  1. My biggest issue with most retail chests (besides Warrior and Mach) is that there’s usually a gap at the elbow break where a puck can fit during dead arm blocking once the chest is broken in. It’s 2 weeks later and my arm has only now stopped swelling but still has bruising all the way through. This incident resulted in me coming up with this monstrosity. I haven’t built it yet but an order has been placed for a X3 Pro+ chest. I’ll probably also throw some modified premier shoulder floaters on it
  2. It’s all sewn in for the most part minus the lower back strap if I remember correctly. Lehner on the other hand is just a big guy let’s be honest.
  3. All I know for sure is that the hyperlite chest he had was oversized in the shoulders
  4. Pretty sure there was suspicion all year that it was oversized. I never got a confirmed answer until presumably he was out of that chest. Images like this caused lots of doubt that the chest was legal. Part of the reason the arms look huge is because NHL arm restrictions mean the arms are actually deeper than they are wide so in theory if you wear the arm sideways you cover more As @coopaloop1234 said, Vasi did switch at some point last season to the CCM. At least on the night of the Cup winning game he was wearing it 4F41AA33-0D1D-4339-88AA-940CEA996B82.webp
  5. I got it confirmed while I was on the phone with a rep
  6. Untucking is a huge factor but it’s not going to be that drastic of a change. Especially in the shoulder area.
  7. The only goalie I've cared about for the past month or so, Vasilevskiy has gone back to an NHL Spec CCM. Pretty sure this was a forced change going into playoffs because his last chest was confirmed to be oversized by Bauer.
  8. It felt pretty much perfect for me
  9. It’s honestly concerning reading the thread. I’m just hoping my Mach’s are halfway decent
  10. Finally got to try an Axis 2 set in store (not just a2.9 this time). The leg pads are definitely my favorite piece of that set followed closely by the glove. Surprisingly I'm not a fan of the blocker specifically the wrist strap. it felt too bulky around the wrist even with the cuff flared. The 591 shape is far better than a standard 590 in my opinion thanks to the deeper palm aka funnel shape compared to the pancake of 590. Not to mention it's already starting to break in wonderfully just from people picking it up and trying it on the retail floor.

  12. I had EFlex 5 with speedskin and they slid no where near as well as bauer. I have heard that Axis with weave slid just as well as bauer in some situations though so I’d imagine Axis 2 would do the same
  13. One question remains, how do they slide compared to bauer?
  14. Bauer jumped $50 on all Vapor player equipment. I didn’t keep track of the vapor goalie prices. That said I did notice as well that the majority of warrior stuff is getting to be more expensive than bauer. I’m not certain why that is but I’m not worried about it personally.
  15. Manufacturing cost is going up so retail cost is too. We had to change virtually every price on the floor and go around with price guns to fix the tags at the store last shift. Unfortunately there’s nothing really we can do about it. Also X3, although a 2021 model is like bauers elite and gsx lines, it goes unchanged for a few years and then it’s replaced
  16. Do it. Slide across the whole zone and get icing calls off rebounds. Btw the pads are also meant to sit kind of low on the skate as most absurdly stiff pads do even when worn tight. (Kidding on the sliding of course. It's good but nothing will be that good)
  17. Not really a huge or surprising update but vasilevskiy has switched to a Mach glove in the middle of playoffs
  18. Here’s to hoping I like my Mach set as much as these 1X pads. I had 2S for a bit and I actually like 1X more. Hoping I didn’t make the wrong decision ordering supreme instead of vapor pads.
  19. It’ll depend on the level of shots you’re seeing. From my experience B league and up the Bauer does better but anything below it’s all Warrior. The Bauer just takes hard shots so much better
  20. Its a stiff ccm stick thing. Happened to tons of P2s and Axis sticks but oddly not Eflex.
  21. Maybe you should be using a 600 then All joking aside, supposedly your fingers will form indents in the glove over time. Even when the suregrip wears out I would expect the indents should be deep enough on the front and back of the fingers to secure your hand.
