px3 will not curve as aggressively above the knee as 20.2.
  6. On a plastic picnic table that shakes when steel being run through it iirc
  7. Lundy's take: ”I remember giving up five goals, and I just wanted to hide behind a rock or something. Just disappear. I would definitely not wave to the crowd,” he said. ”But as a goalie, you have different ways to get into your sweet spot when you’re focused, and you’re making good decisions. And to me, if I over-reacted to things, it was just a sign to me that I’m not on top of my game. But Binnington has different ways to get in there, but the question is: Is he doing too much, to try to get to his sweet spot? It’s ben a lot of incidents last couple of years, now.”
  8. He basically did the scene from Step Brothers with the therapist
  9. Nope, my local hockey stores (Monkey and Pure) only have floor samples of the older model.
  10. I literally LOLed at this because I pictured a CCM exec furiously flailing at nothing in frustration Kinda like how my hand feels in the 591 glove
  11. IIRC True’s new 2pc is essentially a carbon copy of the Bauer’s height/pitch/etc with True’s blade retention system I posted a comparison with measurements between my 2pc True w/Vertexx holder vs True 1pc a few years ago, don’t remember what thread it was in though, I think overall it was a 1/2” height difference from ice to bottom of boot If you are in the US you can order through a Canadian dealer (like Goalie Crease) - apparently the scanning app is available for everyone now, after currency conversion it comes out to maybe $100 more than buying a Konekt with sales tax from a US dealer
  12. Did you just assume the position my pads land in
  13. That’s the rub, to get a better attack angle you have to have a taller holder and/or steel. The main selling point of the one piece True outside of the custom fit is the stiffness between the bottom of the boot and he holder. You can skate on a shallower sharpening while still being able to grip the ice as if they were very sharp. I think I went from 3/8” on the Bauer holders to 9/16” on the one piece True. IIRC the only other concept that’s been thrown out there with regards to attack angle is insetting the holder slightly toward the ball of the foot instead of straight down midline of the boot, but this would probably be a more drastic change to the goalie’s skating mechanics than most would like to deal with. My first experiment with True was to order a custom boot without the holder. I tried to put them on my old Graf cowlings but they do not fit (both size 7), mostly because I have a high instep that would not fit under the toe of the cowling. You may have to order a size larger cowling, or have a shop with a wider selection of cowlings do the mount.
  14. Even worse let’s burn it with acid
  15. I hate this term, can we get rid of it?
  16. I've had some time to finally skate in my Px3s. It's really a great pad, my favorite Lefevre entry to date. The changes are small but work really well together. If you're coming from a CCM (especially an Eflex) pad it's a very safe transition IMO. The catch glove is going to be an underrated upgrade, they close much cleaner than the CCM versions and are much more consistent (I think I've had 3 Lefevre gloves now, all of them have felt exactly the same!). My EFlex 1 and Eflex 4s were both specced as Game Ready D30. This go around with Px3 I went with a Game Ready Xtra and another with a Pro Palm. Have been very pleasantly surprised how clean the pro palm is closing
  17. This looks...exactly the same as what they've always done? Guessing it's something with the cord
  18. He's coming out with another model? Keep in mind, these are guys who basically full-time the position and supplement their on-ice work with a lot of off-ice stuff, and are playing in an environment with higher stakes. For us older guys, hip and ankle strength are the first to go, and these two regions get torqued on the hardest in butterfly. If you're going to tweak your ankle/knee/hip dropping into a butterfly you are probably RVHing shin box to post or not using it at all, and it is just better to manage what you do the most (butterfly) As others have said, regular skate lace has a set end point. I think the key word word we are looking for is "responsiveness" - laces are more responsive when loading into and off the post than bungee. Even if you're using 2.5" of slack on skate lace, most of it wraps around the post, and more importantly, does not expand when your weight shifts into or out of the post. As the speed of play gets faster, it becomes even more important to be able to stop and anchor quickly and efficiently; bungee does not allow us to do that. From personal experience integrating RVH and refining other post play aspects into my own game, I have noticed a difference between the two. I'm currently using ProLaces Armor Hybrid on my pads as I'm still a little timid with my recent knee injury, but once it gets feeling back to 100% I will likely switch back to skate lace. For those looking to improve this range, you can try the drills below Yes, looks like a Rubatex "patch" to me - probably has some adhesive on the back side so it was a peel and stick solution.
  19. Yes chesty is an Eflex body with Axis arms White based CCM pads have boot risers installed
  20. Welcome aboard Order without the boot strap IMO. I don't like how Lefevre does it now, it is exposed in a high wear area near the ankle. Last 3 sets I've had from them have not had boot straps and I really haven't noticed it being gone. For reference, here's a pic from @PAW the OX's 20.1 review
  21. Here's a decently modded out Brown. No extreme stuff (oversized shoulder floaters, gigantic shoulder blocks, etc). It's an extra $60 CAD for embroidery and $70 CAD for the middle custom color package.
  22. Yes most besides the True one-piece will sit higher than a traditional skate with cowlings. I think CCM has the second lowest sitting ride with their new holder. You'll be able to grab an edge quicker from butterfly, but your sense of balance may feel a little higher up than what you are used to.
  23. Fully modded out Brown will set you back >$1k these days
