Follow up: Vaughn says the SLR-X line was not domestic and will be equivalent to Sr level gear Also, just got confirmation from Vaughn that leg pads were made if you can find them. They have quick slide
-
Just pro according to Vaughn for the chesty. I would think gloves would be the same. I’ll double check though
-
Vaughn confirmed SLR-X was a retail product that got shut down. Those gloves and chest protector are one-off samples. So if you want one or a kind gear that’s a good option
-
Here I’ll settle this Theres no way ccm and warrior measure from the same spot with that kind of difference in thigh rise height
-
-
Unless I’m mistaken, the Axis Pro glove is offered in all 3 break angles. So if you’re like me and love a 90 degree, warrior is no longer your only retail option
-
I love warrior but the new bauer pads look pretty interesting with the new knee stack and calf plate. Personally I don’t like any stock graphics on the market right now so I stick to my padskinz. If you’re picking pads solely based on the graphic I don’t know what to tell you. Since I first started learning about goalie gear I’ve never picked something for the graphic over the feel. If you wanna complain about stock graphics but like the pad then buy the all white ones and do it yourself like I did. I believe every brand has its faults, CCM has speedskin (which sounds like it’s been improved on axis), Bauer has their reputation from 1s and 1x, Warrior has an odd feel and underwhelming graphics, and Vaughn is a little outdated. No brand is perfect and everyone has their preferences

24in with steep shoulders yup never tried steep shoulders and I’ve been wanting to. Plus I’m exactly Saros height and I model my game after his so it should work brilliantly for me.
-
What’s the balance like on the P2 stick? Looking into a Saros pro stock stick
-
Good timing. My PAW will be in need of replacing here soon. The paw neck guard has been absolutely amazing but unfortunately it’s starting to reach the end of its life after 4 years of use. Plus it was sized for me 4 years ago so it’s a little small now.

TRUE Goalie Skates - 1 Piece vs. 2 Piece
ThatCarGuy replied to Tim_TRUEHockey's topic in True Hockey
I have one piece skates and with as many skate saves as I make they’re holding up amazingly. The only issue with them that’s my fault is when replacing the blades I accidentally broke the glue or whatever is in the holder hold the blades in tighter so now there’s a little play but it’s not noticeable on ice at all.- 233 replies

Looking good. If I had money I’d probably consider these just as much as G5
-
I’m left handed at everything else so why not give this a shot Full right Reebok Premier XLT blocker and Premier IV glove and a full right Vaughn stick Update: after a game of catch in the back yard it has been determined I catch as well with my right as I do with my left. Can’t wait to see how my blocker side is once ice opens back up

What about us 90 deg users? -
Trying to keep my setups black and white this year so if I play for the two teams I want to play for then their colors won’t conflict (green yellow black white vs red black white) Also a potential padskinz idea depending if I make a certain travel team

My GAA is close to 3 times that lol

It would appear that the G5 set, chest protector, stick and helmet have already arrived in Texas, but not in stores. I’m told they’re not even on site -

I’m sold. These sound exactly like what I’d want from a pad. Any chance you could put a number on the weight? -
Hell if you’re going for less expensive then why even buy custom gloves? Just padskinz the crap out of a retail pair like I did with my “heritage” G4 glove and blocker
-
Sadly I’m a bit more southern and don’t expect to be more northern til my senior year

Damn right

42 games. 4 wins. 2 shutouts. 1000+ shots. Oh well. I had one hell of a good time and went through quite the transformation in gear and style of play
