  1. Tony Esposito was a notorious modder, and came up with some innovations that were adopted by others. The webbing sewed into his pants, and the wire frame over the eyes of his mask are well known - but I was watching the intro to the 1980 All Star game with my son, and saw an odd addition to Esposito’s blocker. In the game, the commentator said something about a hand injury, so maybe it’s extra protection for that...? Tried to get a decent screen grab, but you can watch him in the intro here:
  2. LOL! Right? I almost tagged you in the post, cus I knew you’d recognize it! My wife bought it for me years ago. Truth be told, it was so nice and warm here I only had it on for 5 minutes (but I was wearing a Wings Datsyuk T-shirt under it).
  3. Enjoying Town and Country with the wife, about to fire up the grill. This one’s a nice golden ale from local favourite Dominion City.
  4. Crazy glove save pic that the official photographer caught during driveway league play today; it’s so good, it almost looks staged... @coopaloop1234 - was about to head into action today, and remembered your comment above. Decided to put on the jock today. Wouldn’t you know it, my kid hit me right in the pills (which we laughed at - but wouldn’t have otherwise) So thanks, man; even the most basic, obvious advice is worth giving - and taking.
  5. Fuck you, Corona! Oh, and this virus can fuck off too; I’m well-stocked:
  6. From CuJo’s biography, for shits and giggles - this is terrible and fantastic at once:
  7. Same here, man - some people have been complaining about being “stuck at home with the kids” but I’ve been loving it.
  8. I’m very interested in hockey history, so figured a thread for pre-modern(ish) goalie stuff might be interesting. I picked 1980 as an arbitrary end date, but we’ll see how it goes. I’ll start with something I noticed looking at pictures of the legendary Glenn Hall during his time with St. Louis. Knowing that he was the grandfather of what became the butterfly, I’m tempted to think that he had a crude knee guard made (maybe for temporary use while recovering from an injury? With a 502 game streak under his belt, he was the quintessential “play through the pain” goalie.) On the other hand, maybe it’s part of a pant girdle sliding down from a Blues shell...?
  9. Oh, man ... rush of nostalgia! I bet the Canucks have won the cup I. That game at least - lol! Who’s on the roster in ‘94 anyway? Maybe throw up a screen grab/pic next time you play it, for old time’s sake!
  10. Wait a sec... PS4...? I’m almost certain I saw a SNES in the background of one of your recent pics (maybe the new twig...?) I used to play NHL 93 on that with my buddy. We actually paused the game every goal, and wrote down stats in a book. We actually did an entire season of that! Damned lazy kids nowadays, with the fancy video games that keep stats for them, and have controllers with 27 buttons and no wires...
  11. Fuck, yeah man! Never had that beer myself, but knowing Brewdog is Scottish-owned, and being a fan of Islay single malts, I can imagine it’s a Smokey ... erm, “peaty” brew. I have ribs in the freezer... just waiting for the right time. Lamb stew tonight though!
  12. Tangerine sour? That sounds real tasty! How was it?
  13. Nice - hang in there buddy; seems like your state is in tough - but it will be easier with quality suds like this!
  14. First time my buddy showed me these back in the day, 3 of us were crying from laughing so hard! Another fav:
  15. Fuck - now I have a serious craving for pork chop sandwiches!
  16. Lol! Similar here - had a quick look at mine, and I’m at about 95 different DIPAs (and hundreds of IPAs in general). Only a few dozen Russian/imperial stouts, which even when its -30 Celsius, I find make me feel too warm.
  17. Just back away, Coop; you’re just gonna get hurt... LOL! In all seriousness, an Indiana pale ale is higher in alcohol, as it preserves better, and the style was originated in the 19th c. so that beer could be sent from England to troops in India (and survive the long sea voyage). In the modern era, the double IPA (or imperial IPA) kinda just means higher alcohol (about >7.9% ABV)
  18. Shit - really? Everything about it seems to check out though. What do you give it out of five? In other beer news, I received my 3rd order from Dominion City, as they just did another batch of my favourite from them, Sunsplit IPA. Good guys there; they have an option to add a donation to local food banks (which my wife and I have done).
  19. Combination of foolishness, fatigue/laziness (I think I was down like this for a good 5-10 seconds), insistence on my part that if I paid extra for pads with knee stacks, then I’m damned-well gonna go down into butterfly, and a false sense of security from using an old tennis ball. ...and here I thought the embarrassingly narrow fly was what was gonna get noticed. LOL!
  20. Action shots of me being scored on by the kids. I blame the gear. I also blame my son’s Assistant coach from this season for making him such a great hockey player...
  21. Gawd... I can’t believe @coopaloop1234 actually got rear-ended on purpose, just to get @SaveByRichter35’s attention. Pathetic.
  22. Pay close attention to how you’re feeling over the next little while; hopefully you are fine, and nothing more will come of it though.
