  1. I don't believe changing palm size will change where the wrist strap sits. Might be worth reaching out and seeing if they can adjust where it's sewn in at.
  2. I'm guessing that the NHL doesn't want to establish a baseline or level that they consider "acceptable" for liability reasons.
  3. LOL, keep telling yourself that man.... 600 for life!
  4. Those should be really close. Premier to EF or Axis would require an adjustment, but the flatter, softer boot of the EF series hasn't really changed much. I went from an EF4 to an EF5 and the sizing was consistent between those two.
  5. Or PadSkinz if you really want to make it match.
  6. Which is totally worth it! Pop for the triple radius, it's truly a game changer in terms of mobility.
  7. I used to work there. Trust me, they've got tons of old shit sitting around. If it's not on the website, I'd try calling some of the bigger stores (Flint, Livonia, Columbus) and see if they have anything in the store. At the time I left, they only had the inventory from a couple of stores included in the online inventory.
  8. The good news as I see it, is that the crack has reached the bottom of the toe cap on both sides and is fairly small. Given that it's reached the end of the plastic it won't continue to get bigger. At this point, the only concerns are reinforcing the plastic for safety, and doing so in a fashion that doesn't affect playability. For the repair itself I'd probably use Kydex. It's heat formable and adheres with Plastic Welder or even super glue.
  9. Looks like me rolling up to shinney!
  10. EF4 was the best value on the rack at full price, let along at a discount.
  11. I bought my skates several years ago, so they came with the old holder. I tried the 4mm steel, but really preferred 3mm, so I tossed the Vertexx holders on there. It was also prior to the XSG holder. If that had been out I'd have gone with it for the better steel and security.
  12. Not trying to argue with you. I use True skates with a Vertexx holder, so obviously I'm not overly concerned either. I was just pointing out that if you wanted the best of all worlds (better retention and availability of Step with CCM, plus a more aggressive stance similar to Bauer) that it's available. Honestly, until I get the chance to try Ti Pulse, I really can't comment on current top end CCM vs Bauer steel, but I will say I'd take Step all day over the LS5G shit I'm using now.
  13. Plus, if you really want a more forward pitch, that can be accomplished with a profile.
  14. No reason it can't be done. If CCM can do it with the EF5 you'd think Vaughn could blend the best of both worlds.
  15. We'll have to agree to disagree. He's your favorite player and I don't expect you to change your mind, but IMHO, there are two objective factors working against Quick and one that's just my opinion: 1. He was a fairly mercurial goalie, prone to running hot and cold. Granted, he was overall better than average, but last year he was so dreadful that he came into this season as the backup for Peterson and the Kings were considering trading a high round pick to dump his salary. 2. Teams in general are going away from retiring numbers in favor of "honoring" them. Finally, IMHO, while one of my favorite players to watch play, Quick was not in the same tier of player as Lundquist and Rinne who's numbers were recently retired, nor was he a top 3 goalie in the league most years. I hope you're right and I'm wrong on this one, but I feel like he just misses the cut.
  16. Wasn't this the idea behind the Nash insert in Brian's gloves?
  17. Specific examples include Gump Worsley, Rogie Vachon, Ed Belfour and some bum named Georges Vezina.
  18. 32 Quick No, HOF MAYBE, but not worthy of having his number retired 29 Fleury No, as mentioned above his most noteworthy success came in Vegas. They could retire his number (and should) but doing so would dig back up the ugly way they ran him out of town. 88 Vasilevski Hard to argue that with back to back Cup championships he's not deserving. A 3rd Cup would make it a lead-pipe lock. 31 Shesterkin (at this rate) Way to early. Could be the next Jim Carey. 36 Gibson O.......K....... I suppose maybe on the Ducks, but he wouldn't be considered on a team with more history. 31 Price Pretty good chance this happens. And for the love of god put cujo in the hall of fame. Yes! The dude was fantastic everywhere he played other than Detroit, and that was just a terrible fit. Not his fault at all.
  19. To each their own I guess. It's a bit much for me, but most people would say the same of my Scottish tartan Hyperlite setup.
  20. These felt fantastic when I saw them at the store I used to work at. Bauer finally has a winner in the Vapor stick line!
  21. This is the answer. Fortunately I've got a stockpile of EF4 and M1 Pro+ sticks from when I worked at Perani's, but going forward there's very little chance I pay full freight for the new hotness. Pro returns are another option those who are willing to live without a warranty and are willing to live with the fact that they may not be able to get the identical curve the next time they need a stick.
  22. You already see Yzerman doing it again in Detroit. Seider, Edvinson Buium, and Tuomisto were all recent draft picks who are 6'3" or taller and Wyatt Newpower is a UDFA who's also 6'3". I can't see the small, dynamic puck moving D-man like Quinn Hughes dying out completely, but I expect they'll be paired with a big hoss to do the heaving lifting.
  23. Here's the issue I have with this: The guy has (allegedly) been warned about this sort of play often enough to warrant suspension. That means he's done it at least 2-3 previous times and possibly more. At that point it's incumbent on the skater to get his head up.
