  1. First on ice use in the books. Still feels and catches like a 580 though the palm is still creased. May have to make a whole new palm depending how flattening It out goes
  2. It feels right on the hand but certainly doesn’t look right For now the only lacing pattern I changed was the thumb side where I added a hole so I could make the heel of the glove use less lace.
  3. Glove is relaced but still feels off. Looking at the shape of it I’m really starting to think this was a defective glove with 580 tee and cuff but 590 everything else. The palm bulge was super common on earlier 590s and the overall shape screams 590. Might need to fully pull it apart again and see if there’s any identification on the cuff foam
  4. Before I start punching holes in the plastics and foams I decided to just do a standard full relace and see how the glove closes. So far what I’ve learned is that everything in the glove was off by a hole causing the foam to bunch up and the break to buckle. In addition to that the tee plastic on the thumb side had slide down, wedging itself right in the middle of the thumb tee break. Overall the glove was built like a heap and even a standard relace should fix a ton. As I put this glove further back together I’ll add to the thread. Forgot to take pics before taking the glove apart so I just have the listing picture I didn’t have the glove more than 10 minutes before pulling the laces out of it it felt so broken.
  5. I was surprised too! No complaints here though since the internals aren’t much different from the EF5 580 I had. Slightly lower quality plastics and probably cheaper foams but feels all the same. @coopaloop1234 since the original barcode tags are still on this glove it turns out it’s a custom 18k somehow
  6. With certain things on the horizon I wanted to get back into using well built 580s and since ccm seems to struggle with that, I picked up this reebok for $50. Upon arrival I noticed the palm foam was bunching up and way too tight. The solution? Top to bottom relace. I have a few planned changes that I’ll show as the thread progresses. Below is the palm foam bunched up.
  7. It looks like they finally went back to offsetting the tee like Lefevre and Reebok always did which I imagine makes a huge difference!
  8. I regretted ordering it on my Eflex set every time I took the ice
  9. Play it again in Colorado Springs had a virtually brand new P4 18K 580 for $50 so I might’ve bought that to get used to the shape in preparation. Also props to ccm for starting to turn everything around. It may have take a few years but I like what they’re doing and I’ll love it as soon as speedskin is gone.
  10. Nope ccm 580s are still easy to close it’s just that I’m not a fan of the shape. The dip in the cuff and how much the pocket extends above the hand really throws me off. Bauer 580s are like 600/580 mix as far as shape goes. Looks like that might not be a problem for CCM much longer though. If it is I may start looking into building my own bauer style 580s. Maybe even without the bend in the tee As shown here the difference between the two glove shapes is massive.
  11. Kills me that the blocker logo is backwards from normal
  12. Demko in EF6 90% sure this is the stock graphic. Super excited for the glove with this set which unfortunately Demko is not using. Pictures of the new glove are floating around just can’t remember where
  13. I have a Reimer bauer 580 and will probably take it apart here soon to pad it out for its third season of use. I have beat the living hell out of this glove but the plastics and structural foam are still good. I wish I could get another but I may be reduced to ordering a bauer set and CCM glove next year (not a huge fan of ccms 580s)
  14. Just heard Trav will be in the Fed which is hilarious to me because one of my teammates last year made a Fed team after we had a 3-44-0 season in the NA3HL. Clearly the bar is super low to get into that league and Trav barely scraped by getting on an expansion team
  15. Training camp has begun for us down in Austin With a jersey on you can see just how ridiculous those warrior arms and shoulders are. This set is the most dialed head to toe I’ve ever used. As TGN pointed out the glove break in has been super easy.
  16. Personally I think G6 is the first pad of many to come that slides too well. Sure it’ll be great on back door tips but any attempt to time a slide is going to be difficult or result in drastic oversliding. If you have to stop your slide with your skate you’re just opening up holes. Mach feels like a healthy balance in sliding to me. Plenty of slip when you need it but not too much to where you’re losing your positioning every time.
  17. The first picture was reflecting off the boot my mistake Thought it used cable like the center section of the strap.
  18. Looks like they used cable instead of the rigid metal attachment like before. Is this correct? If it uses cable there’s no need for an arrow since cable is flexible
  19. Last update I got from Dudo said around November
  20. It’s a Mach. Apologies for the wait. Yes the thin section on the top of the blade has cracked from a shot judging by the tape before I took it off.
