What is that?
Right? I wondered the same thing - thank you for asking, @estogoalie!
Now we just sit back, and wait for all the answers to roll in. Because, like... y'know, everybody besides us knows what these are... right? RIGHT?

Just an update on my own personal situation (because I'm special and important... and I started this thread, so like... there's that.)
Physio yesterday was super pleased with everything, the knee is strong, mobile and almost pain-free, so I am clear to do on-ice work in full gear with a physio (yes - at the same place as my phyiso, they have a 3-on-3 ice surface for training, lessons etc.). Tried on all my gear on the carpet last night to make sure I remembered order and everything (not even kidding; I'd only done this goalie dressing thing ~20 times before getting injured. Better to make a mistake in my basement than in the room). I'm on at 12:20 today... what the fuck am I supposed to do until then?!?!?
The child-like excitement about playing goalie is back with a vengeance! My wife even said that I have been noticeably happier over the last week, as this day approached! Now if I can get back into it, and go injury free for a good stretch, I'll be allowed to buy new gear!

As an expert on low-quality goalerizing myself (like, to the point that nobody takes any pictures of me) it looks like you're holding your stick in the wrong hand; Fix that, and you should see some improvement.

I am telling you what- that has become my new old stand-by; they are BLOODY expensive, but WELL worth the dosh!!!!!
Agreed. Makes me think of some other favourite Ales from the UK. We used to be able to get Double Diamond here, but North American distribution fell through circa 2005 or so(?) I also really enjoyed Tartan Special, but can't get it here anymore either. Bass is always a solid choice, and Fuller's ESB is an essential classic pint. London Pride, Abbot Ale, Spitfire Ale, Bombardier Ale all good choices available here too.
Well now I've gone and done it; sitting here at 7:40 am, and craving a pint of ale! LOL!

Finally picked up my old Promasque Classique (circa ‘98) from my parents garage. Was thinking about getting a brand new mask but opted to go the “full refurbishment” route through Matty at Promasque. Just shipped it off today so should have back in a few weeks. Went with white powder coated pro cat eye and white straps. Will post “after”shots when it arrives.
Ps - my brother did the paint back in high school! Not bad at the time and free wasn’t bad either!!
Oh, 1998, so not that long ago, just about... (does math, runs out of fingers, starts again...) TWENTY YEARS!?!?!

Some of that stuff - despite its age - looks to be in pristine condition though! Great pics, great stuff - thanks for posting this!

Great thread here to bump or revive, if any new (or old... uh, I mean "less-new") members want to share anything in the way of introductions!

I'll be posting more info on the unit in my topic linked at the bottom... but wanted to get some pictures of the new C/A out where those who don't frequent the Passau aisle can see...
Delivered today... I snapped a few initial pics but more to come along with the obligatory weigh in. I've only had it on for about 3 minutes and some adjustments will be needed of course... but I can say that this is WAY more mobile than my Premier unit. Not to mention it looks SO GOOD. I still can't believe Passau forwent their initial push back on using their face type on the logo and kept it true to my final rendering. To say they nailed it is an understatement for sure!!
Tech Specs:
- Large Body & Medium Arms
- Pro Pack
- Removable Side Protection
- Removable Belly Extension (2")
- Pants Strap
- No Outer Belly Tab
- Top Loop on Back for Hanging
- All White
- All Nylon Floaters
- "Stolz" Stitch on Floaters (@Punisher Goalie idea)
- Custom Patches w/ Embroidery
Original Inspiration Final Rendering (Version 16)
Images from Passau prior to shipment
Images taken today upon delivery
Close Ups of the Patches
Right Arm (Stick Side) Left Arm (Glove Side) BadAngle41 Pro Pack
Right Floater
WOW! It looks so pristine... for me, it would go on white the first time, but I’d probably sweat that bastard yellow in 10 mins flat - lol!
Congrats @BadAngle41: you must be thrilled!

I don't think you even want to tempt me to spam cat gifs.
Also, don't you have an old man injury to nurse?
First point: You are correct; cheerfully withdrawn.
Second point: old man injury...? Maybe - but I can't remember.

Dude - you didn't just cat-GIF, did you? What a commoner thing to do - I mean, don't we get enough of that cat crap all over the internet from millennials?
This is behaviour unbecoming of an elitist. I think I'm gonna have to go back and UN-like a few of your past posts...

Nice! Fingers crossed for that clearance, @bunnyman666 !

Should have shown my four hour smoked chicken with a cocoa rub on here! I am drinking Stella Artois, Blue Moon and Corona Familiar!!!
Deviled Tropical Urban pheasant? Yes, you should have posted that! I mean, I started this thread, and with all the power that comes with that (read: no actual power) I say yes to BBQ pics in the beer thread!
Maybe you'll be enjoying a beer 'round about 2:00pm EST today...(?) Big match for the lads!

Well, can’t goaler right now (probably never could) BUT saw my new physio again today, and she is UNBELIEVABLE!!! She’ll have me back on the ice by late August! In the meantime, I’m doing the exercises, saying the prayers, and taking the vitamins- and supporting small business, so here is my beer: Starring Zythos, by Beyond the Pale brewing company. (If you’re ever in Ottawa, first ask yourself “WTF am I doing here?!?!l” but then check out Beyond the Pale)

Hangnail. Brutal pain. Survived final period with it. Had to be helped off ice by teammates. There's a plaque at the rink for me from that game.
It's nice that we can joke about our chosen sport and related injuries, but on the opening day of the World Cup, let's not forget about those poor footballers. I mean, judging from their reactions at least, they step on landmines and get shot by snipers every game. Wouldn't mind getting my hands on some of that magic spray though; a shot of that, and it's almost like these guys were never even hurt in the first place!

I'm a fan of this thread... plus, I'm not playing right now because I'm injured, I have no money to spend on new gear (and my stuff is only about 2 months old anyway), and I don't have a wealth of knowledge or experience to share while convalescing, so imma gonna BUMP!

Gaping hole, like you’re getting beat there? Or you’re looking at the pics and thinking there’s a (very small) gap?
might simply being a case of one being one’s own worst critic.

I'm getting better. I squatted 125 for 10 reps with no pain. I'm on the elliptical, including high intensity intervals with no pain. Some of the butterfly movements that I'm doing off ice (and very slowly) are still iffy. I got subs through next week (which will be 4 weeks) and hope to get on the ice on the 25th.
Great news, Jeff! I hear ya on "...some of the butterfly movements..." I thought I had been feeling pretty good lately, so I also threw the pads down on the basement carpet to see. I tried to mimic a push, and definitely felt it.

Missed this post (mid-August was a bad time).
Although I like to think I have pretty decent awareness of US beers - particularly from the northern states - I have not heard of any of these. I'm intrigued though; if you (did) end up trying any of them, let me know how they are!
My most recent "new" US beer was a few weeks back. A buddy's cousins came up from MA for a funeral, and brought some "Bright" by Tree House Brewery. That was damned incredible (if you like the NEIPA style).
