  1. Ah there's the difference. I hated GT2 lol. Felt terrible to me in store and the added torsional flex to an already very flexible G4 pad felt rough. Never could get the thigh rise anywhere near the ice with GT2. I also agree the down to the calf strapping on G6 feels off. For that reason my knee strap is attached to the inner wrap. I feel like the stiffer calf wrap was definitely a miss and I could see why it felt awful with the wide calf wrap option because it wouldn't bend like previous pads. I avoided this issue by getting the narrow option . Basically all the issues you had I avoided by changing strapping or via custom specs.
  2. I agree the blocker is the weakest part but I've gotten used to it and while I don't prefer it to Mach I can finally put them at equal. You know you could just wear G6 like G3 and G4 right? You don't have to use the calf wrap slots, the inner strap is removable and it comes stock with the wide calf wrap. That said I absolutely love the new strapping specifically because it makes the pads play like my super tight fit ccms did. Plus if you go for a full Mach set you'd have to leave the unmentioned group ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  3. Ran into the same issue on G2, G4, and now X3. It's intentionally designed that way to give the arm more space to absorb impact due to it sitting farther from your actual arm. The only way I found to counter it was tightening the forearm and the bicep strap and even then it's quite loose. I'm surprised to hear you got large arms if you normally wear an XL. I wear a medium in every chest protector except warrior which I wear a large
  4. I'm sure there's plenty floating around. Should've gotten white and black to start with the colorway is solid
  5. It does not lol I've complained for years that we don't have padskinz and always had to order it direct from them
  6. I'm gonna order all white with off the shelf specs
  7. So what you're saying is if I order the same specs year after year and don't change anything then I'll go pro
  8. Lindbom still using a G6 glove in the ECHL after Rangers training camp
  9. Never let him unbox his own gear again. Surprised he didn't cut the pads
  10. Willing to bet a lot of these wear spots are because I ordered weave. My standard black jenpro practice glove has no wear spots. I love weave though so I'll still order it as long as I have colors to match
  11. This is after a summer of training and about a quarter the way through a season of swedish junior hockey
  12. But at least they'll be new and expensive and not 2 seasons deep for $550
  13. As previously stated, nothing out of the normal for wear. Tried to be as picky as possible with finding wear spots
  14. Highly discourage them from using the slide plates. If changing direction is already a struggle then going faster won't help lol
  15. Starting to see small wear spots on the top and bottom corners of the pad, nothing out of the usual. The nylon stitching at the boot break on the sliding surface is disappearing though it would probably be worse if it had a binding. Plus that stitching doesn't appear to have any kind of purpose. The slide plates are definitely very useful on the larger ice. They allow me to make backdoor saves that I wouldn't otherwise make and allow a lot of energy saving since I don't have to push as hard to travel the same distance. Now that I'm getting used to them I don't over slide and often have time to even recover to my feet. Still wouldn't recommend on North America sized sheets
  16. I'll order an all white set. No logos, no embroidery. I will make the most bland set possible.
  17. Because you want my HL2 set once I get back to the US
  18. Completely agree on US stiffness. I probably won't even bother with a Shadow set since it's unlikely the glove will work well for me. Tunefit+ is good but I liked the CCM/Lefevre super tight fit so much more and G6 feels very similar once you make a simple strapping change. Before True entered the goalie market a large majority of the goalies at the NHL level in Eflex were using the super tight fit option and it made no sense until I tried it myself. It allows a very connected feel to the pad without sacrificing rotation or mobility. It's part of why I liked playing in my EF5s (its shame speedskin and a 580 ruined that set lol)
  19. With more and more normal sized pro goalies appearing its not too surprising that mobility is taking priority. I've considered ordering medium upper and lower breaks on my Warrior set next season instead of stiff upper and medium lower. The my ultrasonic stiff HL2s are softer than my G6s and is nice for mobility. Still prefer how G6 plays overall and the slide plates are beginning to show their advantage on Olympic sized sheets
  20. Slowly but surely we're returning to softer, smaller leg pads. Also interesting they kept the PX3 tapered outer roll at the top and it appears he shrunk back down to a 33+1.5 instead of 33+2. Might be an optical illusion
  21. Truly one of the games of all time
  22. I check insta about once a week and unfortunately today was the day I checked. The same day Bedard scores. Couldn't find any cool goalie stuff just 20 posts on the same thing
