  1. Did you add the DCT (new poron material) to either the thumb or the palm?
  2. I am not this person. I don't know who this person is. Sorry
  3. That was my question answered in those pictures I'm not in the market for a new chest protector, I just wanted to hear what they'd say and hoped to get more details about the differences between the pro and pro+.
  4. I'm using chrome for my browser; the official CCM customizer is just not good. The problem with the retailers customizers is that if you are trying to order it as a set you cannot change the color layouts for each piece individually, like you can in the CCM customizer. You'd have to order each piece separately instead of the "full set" option. For example, the CCM logo color you choose for the outside gusset of the pads is actually the color that will be on the face logo of the blocker/glove. If you want them to be different colors, there is no way to specify this in the retailers full set customizer.
  5. I'm trying to use it now and it is so bad. Slow to update, rubber-banding your selections back to various colors and then giving an error that the colors overlap, weirdly continuing to highlight the areas after you've made a selection so you can't actually see what the final design looks like without glowing outlines. They really need to get it working better.
  6. I've had an excellent experience with my custom Bauer chest - hyperlite body with pro series arms, beefed up shoulder floaters/biceps/forearms. Never gotten a bruise through it, very comfortable, and comes with an elastic strap to attach it to the back of my pants to hold everything together (I wear it untucked). I tried a Passau chest and it was very comfortable, and had good chest protection, but the arms were lacking in protection (to me); I got several stingers to the bicep and forearm areas in the course of a single warm up, and the back of the arm strapping was not as well done as the Bauer, in my opinion.
  7. I thought that, too, based on my experience trying on the stock 591 at the store. But then I won a CCM set in a giveaway and got the choice between Eflex5 and Axis 2 - I chose Axis 2 because I figured I'd get a bunch of specs I wouldn't normally use (like the 591 break) just to try them out and, if I didn't like them, I'd sell them a few months later. Shift to now, where I sold my brand new True set that I had ordered because I like the Axis 2 set that much. Maybe I got lucky, but I am using the 591 break with a pro palm and it closed well out of the box. I baked/stretched it a couple days before I used it on the ice for the first time, and it closes easily and perfectly for me. Consider me converted to a believer in what CCM is doing - I have always been a 580 guy and I am excited to try their 581 break on an Eflex 6 set.
  8. I spy a 90 degree glove break as a custom option. Our prayers have been answered!
  9. The stock True gloves in the store (non-domestic version) feel much worse than the one you will get if you order custom. The PX3 that I got (580 break, game ready extra palm) closed easily and perfectly right out of the box.
  10. Shockingly, yes. I was as surprised as anyone. I will say that the custom CCM gear (especially the glove/blocker) feels much better than the same models I tried on as stock gear in the store.
  11. For sale is a brand new set of True Catalyst PX3 gear: pads, glove, blocker. Colors are White/Navy/Red. Specs below. Pads: 31"+2.5, single break core, single break outer roll, stiff thigh, weave on the sliding surface Glove: Game ready extra palm, 580 break Blocker: Straight finger protection, half-piece cuff, bindingless face Asking $2300 including shipping in continental USA; if you're in Canada or father, we can work something out on shipping. Ships from Houston, TX.
  12. These are now sold. Please close this topic.
  13. I am very happy I went with emboss (weave) on my axis2 set. They slide great.
  14. You could still get the Pro Series body with Mach arms in that case. I believe that is how James Reimer has his chest protector set up now.
  15. They did. I didn't care enough to send it back and wait for it to come again.
  16. I have a set of PX3s coming in, and I won a giveaway so now I also have an Axis 2 set as well (which I like a lot more than I thought I would). Don't need 3 sets of gear in my garage
  17. Full set of custom Bauer Mach goalie gear in White/Navy/Red. Used 1.5 years 2x/week. Specs differ from stock where noted. Pads: 100 degree (vapor) boot angle Pro stock calf wedge and pillow (flatter than stock calf wedge) Blocker: Vapor 2-piece construction (1X feel) Glove: Added poron to palm INT internal hand size Original toe, boot, and tune fit connect straps included. Asking $1800 for the full set. Ships from Houston, TX.
  18. You can order the Bauer Pro series at retail now - it's just a regular custom order, and you can have the reinforced shoulders/biceps/forearms for no extra charge. You can also mix and match - I use one with a Hyperlite body and Pro Series arms with all the beef ups, and it has been a tank for me. https://goalie.purehockey.com/product/bauer-pro-series-goalie-chest-protector-custom-design-senior/itm/44213-41/
  19. Thanks for the information! My set just came in to TGC, so I should receive it next week. Then I've got some decisions to make about which set(s) to keep
  20. He's been doing the thinned out thigh rise for a while now - see this video examining some of his pro returns last year:
  21. Does the concavity of the boot channel offset the thicker boot on the PX3? Otherwise, it looks like the below knee break on the PX3 is higher up (i.e. the knee block is higher) than on the 20.2. I actually ordered mine down a size based on conversations with the folks at TGC and from these pictures it looks like that was a good idea.
  22. I, too, am 5'7" and have hands right on the border between int and Sr. sizing, according to the guides (7" from wrist to tip of middle finger). I ordered an int palm in my Sr. Bauer glove and find that it is actually a little too tight for my preference. I don't know if it's because I got used to playing with a Sr. palm all these years, but I would like a little more room for my fingers; they feel a bit smooshed in the int sized liner. And, honestly, it did not really make it much easier for me to close the glove anyway, which you would think would be the biggest benefit of an int palm in a Sr. glove. But gloves are super personal preference, so if you really like a tight-feeling glove, then you may have a different experience
  23. I believe the HPG12A was the last CCM pro stock pant that had the flatter thighs, before the rule change in 2017 going to the rounder thigh protection on the pants. Here is a video explaining some of the differences: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qGCjJAnI_mE For sizing, they go by the fit number as @BadAngle41 said above. Fit 1 = Small, Fit 2 = Medium, Fit 3 = Large, Fit 4 = XL. Sometimes you will see a +1 (or +1.5, +2, etc.) on the sizing (e.g. Fit 3 + 1) which refers to additional length being added to the pant. If you're a very tall but comparatively skinny goalie, you might want a Fit 3 + 1 where the waist fits like a Large but the length will be more like an XL.
  24. One week I will have a league game where half the other team's shots are not breakaways or 2-on-1s, but it was not this week...or last week You'd think that our side would have games like that, too, except all my team's forwards like to skate directly into a 1 v 3 every time they enter the offensive zone this season. Ah well, a man can dream!
