  1. Yeah, sticks do that to most vehicles. As for the getting in and out comfortably, with my 6'2 frame, I hate having to crouch down into a seat, trying to get my long legs under the wheel without jamming myself, so annoying.
  2. Kay arms in reference to the Ultra-sonic comments I made.

    Beer

2 nights ago. Light and refreshing.
  4. Waiting on some pics to show/compare. Should be sometime today.
  5. Thanks for the info. As it turns out, I bit the bullet and bought 4mm Step blades for my Bauers. We'll see how I survive that
  6. I doubt Vaughn will ever thin out their pads. They seem to be resisting the change. Speaking of thinning out, no one has yet matched what Brian's and JRZ put out. I'm guessing it's not popular enough. With the new game and techniques being used, a thick thigh rise seems almost obsolete, right? Personal preference I say.
  7. I'm with @SaveByRichter35 on the truck love. I want a compact as well since I'm not working heavy duty stuff or hauling campers and houses. The Tacoma is a dream but high priced, even used. The Frontier is cool looking as in traditional rugged pick-up style. The Z71 is a sexy sleek beast. I wouldn't mind the Ford Explorer Sport either. The Jeep pick-up model is pretty hot. On the other hand, I've been getting a rise from the Mitsubishi RVR. Don't know why but I like the geometry, nice small SUV. Anyone driving one? Does your gear fit well in the back?
  8. I might be late on this one but, while navigating on Youtube, I came accross one of Hockey Reviews videos and there's this segment on the Bauer Ultra-sonic c/a and the arm system looks like a very close copy to the Kay model of the 80s. Was this intended or a happy coincidence?

    JRZ gear

Salut Etienne, can the Prime catcher be made NHL legal like the Fuzion? If not, can the Prime graphic be transferred to the Fusion catcher?
  10. Guys, lets not get overly sensitive here. It is a hockey thread after all and nothing is to be taken personally. Bennington has some issues that need tending to and if he keeps up this shit he WILL get his ass handed to him by someone who WON'T tolerate his on ice antics.
  11. Up for grabs: Bauer Reactor 6000 Pro pads 36+1, white and red (see pic). Made in Quebec Canada by JRZ. Used 1 season, puck marks, no tears or cuts. Pro-laces included. Great hybrid or old school pads. They are one size too big for me. Were bought brand new. Asking 450$ CAD shipped in Canada, $550 CAD shipped to U.S. Reasonable offers welcomed. I accept e-transfer. I'm in Gatineau, Quebec.
  12. Looking for these...for cheap but still in good shape. Preferably in Canada to avoid the crazy exchange rates. PM me. Thanks
  13. Maybe bring back the unicorn once again? Mckenney's pants are bomb proof just like Brown. Their high end c/a has always garnered strong reviews.
  14. I had heard that Mike Vaughn was stubborn about doing changes to gear structure at retail. ??

    Today's pic. Very tasty
  16. Has anyone swapped a Vertexx Edge holder for a CCM XSG quick release holder on their Vapor or Supreme skates? Will the CCM holder fit? Are the CCM blades 4mm or 3mm?
  17. Well, this is gonna be interesting. I won't go into crazy details but off the top of my head: Bauer has led into the mask department but a lot of small brands could hold their own in the show if it were not about budgets. When the ODN1 pad came out, Pete Smith introduced his 6000 which flipped the switch as well and FMade by Dennis (then Piku) introduced his full one piece landing/sliding flap. Lets dig back and revisit the CCM Blockades which was way ahead of the game and quite resembles where Bauer went with the ODN1 pads. The Sher-wood Ceberus was the first line to introduce the one piece glove I believe. Jennison out of BC also comes to mind as the one piece glove. Warrior has a special thing going on but, despite the good success of the R/G5 line, are they going to become a one trick pony outfit? Pete has crazy talent in the creativity department and I'm very curious as to what he will think up next. True...lets just call it for what it is; Lefevre. They are a brand that has a HUGE following even if they have barely change anything in their gear the past decade or so. All I can say is that somewhere in a dark room CCM is in face palm mode. Vaughn is still present in the show, surprisingly. The few that stay loyal to them are the old school feel mentalities. Ex: despite his modern game, you'll never see Rask try something else, let alone switch to a different brand/style. Skates are a little tricky. I thought True (can't remember their prior name) was the first to do a cowling-less skate? Although the current market trend is no cowling skates, quite a few in the show are still sporting cowling skates. Will one of the companies came back with a cowling model to reflect the small pro trend? Who knows. I think a cowling option as well as a 4mm option should still be available somewhere. Brian's has always stood on its own IMO. They offered the most custom graphic options for the longest time, catered to both the old school/hybrid and modern pro-fly goalie. Their c/a has been a constant hit and like Warrior, they try to push the envelope as much as possible. I will agree that Bauer and CCM are the only two that offer full on gear from head to toe and beyond. That alone, regardless of innovations keeps them in the loop for those looking for a one-stop-shop experience or the first timers. What I can see in the show in terms of who holds ground in what area: True for pads/glove followed closely by Bauer. C/A is ruled by both CCM and Vaughn. Pants are clearly CCM. Masks are mostly Bauer. Skates are shared between True and Bauer. Sticks are clearly Warrior followed by True.

Owned the Pro-spec twice and it was ample protective for beer league. If you play higher like College/University, Major Junior, Pros, it might not be up to par. I don't mind feeling shots and you could get the occasional stinger. It's a unit someone like Brodeur would have the courage of using at a pro level. The XPG1 which is the newer 890 Instinct is much beefier and would be considered equal to any pro model at retail. As reference, I've also worn Brown, CCM H5 pro-return, RBK P1. I currently have a Warrior pro GT2 that I haven't tested yet.
  19. That's right! It's the game show where you name a goalie and try to find out where they are now Here are a couple I haven't heard of or seen in highlights during this season: Jaroslav Halak Ben Bishop Jordan Binnington Craig Anderson Ryan Miller Tommy Salo
  20. Just watched this cool video of Ian Clark and his Canucks goalies... Demko looks to be wearing kevlar socks for protection (me wants), and astonishingly Holtby ditched his Graf skates. Could that be (aside his bad team) a reason for his struggle? Some of you might remember the same thing happening with Theodore when he went all Itech in Montreal. He had a horrible season and was traded not long after. I feel bad for Holtby. He had a strong game in Washington.
  21. I tried a Passau c/a once and after a game or 2, I too had issues with the stiff high shoulder floaters. They just pushed up too high for my liking.

To some extent, that is true. I did talk to Trevor on the phone when I ordered my second c/a. I requested an arm switch with the 890 of the time. Not a complicated order but we did discuss specs to make sure I ordered the right model for me.
