  2. The Bauer R9000 looked to be a very well balanced c/a, not too bulky. Wish I could try one on.
  3. My used-but-for-a-season Reactor 6000s are still sitting at home waiting for a new owner to call. It's a very up/down market and unlike the housing market, you can't just go on the premise of "this is the current going price". People want a good deal and will (sometimes) expect things for cheap regardless. It's like a vehicle, depreciation is big even if barely used. That's why I brought up the term "gem" in my initial comments above. It's a hit or miss market but if you can be patient enough, who knows.

All the bells and whistles aside, contrary to all the other Ritual models (G and GT), the G5 is the only one (that I'm aware of) that doesn't have a drop tab for either a traditional lace toe tie or bungee type set-up. Is it noticeable to the performance of the pad as in rotation or pad reset or ankle torque or all that stuff?

  6. Some guys are already doing it on Facebook. I've flipped some old school rare gems in the past. If you find, refurbish and resell at a reasonable price, you can fetch some descent coin and feed the market need and wants.

Nice touch with the pic ;D Here is my take...remember when you played road hockey, in the fall before the snow dropped, you couldn't slide your feet or pads in anyway possible without ruining your gear, or clothes, or some skin in the process. THAT is how you have to approach your game in a gym environment, kinda like you pointed out already. If anything it helps you think more about your angles and depth, not to mention some sweet '80s highlights Here are some tips I found out when I gave gym hockey a shot...wear wool socks over your shoes, the cheap grey work ones, helps with sliding your feet across and in split saves. Wear steel toe shoes or boots to avoid that painful toe shot or slash. Finally, get some shorter pads, 1"-2" shorter. Since they are resting on a lower surface than your skates, it makes them rise higher and becomes cumbersome, your mobility will be that much greater. Have fun!
  10. I did the same thing lolll. This would be his second try at True skates, the first time being with the 2 piece model. lets see how long it will last. Sometimes the goalie isn't pulled as to not break his confidence (ironic as that might sound), especially if a veteran. Some goalies are of the sensitive type and they might read it as a personal critique rather than for the good of the team.

  12. @SaveByRichter35 is talking about under knee pads padded sleeves, like if you wore volleyball knee pads under the knee pads for added protection when dropping into the b-fly. I can understand his delima as the friction caused between both pads could be the problem.
  13. I swear, if i had my own vehicle and Quebec didn't have a curfew, I'd probably be playing and coaching every night. Count yourselves lucky guys
  14. Maybe consider the following brands: Brown, PAW, FactoryMade. Soft landing foams with ample protection. Otherwise, some under knee pads pads as suggested.
  15. Saw the Stars game recap. Those pants... In other NHL news, watched the Ducks game recap and Miller looked either hurt or discouraged or just done with. Maybe it's time to hang them up.
  16. I've been out a season (almost 2) before because of an injury. Covid is not my fault and I can't do much about it. Things on the Gatineau Quebec side are still not open. On the Ottawa Ontario side, things are rolling hard with all the new rules, but most games are at night and the province of Quebec has a 9h30 curfew that I can't ignore. The fine is too salty to take the chance. I usually run as well, all season and the lack of playing hockey through winter has just about snuffed whatever is left of my athletic fire. Add on top of that being laid off a month ago. I wouldn't say I'm depressed but just tinkering with the gear and doing Maria's b-fly challenge and watching the Habs games is just not quite enough to fill that void I'm feeling. The mask and new rules and all that, it has me wondering how much can I actually enjoy the game because of that. I sip water every whistle, can't do that with a mask. Quebec winters, dressing outside, NOPE! Driving to the rink half suited up in a regular sedan, I barely feel comfortable with normal close with my 6'2 frame. I even wonder if the rules are over exaggerated. I hear you loud and clear on this one!
