  1. So somewhere on this platform I mentioned my getting a Bauer 940 to replace my old age Reidic. I didn't like the cage's sight lines so I went and ordered a cheater cage from TGC. Aside from my nose being very close to the bars, I'm very happy with the vision now. Next up, decorations
  2. If you mean the new version available to the public...that kind of off the rack pro level is sufficient for beer league. I'm not going to play pro anytime soon
  3. The Olympic games are good but the rules kind of guide or restrict the play a bit. What I saw in the PWHL is on another level. During intermissions, the sports commentators mentioned that the question was asked to the women playing in the league of how they wanted the game to look like and the answer was "physical", and that it has been.
  4. If some of you have been living under a rock or too busy watching Gilligan's Island reruns, the PWHL is the new Pro Women's Hockey League. The prior women's leagues were absorbed to create this stronger and better organized league with plenty of hing end financing and sponsors with support from the NHL and more. It's been in the process of development for over a year or more and after holding its live draft broadcast on national TV last fall, the puck officially dropped on January 2nd 2024 for the first game between Toronto and New York. It was a really physical game! The second game the following day was between Ottawa and Montreal in Ottawa and sold out in a snap with an attendance of over 8500 people. That game as well was high octane and a even a fight almost broke out! The third game was yesterday between Boston and Minnesota. It was high energy again and the goalie action continued to shine! I can't wait to see the remainder of the games as rivalries are already happening. Let me tell you, this is nothing like what you see on the international stage. These ladies came to play and play hard they do and get paid for it. I'm very excited to see this finally happen and only wish the best for their and the league's future! You can check them out on YouTube. You won't be disappointed
  5. Phil went to the School of Agatone Business I take it. Too bad, he was a nice guy to deal with and the product was gold. I still wear my neck/clavicle combo.
  6. The way guys shoot in beer league warm-ups, the 2 most targeted areas in a stand-up position are the family jewels and the bucket. Brian's wasn't joking when they printed a bullseye on their cups at one point
  7. Was there a trademark or patent involved with Maltese? His name is the business name yet he states his business partner called halt on production? I'm confused. Has anyone here kept ties with Phil since? Following the topic of the thread, has any Maltese users recently used the Warrior Pro neck guard? It's very much shaped like my Maltese but I think they use their special foams like in the masks, no gel present.
  8. The rules were absurd. Like we are still mite or pee-wee size
  9. I can see the shoulder caps a possible issue but the Bauer forearms are no bigger than the Pro CCM AB18 I just got rid of.
  10. It's hard to see those uniforms without the original Northstars logo for sure. The goalies Dan Beaupré mask tribute is a beauty
  11. https://sidelineswap.com/gear/hockey/goalie/goalie-chest-arm-protectors/6691670-ccm-used-medium-ab-pro-goalie-chest-protector https://sidelineswap.com/gear/hockey/goalie/goalie-chest-arm-protectors/7196508-ccm-used-medium-ab-pro-goalie-chest-protector The second one looks in very good shape.
  12. You'd see the difference in terms of thickness and quality, but sizing remains the same. If you're a medium then a large might bother you in your ready stance.
  13. My personal routine is to rinse my mask under room temperature water (tub) as soon as I unpack at home, let it drip overnight and then fan dry it the following morning for a couple hours. No stink, no "juice", no issues. As @Chenner29 says, if it's an old mask with the thick yellow (cream) poron foam, the glue tends to breakdown over the years, hence why most new masks are using some kind of screw in system to prevent just that.
  14. Maybe off topic but still gear related IMO... The Minnesota Wild should keep their retro Northstars jersey as their main jersey forever! There, I said it. Thank you.
  15. So when is this baby gonna drop on the shelves?
  16. That's it...no more 3 a.m. forums for you mister
  17. The ABPro/500 are basically copies of the then popular Koho 590 that became the Premier or P1 that was a longtime favorite and the occasional pro-return beefed-up unicorn. Kenesky jumped in with their first available to the market legal sized version. The 18 and 22 are beasts!
  18. Did grandpa get up on the wrong side of the bed this morning?
  19. What?? I don't get it. And BTW, Brian's is in the most southern city of Ontario, a good 7 hours away from my Outaouais region (frenchie border). So not that close.
  20. They look nice. Most Brian's gloves are a what they call a 40 break angle, which I think translates to a 60 everywhere else. The one I had decades ago felt like a 60. That one there looks like a 75 break maybe? Resembles my GT2. Talking Warrior, it's cool and funny to see that quote on the cuffs. It would of been cool and appropriate to see that on Warrior gear.
  21. I get the reference. When I say "Canadian", I mean on Canadian soil, in a Canadian city team. Who was the last? Habs in '93, that's it. That is a loooong time and way overdue. Now over the holidays, I'm getting a lot of sports news notifications on trade talks and throwing out names like Dvorak and Allen and Anderson and Savard... Maybe it's just me or how I perceive things but, how in the hell can you solidify a whole and grow towards the objective when you are continuously getting rid of key players that are doing well and producing for the team JUST because their performances has garnered interest and their market value has risen. It makes no friggin sense. We can't expect instant success in a prolonged period from anyone, I don't care how high they are ranked. Team building means sticking with the good people and gelling and providing the results we need to get to that goal. It sometimes feel like we're just a player builder team, getting them ready to move on to a stronger contender. It's been like this for a long time now and whatever they are trying to do or looking for is just not the answer. At least not in my mind. Getting rid of an under performer or a bad seed or that one-too-many player is understandable and expected. We've been rebuilding for 10+ years. Now it's time to stick to what works and make it stronger.
  22. Spandex aside, yoga is a great tool to condition, repair and recuperate as well.
