  1. Yea. It also depends on how stretchy they are. Eg. I bought a set of Bauer's new stretch toe ties that look like regular laces, but I found that they didn't stretch enough for my liking. That's a big part of the equation for me. I found the Brian's and the Passau clone of Brians were way too loose and almost stretched too much. Not being able to shorten them meant they weren't doing anything.
  2. I'm going to put some laces on my HALs to be like Pro Laces. I did see that Monster actually already does sell sleeves for their HALs though, but I like the look of standard laces
  3. Mine probably will look like finger paint. But whatever, it only has to last one game... heh
  4. That’s not part of the theme per se, that’s a text block on the homepage. That’s fixable!
  5. I just enabled a forum theme I'd been working on for a bit. There's still more to do, but the basics are up. Please let me know what you think, and let me know if you spot any issues.

It's always amazing to me how in goalie circles fit doesn't seem to be important. If you check player forums there are countless discussions on getting a correct fit with skates, but then you look at goalie places and see "Looking for bauer skates size 9" as if they aren't all totally different shapes. I don't get it.

    Says plenty. No problem.
  9. At first glance I thought it was from the same game until I saw the cage. Great looking setup though. I actually won a photography session at a raffle about a year ago and never used it. Mostly because the likelihood of getting the whole team to show up was so low. I really should get on that, though, assuming he'll still honor it a year later!

You mean besides the fact that they are two totally different lasts and will fit completely differently?
  11. Huh. If it wasn't for the padding, that's cheap enough that it would have been my next mask.
  12. I had it for about a month before it was out retail, provided as a long-term review for MSH. My MAIN reason for getting it was that Warrior was suggesting they'd solved the vibration issue with composites. They definitely didn't. That skate was in Toronto and @Hills was a skater there, so I gave it to him figuring if I bring it to the event and hand it off, I don't have to worry about carrying a stick bag home. I think he still has it. I can link to my review from MSH if you'd like. But you probably don't want to drive traffic there.

Tthey're referring to the boot construction. The 1 piece doesn't have an outsole (the piece that the holder rivets to) So I guess you could call it a 2-piece vs 3-piece skate if you take the cowlings into account.

    Exactly.
  15. Sorry I meant I thought it was funny that we’re getting a retail version of a pro stick that is painted the way it is because the retail paint scheme isn’t permitted.
  16. I like it also and might get one if they have a color scheme that works. But the reason it has the paint scheme that it does is that sher-wood didn’t want to pay the NHL licensing fee, right?
  17. Hah that’s actually kind of funny.
