  1. Lol What I did like about the H5 Erik is its light mobile minimalist design. What I didn't like was the lack of rib protection and belly thickness. I'm sure there are a few unused pro returns stashed away in a forgotten teams overstock closet. Wish I could get in touch with all the NHL/AHL trainers and ask then to check for me
  2. I saw the 905 and 906 locally at the shop. Weight wasn't that bad, nice Kevlar finish inside. Can't remember which it was but one had my nose up at the cage where the other one had sufficient space and a snugger fit at the cheeks. I did find the foam kinda thin though on both. Can anyone comment on the impact feel from shots?
  3. Just won this on Ebay. It's the TGC spec...hope I like it. Big upgrade from my pro-spec H5 from some years ago. Should also be a little better than my Mckenney 870. Starting to feel some sore shots in the arms.
  4. So I guess the cowling lines have been scratched off altogether.
  5. Just some interesting numbers on these. My Warrior Abbys foam core stick weighs 975g My Sher-wood 530 wood stick weighs 970g My new Sher-wood GS350 foam core stick weighs in at 852g. That's a BIG difference! Can't wait to try it out. *All sticks are 26"
  6. Honestly I'm disappointed you didn't add "trainer, coach, asst. coach and GM" loll
  7. Be a man! Show off those pads with pride when walking to the rink
  8. Just wanted to follow up with some interesting numbers on these. My Warrior Abbys foam core stick weighs 975g My Sher-wood 530 wood stick weighs 970g My new Sher-wood GS350 foam core stick weighs in at 852g. That's a BIG difference! Can't wait to try it out. *All sticks are 26"
  9. If so, that's a chop chop job if you ask me. Why not Vaughn take their GX2, reinforce the walls and toe cap and create a sensible well balanced holder, VOILA!! Not that hard when you have all the tools and resources at your finger tips
  10. The LS5 is a major jump, you'll see. I too am still working on the 3mm. A lifetime of cowlings and 4mm takes time to deprogram
  11. Don't know. You'd have to go visit the Graf Hockey FB page and ask. Other than True and small Canadian/USA companies, is there really anything from the big boys not made overseas anymore?
  12. I see some Vapor in there ??? As per a Graf post/answer in the FB thread, these are just a concept model and they are still working on it. There is no set date of release as of yet.
  13. Is it just me or has side elbow protection gotten thinner over the years? I'm guessing that from all the b-flying going around but when you post-up or shift late on a one-timer, you want that extra padding, right.
  14. Those reeboks always make goalies look so tall in their stance. What is that second set?
  15. My purchase today: 2 Sher-wood GS350 (PP41) foam core sticks, 26", regular in white/blue/red (last ones they had in HABS colourway). They were 125$ea but got them at 88$ea. My only gripe is that they are made in China. Will this have an effect on durability? We shall see. I'm saddened to see such an iconic stick brand source itself overseas for production. Stupid part is that I bet they are using Canadian maple they bought from us to then sell back to us My current Warrior stick is getting beat up and my Sher-wood 530 is near death so I just had to. Won't use them until I've bought my new pads and blocker. Y'a y'a, crazy I know. I just want to feel "clean"

    CCM Gear

So while I visited my local shop today, it so happens that a CCM Rep was there with the new lines coming out, I'm guessing for next spring, and I manage to get a bit of a sneak peek.. I'll start with the big one that most are waiting for, the skates. There will be 2 models if I understood well, "Speed something" and another one (forgot the name). The unnamed one was cowlingless. He said they will stand a bit higher than the Bauers (mostly due to the blades) but the pitch is the same. They have a snap in blade and there's a rotary spring adjuster to better secure the blade in place (cue Bauer blades getting knocked off the boot from pucks). They looked nice, almost Vaporish if I can say. I asked him if they've widen the toe box for these and apparently they have. We'll see when some of you get their hands on a pair. The chest pad, not sure if it was the pro or sr, had some D30 used here and there. Looked pretty stiff and in all honesty, if there was some trimming done due to the new rules, this thing looked massive. The other piece I can speak of was the jock. It seems they included some gel in one of the models. What kind? Can't say. I wish I could of chatted with him some but they were talking business and then he jetted while I was checking some stuff out in another section of the store. It doesn't seem like much but expect some leaks through Instagram and FB in the following months for sure.
  17. Didn't know where to post this so here goes: I would like to propose adding 2 new things to this BB. 1- Creating a "Off-ice" forum for postings concerning physical conditioning, pre-game prep and post-game cool down, injury recovery and mental/visual development 2- Creating a "top" button on the outer page margin or at the very least, at the bottom of the page as to not have to mouse up every time.
