  1. I tried a Passau c/a once and after a game or 2, I too had issues with the stiff high shoulder floaters. They just pushed up too high for my liking.

    Mckenney Gear

To some extent, that is true. I did talk to Trevor on the phone when I ordered my second c/a. I requested an arm switch with the 890 of the time. Not a complicated order but we did discuss specs to make sure I ordered the right model for me.

Agreed. Been wearing their pants for 20 years or so. Owned their 870 c/a on 2 separate occasions. Could of owned the 890 used but it felt small on me. Can't go wrong with them.

    Mckenney Gear

So hard to find reviews on their gear on the web. They don't post any of their own, whether article or video
  5. Skated twice on an outside rough patch of ice the past week, no gear and I gotta say, it's not pretty lolll. I'm hoping my movements are well camoflaged by the gear once I play

Anyone had a chance to see up close or even try on or test the new XG1 c/a? Feedback?
  7. How much space does the bag take in the change rooms on the floor given its shape?

    Beer

Tested the other one, UPSIDE DAWN and it was closer to a micro-beer taste. There's the present hops aftertaste. I read that the stout is apparently pretty good. My next order.

I'll test the other one today and let y'all know.

    Beer

Update: Got the 6 packs Friday. Tried the IPA one tonight. Not so bad. Could be a tad better but I've definitely tasted worse. Went down easy. Buzz feeling aside that some folks look for (not me at all), I can understand how some alcohol as ingredient (3.2% +) can have a taste benefit on the beer, especially for micro-brews variety qualities.

I haven't received them yet but will reply once enjoyed. I tried the Partake line and enjoyed them but not a big fan of the Red and I don't remember liking the Stout. Most non-alcohol stouts I've tried tasted awful.

Here are a few I tested over the past months
  13. Saw the Bruins latest jersey. Looks like a Div. 3 college jersey. Not much thought into it.
  14. Thanks. Got the mask back and the cage is beautiful and I couldn't be happier. Now if only I could get to play already.

Maybe just to crank you up? Or not. "Irregardless"

I just placed an order for Athletic Brewing non-alcoholic beer, IPA and Golden Ale. You must of surely seen the ads on Facebook. Hoping they are a good quality.
  18. I'm in love with Jake Allen's mask but looking around on Google, it seems there are 2 versions from DaveArt? One without the Fleur de Lys and one with?
  19. I'm 6'2, athletic build and mine is a large. I couldn't imagine being in an XL given how bulky it already is.
  20. I will for sure. As for using a forward bag, with the size of my equipment, I definitely need a 36" or 38" minimum or else I have trouble zipping up. Can't speak for the shorties out there though lolll. I also found that some of the intermediate and occasionally junior goalie bags are sufficient for all the gear excluding the pads. Brian's has a nice intermediate one at 38" with a large U shape opening.

    Mckenney Gear

Exactly. Unless you have a pro trainer taking care of your gear or play on professional ice rinks where the ice conditions are pristine. If it's just a shell though, that could work. Easy to wash.
  22. The 2400 is more of the traditional approach. What intrigue's me about the 2200 is the fact that it's more flattened out making it easier to go through entries. As for straps, I'm 6'2 and have yet to come across a bag that fell too low off my shoulders. In fact, I experienced the opposite, too short. I've tried putting my pads in a large bag once and it's a no go. I wear 35"-36" pads. Add the xl pants and large c/a...not enough room and way too heavy on one side, bad for the back. Wheeled bags do tend to be too heavy and the chassis do break down fast, not to mention rolling in snow/slush, the salts just eat away at the materials.

I never understood getting the white pants. That will get so dirty so fast.
  24. Coming back to the licensing and Warrior discussion... It's quite clear that Pete wouldn't want to experience another Tim Thomas episode should they re-enter the league with their gear. As someone stated above, if a goalie truly wanted a set, he would get one period, that I agree. They could just place their own custom order and have it delivered to KW for inspection. Of course, if the goalie asks for logo-less gear, that would be a clear signal of a NHL/AHL goalie ordering. Would Warrior accept? Don't know. What if it's because the gear is not conformed to NHL/AHL rules? This I very much doubt but one never knows. The leagues will go where the money is and who is willing to splurge. It's a monopoly game. Very surprising and frustrating and confusing that Warrior won't play with the big boys. Sure, they got their own clout going at the moment and doing fine. Still...I have mixed emotions on this one. Excuse me...
