  1. I really really want to try to convert a pair of these to roller, or convert a pair roller skates to the same lace system. I don't care about the hinged ankle so much as the consistent fit every time out.
  2. I have NO CLUE why they used white on the back. Might as well just rolled w the same sport gold the rest of the jersey had.
  3. Wait... he's capable of something like this too? Has anyone worn something similar this year. This is pretty awesome.
  4. God.... I hate what daveart has done to helmet designs.
  5. The helmet rule is, get the helmet on right away or skate off the rink right away. He can't continue to be involved in the play. It's not a roller hockey rule, it's just a rule.
  6. Kill us all and let God sort us out, swinging that hard is reckless. Thats enough of a reason for me.
  7. Someone does this to me, I'm kicking their ass. Doens't matter in that moment, or moments later when I jump them in the corner. They are getting their ass kicked.
  8. I usually toss my catcher hand up there and pull the puck and blade/stick out of their hands. I've also slashed the stick really hard and taken a penalty, grabbed the stick/puck and the puck trickled out, which resulted in a penalty. I've also been hit in the face/cage with the stick and had the opposing player not get called for high sticking/spearing. Outside of tossing your hand there and getting lucky, they should call this play more harshly. Stick over the crossbar, no goal. Hit the goalie in the face, no goal. Spear the goalie, penalty. Make them make the play right, don't stand there in awe and not want to be the fun police. When done properly with no infractions, I'm cool with it. Zegras looked clean. Others.... not so much.
  9. As someone who wore these pads for years, you can go either way. They are mostly a hybrid pad that helps with the butterfly if you prefer to make butterfly saves in them. They are tapered at the top, so you need to keep the stick down no matter what. I used them as hybrid pads and a blocking pad when scrambles happened in front. They are very soft, very soft. rebounds die right in front for other players to score on. Since they weren't traditional butterfly pads, the puck would find ways through regardless of how well positioned you were. After years of wearing mine, I went to a more modern butterfly pad (Warrior g4's) and immediately noticed the benefits. More unpredictable and far out rebounds, more surface area to block, more seal to the ice / rink and less pucks squeeking in through the thight rise and calf. My advice, use em- I loved em. Play and determine if they work for you and when your ready- find the best pad that suits your game.
  10. Curious, does anyone who own one of these units feel like their shoulders are exposed? I wore mine for the first time last night and it really felt like I was wearing a Rawlings Catchers Chest Protector over a Goalie one. I'm having a hard time with adjustments. Anyone got a photo or three of how they settled in or adjusted theirs.
  11. Just request to join the group, and answer their question. You'll be a part of it in no time.
  12. Steve Goldstein is pretty good, for the Florida Panthers. You should give him a listen when you can. Randy Moeller who is his color guy also is pretty good. If you get a chance, listen to Randy Moellers goal calls on the radio from 2008 or so when he did play by play.... its pretty great. He did it as a call out to Lebatard show listeners when they were a local only show.
  13. hey guys, what chest protector is most similar to the Warrior G2 Classic Pro, the version without the mechanical arms? About Two Years ago, I purchased a unit from GoalieMonkey and they sized me in a Medium unit- and assured me that is my size so I went with it. However the way the unit sits on my fat **** belly, thats not the case. The Split belly portions open up and expose the sides of my stomach when making butterfly saves, and the side of the ribs are more exposed than I'd like. I'm hoping someone has a XL unit they don't want the chest portion of, or to find a company that makes a unit similar. I like that the arms are made with plastic in the biceps and the way the unit moves mobility wise, I just cant keep leaving with 6 or 7 bruises along my torso. Not sure what to look into, it seems I can get Medium Arms with a Medium body, but no one makes Medium arms with a XL body. Are there any custom manufacturers who make a unit similar to warriors with plastic in the biceps and forearms?
  14. Hey fellas, want to say thanks so far. Got these in on Monday, and can’t wait to get them on the rink. Give reskinned by Dave Wilcox. It’s a 5500 Vaughn.
  15. http://hockeybydesign.com/2021/09/hbd-masks-2021-22-mask-preview/ Cmon guys, he was right on the money. I'm sure if my bathroom time wasn't up I can find more articles describing it.
  16. I Think I do, but Warrior letters are pretty stylized- not sure how she'd do it.
  17. I'm not sure who remembers, but Robin Lehner wanted red letters on his Warriors sticks when he was with the blackhawks and the equipment manager ended up making vinyl cutouts to make the letters red for him.... does anyone know of a place that make those currently? I want a color thats not popular and can't get them custom made. Thanks in advance.
  18. He actually was exposed with his permission, as he waived his no movement clause to be eligible. His wifes family is from Washington State, and they were interested in relocationg there with his family to be closer to hers. If anything, it was a bummer he WASNT selected by Seattle in the expansion draft. The media narative was he allowed himself to be exposed with the idea that due to his injuries Seattle would'nt take him and his high salary, and they were able to protect jake Allen as a result.
  19. Legit, really like that the Redwings make the players EARN the veritically arched wordmark on their jerseys by making the regular season team. Wish more teams had little details like that.
  20. Absolutley you could. Check out this video on Carey Price. If you need to add length in the future because he grows I'm sure you can inset a wooden plug into the end.
  21. This is a super cool concept and exactly why I like my toe hooks. I bounce back and forth between Ice and Roller with them. This looks to be the same idea and you don't have to worry about running the bungees every time. Pretty much once you find your fit, its consistent.

    JRZ Pads

I'm in touch with Simon already, just wanted to do some research before I speak with him later in the week. Good to know there may already be composites in the pads. I am modifying mine to feel/fit a bit more like my g4's and so far Simon has been great.

    JRZ Pads

I would rather deal directly with JRZ and send my glove to Dave to get reworked. Communication with Kenesky has been an issue and after trying to give them my money a few times now I'd rather just go elsewhere. The most recent was two weeks to find out if they had a color. They do beautiful work, but they seem too busy to answer questions sometimes. I've already started some of the process with JRZ as well. So far just a start up fee of $100 and if I decide to walk away I'm confident in knowing Simon has earned it.

    JRZ Pads

Looking into getting a JRZ Fusion pad, should I be concerned about the internal construction of the pads? I like my Warrior G4's and want the same internals for the most part. Is there anything I can ask JRZ to do to the inside of the pads to mimic that? Do Warriors have plastic on the inside to cause them not to flex/shrink/get soft? Thinking of going with a single break below the knee, or possibly a double break. I just don't want the pads to feel WAY too soft in the thigh rise. I like a stiff thigh rise, and a pad that can flex with my 5 hole. I got no idea what I'm doing in other words.
  25. Oh man, I didnt know thats what BCC stood for. I wonder how many people have cringed at my emails lol.
